I don't think that the energon should be too much of an issue perhaps take it by a case to case basis seeing as the donations work and I've got €1,215,757 If someone needs armor and can't afford it I am sure something can be done

Hmmmm, very good point EP.
Energon is an interesting issue, as its something I cannot directly alter (which was the problem with the hunting game.)

Its possible that we may all have to work within factions with donations to get this of the ground, but ill have a look and see what I can do.

Maybe an entry fee could be charged? I do realize that new accounts still may not have it, or an entry donation? Not required buy highly recommended? Or a volunteer? if they need it and are Decepticon I'll finance the weapons and Amory within as long as they aren't changing it every day... Since they can only reset during stated times they shouldn't need that much my team can hold up the incoming energon.

After the tournament would it be possible to return are characters to their pre tourney exp levels or will we have to reset and start for scratch? (not that its a real issue for my bots but i still hope this could be cleared up)

Secondly are the participants allowed weapons or will it be good old fisticuffs?

Weapons were greenlighted in previous posts.

I think that the will be no need to return the characters back as they will be in the tourney right up to the end of of V1.

It would be cool if we could win V2 prizes, as added incentive.

Me personally I keep track of my XP constantly. If they were going to put them back down to what they had before I'd ask for what he had, as I understand it they are going to raise it to 15 mil total, so that would include what you have now, taking it away would bring you back down below what you had to start possibly. As I've read, it will an on going thing until End game starts so if you join you should know your in it for the long run.

Had another thought/question cross my mind, and it goes in line with those asking about XP being taken away.

I believe it was said, in the first post with the rules, that there would be more than 1 season, correct? And that you have to re-sign up for each season?...Are we allowed to enter multiple bots throughout the league, like season 1 i enter character A, season 2 i enter character B. Or will we have to choose between character A and character B and that chosen one will be it through to the end of game?(i only have one character i want to enter ever into this, so i'm just throwing this stuff out there, giving you more stuff to ponder over :P lol)

As I read it (correct me if it is wrong Psychout) it could last multiple months in which "seasons" could take place given how long V2 takes to be ready, once version 2 is here it will most likely be pulled. But in the small print point 2 is this:

You may only sign up one of your characters for this league, ever.

So it would be the same bot each season. I'd think that you wouldn't have to sign up but just play as directed simply because no one else would have level 6s.....

Ahh, thanks Sustain. I must have overlooked that accidently, or maybe read over things before that got added.

yep, sounds like a fun endgame to me,...count one of my bots in on this one! :-)

Raph, Sustains right, the plan is to keep running month on month as long as I still have the time to update it and we stall have interest. (Thanks Sustain.)

Oh, this isnt the endgame. That still to come...

BUT WE DO HAVE ONE SMALL PROBLEM!!

Energon.
(A huge thank you to EP for bringing this to my attention)

Whilst the staff can manipulate XP, alts and upgrades to your characters to set you all up for this, we cannot affect how much energon you earn/have saved up at this point in the game.
As you will all surely understand, I am hesitant to ask OS for help. Whilst I'm sure he would love to, he is incredibly busy and I cannot ask him to spend time he does not have modifying individual accounts for a game like this, it just wouldn't be fair on him. So, we are looking at what other avenues we can pursue here.

Therefore I give you this warning: level 6 is expensive so you need to take weapons, armour and CR costs into account as well as your stats when you are creating your characters, all the information for this is in the Help section or will be available in HMW:GD when the sign up thread opens.

Current ideas we have to help you are:
  • Adding a 'retirement' clause for those who run out of money so the character can return to the normal game.
  • Allowing Formula 1-style 'sponsorships'. If a group of players within a faction wish to work together to fund one combatant and register as a group, any rewards given out will be handed to the fighters backers as well as the fighter itself, albeit to a lesser value.

I'm sure in 99% of cases your fellow factionites will be willing to help you out, but this may cause problems for the level 0's especially, so if you guys have any more suggestions or comment on our suggestions above, please feel free to throw them out for us...

Thanks guys.

