So I spent the day on the road yesterday, visiting old friends and surfing the slightly more distant stores. While on said road, the TR Grotesque came up in an email, so I pulled off to the side of a 4 lane highway and ordered him. He shipped this morning! And he looks really good too, I was totally surprised to see the header for the email, and I didn't know about the Scorponok head until around 4 hours later. Excited for that pair to come. and lucky I saw the email: he sold out within an hour.

And while on the road, picked up these guys:

Image

TRU price matched the Cybertron toy to the $109.19 online. Opened him up (first experience with the mold) and I absolutely love him. the colors are really cool, and I love the orange paint on the chest.

Haven't opened Blitzwing. Got him stop before the TRU (my last stop) and picked him up because I thought I wanted him and it was looking like an empty toy day. Still not sure if I'll keep him. Thinking about pairing him up with Fangry or Flywheels or something like that. Still not sure if he's worth it, especially since I am getting G2 Megs so I would have 3 different versions of the same mold.

The comics were half off at a comic store I used to visit all the time at school. I'm so happy with them. I really enjoyed reading them, and then storing them back in their packaging. They will stay in there to protect them. they have the original 80's styled comics paper too! they're cool, and I may at some point need to start hunting down the original 80 issue run.

They also had 3 parts out of 5 of the Target: 2006 reprint, and I really thought about it, but I want to get the whole story at the same time.

D-Max!!

That 3rd Party Dino looks pretty dang nifty! My first and 3rd Party figure was Apollyon, and unlike most, I was pleasantly surprised. He was better than MP5 Megatron, and Hasbro MP Rodimus Prime, so I was happy and still am. I got him off the shelf last night and had him back and forth in around 30 minutes. I can't remember the last time I transformed him. POINT BEING! 3rd Party stuff is cool. Still trying to decide on which Meteor I'm going to end up with..

I'm glad you found Cybertron! I've seen it a few times in the store but I just can't pull the trigger. He was like $50 10 years ago. Anything about $75 would be too much for me.

I has all the G1 comics digitally a few times over (Humble Bundle FTW) and I still re-read them a lot!!

Glad you had some good road times ;)^

More TLK Cybertron love! :x :APPLAUSE:

Y'know there's some figures that just slip through the cracks, and he's definitely one of them. Know what I mean? Hot new figure X in hot new line Y get a news post every time people pose them differently, but nothing about this Cybertron has been newsed (anywhere I mean) since the official production pics :(

Thanks Crambo! That Dino looks so sharp, I could not pass it up. And it's about the same price as that movie advanced Dino was from Takara for AoE!

oh, I feel you there! Cybertron is awesome! This mold is so much fun! And i love the omega lock/Quintessa's Chamber feature that you have to use to transform him! and he's so heavy! I love him, and the colors are great. The orange works so well with the purple and black, and I love how the orange is on parts that form the core of the planet, great touch!!
Cobotron wrote:One of you two should write up a pictorial. ;)

I will be doing so for Grotusque and Galvatronus here soon! I don't have the original Primus though, so my pictorial review of Cybertron was turned down.

Speaking of which, Saturday HTS/Amazon haul!!

Also got IDW TPB OP volume 1 and TAAO volume 2. Great reads. And all of these figures are pretty great! Will talk more in their reviews, but Galvatronus and Grotusque are some of the best of their lines!

Well, I am not reviewing Dragbreak, but he is the best crash combiner so far. Really fun to see him with Menasor too.

My 3 crash combiners together, and my 3 team combiners together!

Also, some shots of the Monsterbots and Scorponok!

For some real world stuff, I saw this 86 Monte Carlo for sale. Looking into it cause I love the 80's Monte Carlos!

Hot dang that Grotusque is awesome!! I can't believe I missed out on him. Massive issues with HTS at the time for me. By the time I got Customer Service to sort it out he was gone!

That's awesome about the Monte Carlo!! When I was young my brother and sister had my grandmothers car as their first car, a '85 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4-4-2 (same platform as the Monte Carlo coupe)! I had hopes that it would be my first car, but dad sold it after my siblings went to college (10 year difference between me and them). We called it The Silver Bullet. I miss that dang car :-(

It does. It really does. I couldn't log in on the mobile page on my phone at the time it was shown and by the time I got back to my office and attempted I stiiiiiiiill couldn't connect. It was frustrating. By the time they fixed it it was gone. Oh well. It actually happened with Arcee too but I didn't attempt getting my account straight as I wasn't sure if I was getting her as a gift from someone who was at HASCON or not.

