Let me get this right, are some people rally complaining that the alt modes are not as realistic as the G1 versions. Let me just remind you, the G1 devastator in combined mode was a terrible figure, no posability, it fell apart very easily, and most importantly without all the extra bits which make up at least an eighth of the combined figure devastator would not even combine.
Th most important thing about transformers is that they can transform, additional parts kinda defeat the purpose, and for a toy small parts are a bad idea as they can get lost, then when you think of a real life scenario, where are all these extra parts beeing kept when in battle, yes some are added on as missle launchers, but the complaint was about realism, and those parts definently give the game away.
My other point is, that transformers are all about design and look, if they didn't transform into bad ass robots, none of us would be interested, as they are toys I think we all can agree, robot mode takes priority over alt mode. even though I feel mp starscream turned out really well, alot of people hate dthe hip kibble, I think as the basic form was inspired by a samurai, that swords would of been a nice addition and made the hip kibble more functional, just as devastators forearms become missle launchers and have a dual function. Anyways, The best mp's sacrafice alt mode for robot mode, look at MP convoy, Vs MP megatron, megatron would of looked alot better if the gun proportions were altered slightly to make the robot mode better, even the sight scope, was too big for robot mode, and scale ddown still would of worked in gun mode, and wouldnt of looked half as out of place in gun mode as it does as a fusion cannon in Meg's bot mode. If we wanted realistic alt modes over robot modes hen we would collect die cast models of alt modes, robot mode is what we display so that takes priority.
The fact that the forearm is made from the tracks is a genius idea, and works really well. The whole point of devastator is it's combined form, if you have inetentions of displaying this figure in it's amller robot modes or in it's alt modes, then you are seriously wasting your money,as the G1 figures have decent enough alt modes, it's the combined form that needs a revamp and thats exactly what we are getting. My only concerns are that the scale and weight may limit posability, and that we have seen so many prototypes in the past that are still yet to come to life, I am worried they might run out of funding, but I am very happy that they are trying, and it looks really god, too good to be true.
I also hope that that is def not the way it will be combined, as the waist look like it's off centre, hook should be centred over long haul not shifted to oneside.

I'm sure they do combine fine. Besides the fact it's a very awkward angle, you can tell Long Haul was edited in. The lighting on him is stronger and nearly shadowless compared to the other two. Also the fact they did it is largely why the shot looks so awkward. This was just give to us an idea. A small taste- and it is delicious.

Accuracy in any mode is a weird thing to hold on to in this fandom. As much as I love my Bruticus Done Right (courtesy of Fansproject) I was never a fan of the concept of their weapons being intrinsic to the combined mode because sometimes I get the vibe they need all their luggage. Though it does lead to a fun scenario worthy of Robot Chicken.

"Combaticons! UNITE!"
"Um... Onslaught? I lost my missle racks."
"WHAT! DAMMIT Whirl, those become Bruticus' shoulders. Well that's just great; what's a giant robot going to do without arms! Stomp around?"
"Ease up 'slaught; it's better than last week when you lost one of the pods that become his feet?"
"Oh, shut up Brawl!"
"Hey! I'm as much a part of this team as anyone!"
"Sure you are, Mr. All-I-have-to-do-is-turn-back-into-a-tank."

Hahahaha, imagine if Robot chicken did do a sketch with Bruticus! man, i'd cringe as they trashed it with battle damage and melted parts and what not, hahaha. They need more TF skits, all of them have been gold, especially Jazz trying to follow the rest with half his body left, hehehe.

It would be awesome if they could get enough content to release a TF DVD.

They seem to be circling the drain lately, They should just do what they did for the Star Wars movies, but with He-Man, Transformers, Gi-Joe... That'd keep me interested.

I totaly agree that it's a photoshop mock up, but as it has there logo in the corner, it's not an outsider having a go, it's the creators, and I would of thought they would of done it more acuratly since they know how it combines, and although a little more tricky, a little masking and some well placed guess work would of given a much more truer appearence, and if they can design that, how did that poor mock up come out of the same camp.

Whats killer is that if you have MP Grimlock, he looks like he matches up with Devastator in scale, in regards to the clip.

Hmmmm, maybe I should of gotten those Animated Dinobots after all. Oh well, atleast I will have a henkei Grimlock from TF source soon, the chrome can blind Devastator while he's charging, thus evening the scale... that or make him a more noticeable target and easier to hit with laser fire :BOOM: Wonder how dexterous those hands are, like can they hold a minicon the same way FP Bruticus can and making his head face the barrel?

A few new images, nothing new revealed really, but we do get a look at the three Project: Deva figures combined rather than a photoshop image.

Wow, that answers alot of questions. This will have to be so well produced as something that big with what appears to be alot of posability, will rely heavily on it's joints, and weight distrabution. But looks wise its amazing. It appears that the leg parts will make the lower leg and the knee joint, extending the thighs slightly, I hope theres more than just that peg attatching them, as a peg is ok, but for attatching to a moveable joint, I can't see it being sturdy enough, especialy if its click in and out plug, by it's very nature it is designed to pop out.

Some of the previous images of Longhaul gave better views of the connector pegs for the legs. They appeared to be similar to the connectors on the Energon combiners.

Actually, its not just the legs. Look at some of the older images where you see Scavenger in colour in arm mode.

Huh, Long Haul is smaller than I thought, making for a nicely defined torso. Does anyone else see the front and back of Hook as pecs?

The Cons are doing really well out of the third party companies this year, Devastator, Reflector x2 and the Insecticons (in both Classics and Hearts of Steel forms)

I'm agreeing with you on that size call. Which should make this 3rd party Deva larger than the G1, as G1 bonecrusher is about the size of a current scout class.

You are probably right... :BOOM: I was thinking I could get away with Project Deva by virtue of not getting much Hasbro stuff and Fansproject not having anything tempting... ...then we had wave after wave of awesome Generations and Reveal the Shield, and Fansproject unveiled their sweet Insecticons... :BANG_HEAD: I need more money!!!