True, as level 6 is going to be expensive,...for early players (me included as I only have about 100,000 energon to work with right now) wouldn't the ends justify the means at the same time?....I mean, while the CR costs and armor go up in price,...don't you get more out of a haul in XP and Energon as well if you win in the arena match,...and if you don't win,...well isn't that pretty much the point? haha Losers go home, and winners stay to fight

(good thing I'm a gamblin' man myself)

:APPLAUSE:

but yea at any rate,...even if you pick a piss-poor build for a level 6 and you run out of money I'm sure that somewhere and somehow someone higher-up that you in your faction will donate to a charity case (if for nothing more than bragging rights of course) :-) especially since we're all gonna be wiped out and starting from scratch when the giant tissue of Seibertron comes to wash away the filth of HMW1 and brings us the shiny new HMW2

*two cents*

I'll still help Decepticons where I can.

I know that some of the weapons have been created, is it possible to place a weapon in an inventory? Then they could sell it off for funds. Obviously something worth value and not particularly game worthy.
Perhaps a faction pool, players can donate to person A and when the need arises A can hand out increments of $$ to keep combatants going?

Not too many I can think of with out involving OS. But perhaps to keep in mind if he will help.
If the arena is free for CR at level 0 maybe level 6 is also an option. Might at least cut costs.
Script with a list of the challengers for a $ bonus,

Just a few thoughts.

Will we have to submit weapon choices before hand and will we be given the energon to buy them?
or is it no weapons?

Configs must be sent privately to The Huntmasters account before a set deadline to be eligible to enter and cannot be changed once submitted apart from upgrading as and when XP allows.

Just to clarify, How is this to handled? If we build low level 6 we'll still be able to upgrade during the challenge to the 1 upgrade from lvl 7???

Psychout wrote:You may use any armour, weapons and alts you can get your hands on, and all The Huntmasters will need from you is the list of stats you will be using and your chosen character link. The rest is up to you.

Feel free to rename/recreate your character all you want, alter the bio and story etc as much as you like as long as we have its stats and link then its fine.
Or just leave them as they are, your call.

Right now we are on our own for Energon, I suggest finding a buddy in your faction to help you out if don't think you'll have it. Hopefully though that will be cleared up.

We will need actual conformation from Psychout or Burn but I believe that is the idea as long as the first set up to start with is sent to the Huntmasters XP that is gained after the fact can be used up to the point of +1 to level 7. You will have to remain level 6. It is stated that there will be periods for resetting, so that gained XP can be moved around when the time is appropriate.

We were divided over that, I wanted everyone to be locked into the same configuration regardless of whether they could upgrade or not, Psychout wanted people to have the chance to upgrade, as he said "give those who still want to experiment the chance".

So yes, you can still upgrade, provided you do not exceed level 7.

Anyone breaks that little rule, well ... you'll be out of the contest, and never welcomed back into it.

Thanks Burn, I was working under the assumption that we were locked to the stats we give to register.

I and a few others I suspect, will be changing our plans with that clarified.

Just to clarify (because someone's bound to ask).

If you're level 6 and 8 upgrades away from level 7, you can use up any of those 7 upgrades.

You are NOT allowed to reset at all.

You submit your config and the only time it can change is if you have a upgrade. You can only go up, you can't go back and start again, nor can you exceed level 6.

Thanks for the clarification on the energon issue. I know it probably wasn't going to affect me due to the config I was looking at I should have had enough in my reserves to get the things I needed. I was more looking out for those who are newer and want to participate. Being a Level 0 now and moving up to Level 6 with only about 50k or less energon in the bank isn't going to get you the armor and weapon needed to competitively compete with ones who have stockpiled massive amounts of energon. If there is people willing to donate in all factions, then there should hopefully no problem. I guess you could always take your energon to the casino and try your hand at Battle Beasts.

Ill have an updated rules posting in a new thread later today, and then we can start looking at the signups.

This thread is now closed as we have moved on to the next stage of the rules.

Please look here for the final draft
Cheers for the feedback guys,