Even if it isn't that's one of my favorite pictures of Galvatron of all time. Pretty sure it was from the DreamWave Transformers Armada comicbook.

For the record, Christmas of my senior year was when I got my 50th TF, which was Prime legion Magnus. I only got some over the course of freshman year of college, but after that, when combiner wars hit, my collection exploded. Hunted down some older figures, bought a lot of new ones. Oh and that was the time I got into comics.

So don't be too jealous, the explosion really didn't happen until after I turned 19 (T30 Brainstorm was my birthday present to myself that year (2014), I set up an Ebay and got Metroplex, and I got my favorite TF of all (Trailcutter), read his comic) and hell froze over

Alright, with the help of some friends and enablers, my list of figures to find has shrunk by 2:

Overlord and the Ramhorn wave (including Apeface, Overboard, and my 2nd Ptero) are now both in my Pile of Loot at BBTS.

So for Reference, the only guys left that I want to get before the current 3 lines end are:

Titans Return
Slugslinger
Clones
Trypticon (I asked for him for Christmas, so we'll see if the parents agree to it)
-
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe hunt down a rogue Terribull, don't need a Crashbash since I now will have 2 of the mold

Robots in Disguise
Legion Twinferno
Legion Heatseeker
Crash combiner Primelock
Crash combiner Saberclaw

-Won't be too broken up over the legions, I have both already in some other capacity

The Last Knight
Legion Hound
Legion Dragonstorm
Deluxe new Bee
Deluxe Cogman

And an update on outstanding figures:

Leader Dragonstorm is set to arrive tomorrow
3P Firage is on Pre-order at BBTS. Once he's in stock, he, Overlord, and the Ramhorn wave ship
MP Megatron, MP Targetmaster Hot Rod, G2 Megatron, TLK Nemesis Prime, Legends Greatshot, and Legends Grand Maximus are on pre-order from TFsource. When MP Megs comes in (if he comes before February), he'll ship. Then Rod, Megs, and Nemesis will ship together, maybe with MP Megs if he takes till February. And then the legends guys will ship together in March

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!! I think you have more bots than I do now!! I've toned down a few shelves, namely my two MP-based shelves!

Then I have my bin o bots, which recently expanded to include LEGO/MegaBloks sets (in independent Ziplocs). I'll go in to detail elsewhere I suppose.

All of mine are on display, none stored away, that may be why!

My actual number is around 500. I think I'm just shy, need to update my word document list of every single one i've gotten (yes, I do have one, and it has them all in order or purchasing).

Ah. I have a ton in bins not on display. There's no room!

Word Document?! Excel spreadsheet dude!! You can create fields and sort by type and series and other things that tables do! Even if they are complete or not! ALL OF THE SPREADSHEETS!!

While excel would probably make more sense now that you say it, word is easier to copy, and I don't feel like moving all 500 to a spreadsheet   Though in word they are labeled as:
"502. Overlord (TR leader)"
which is to make sure I can always tell them apart!

Well, right after I logged off Tuesday, a package arrived, bearing my Dragonstorm:

Image

He's alright, but he's a bit fiddly and really needed different colors.

But then came a real treat. I had an interview yesterday, and there were a Walgreens, TRU, Target, and Walmart all nearby and decided to pay them each a visit. Target had nothing new. Then I went to Walgreens: they had 3 of the cyber battalion figures. Passed, but thought about Jetfire for a bit.

Next I went to TRU, and a truly magical thing happened: they had just stocked movie MP Prime! So, considering he was the $99.99 price he was supposed to be and not the $139.99 online price, I got him.

And then I went to Walmart, and then my head exploded: 6 Overlords! I was within the 7 day cancellation policy of BBTS, so I quickly cancelled him and saved $5 getting him in stores.

Image

Overlord is the best of the 3. I spent the entire 2nd and 3rd quarter as well as halftime of the Chiefs/Raiders game trying to get Prime to altmode with no success. Need to watch some videos...

Also, that interview went alright, but I had another one today for an immediate opening and I think I nailed it :D
