That toy you regretted buying or not buying

I realize that as a collector I am going to come across some toys I wish I should have bought and the ones I should not have bought. I really wish I had not bought at least 5 of the DOTM toys I bought that now do not really serve to much of a purpose to me. As far as the ones I should have bought that would be masterpiece Grimlock and masterpiece Rodimus Prime. I was in the store when both of them were just sitting on the shelf right in front of me. I should have grabbed them and that T.R.U EZ g1 colors devastator (hey, that thing was pretty cool.) But regardless I can always go to local collectors or overpriced ebay stores. :BANG_HEAD: Oh well share your story or reply to mine.
:CON: all hail Megatron!

I regret not picking up GDO wheelie for 16$ at a toy show, and the NYCC pink Arcee/ Bumblebee cab boxed set for 40$ at another toy show.

In store so far the only toy I semi-regret buying is FoC Jazz. The mold isnt quite as bad as it first seemed, but the rest of line has almost no appeal to me so I wont be getting the rest- making him a bit out of place.

I wish I never bought the 2007 movie figs, ignored the two sequels because of those.

Held off on buying any Prime toys for quite a while before getting sucked into the FE toys, loved most of em, but that lead to PRiD and I regret buying many of those :-(

Thundertron
Dreadwing
Kup
Rumble
Airachnid
PRiD Bumblebee mold (only have the Hotshot repaint)
FE Arcee
FE Bumblebee

They were all a massive disappointment for me...

Almost the entire Energon line sucked, wasted lots of money there :BANG_HEAD:

Wish I'd gotten the G1 Hotrod reissue, still kicking myself that I left it on the shelf for the following week instead of getting him then #-o

Edit: Ooooo, 100 posts, Ima big boy now!

I'm going to pretend I didn't read your post Arctorro, haha.

Hey Jindrak, you know that the GDOs are being sold at TRU...right? Also, HTS STILL has those stupid NYCC two packs last time I checked.

Hm, I have some regret for buying Darksteel for $15, but only because of how cheap he feels. Which is weird, since DotM Sideswipe felt good and solid. But I love the mold, and Darksteel looks SO good. And since I'm not a fan of the original Quickstrike figure anyway, his slot is now filled quite happily. I just wish I'd paid $5 less for him lol.

I've had a few missed eBay buys, particularly a cheap gray hulk tank to massacre for my Enegon gestalts. :P.

Maybe he shouldn't have been under the "massively" heading, but I don't like the way his chest and feet transform. It could just be the one I've got, but he just doesn't transform properly...

Fuzors Sky Shadow
Animated Snarl
Human Alliance Leadfoot

Those are my three regrets. The last two were only needed to complete their respective groups.

Oh, and I need to find a Transmetal Waspinator.

Regret buying:
RotF Brawn -- got him on sale, but still not very fond of the toy
PCC Searchlight

Regret NOT buying:
HA Jazz -- I pass on him once (no money to spend that day) and never saw him again
RotF Bruticus Maximus -- passed initially, then Legends Devastator and PCCs got me into combiners. Not wanting because of 3rd party add-ons, but merely because he looks to be a decent semi-realisitic "Earth mode" combiner.

Regret not Buying: Energon Wing Saber. My fatimus prime REALLY needs some new digs.

Regret NOT buying:
Universe Prowl
Universe Sideswipe
Universe Ironhide
Universe Smokescreen
Universe Ratchet
Universe Hound
Universe Brawn
Universe Beachcomber
Universe Cosmos
Universe Inferno
Universe Dropshot
Universe Skyfall

Henkei Astrotrain
GDO Wheelie. Saw it at a collector shop for $3 off, thought it was not worth it. Never saw it again.

"Universe" Swerve. See, I saw this pre-release in a carton for $16, did not know what it was and passed. By the time I figured what it was, it was gone.
Henkei Black Convoy Unreleased prototype. An unreleased prototype of Henkei black prime, around the same time SDCC prime came out. Later released as 2012 United Black Convoy. Saw it for $30 in 2008

Regret buying:
Universe Heavyload. Then he appeared as filler Decepticons in IDW's various comics, and I did not regret the purchase anymore.

Oh I know GDOs are still kicking around, but in the last 2 months, I've managed to find EVERY other toy in the wild including mp-10 during a 20% off weekend and over 10 vehicons before the Aldi sale...except Wheelie :(

Went to a med. sized toy show and one guy had all 4 GDO deluxes for 16$ each. Bought the Swerve and the Springer, passed on the CJ due to having the FE and FE terrorcon already, and passed on Wheelie for whatever hairbrained reason. Came back to the table less than 10 mins later and it was gone. Oddly enough, GDO Hot Spot for 20$ sat there all day. Twilight zone.

I wish I had FE Ciffjumper or FE Bumblebee. Trying to complete the Prime line for my daughters Xmas.

I would have traded/ grabbed a GDO Wheelie for you if you wanted but take a look here http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... d=16803576 ;)

Hmmmm, let me see, what I regret buying:

MP Rodimus Prime's probably the closest to regretting buying a figure. i had a lot of problems with mine straight out of the box.

What I wish I had bought:
I was in Japan, and skipped on a MIB Doubledealer going dirt cheap. Same for Anime color eHobby Astrotrain, and probably Nucleon Quest Optimus.

Ah yes! MP Rodimus! I kept him back in his box and placed him behind all my figs I forgot about him. The arm broke off cos I looked at it funny.

Also, When I was in Japan back in 2010 I saw a G1 Scorponok with box, going for around US$45. I doubt the accessories were complete, but it was in pretty good shape and I really regret passing it. :-(

Regret not buying
ROTF Leader Megatron: Good thing the mold is getting re-released as another repaint

Regret Buying
DOTM Skids & Mudflap: These 2 are the only DOTM figures that I've gotten that I really do not like.. But it did help me complete the DOTM line..
