Time for some Masterpiece love!!!! (Overlord is gonna get some love here over the next few days)

So basically the entire weekend when I had free time was dedicated to Prime. I have been bound and determined to figure out his transformation and get his truck mode to work. And the whole experience has been infuriating and some fun.

First, infuriating: I tried so many tricks to get the truck mode to work, and the hood just won't stay. I can get it to stay right up until the last tabbing: the hitch area will not stay tabbed if the hood is tabbed and vice versa. Also, his chest and back in robot mode will not tab, they sort of just prop themselves into a position that isn't tabbed but somewhat holds, but is not symmetrical. and something that is supposed to be symmetric and isn't drives me batty. Also, both he and Bee needed better hands. Bee's are loose and Prime's are ugly colored and a bit too skinny in the finger department.

Now, fun: the robot mode is simply beautiful, and amazing to pose. there is no pose this guy does not look good in. He has been fun to weapon swap and pose around. That part is awesome. Oh and all the die cast is awesome, he's pretty heavy!

And now, pictures:

Nice shots D-Max!! Did the EmGo video update help you find the area that causes the tabbing issue? I know he did one review, and then he did a follow up. Looked relatively painless

I'm digging the few Masterpiece aesthetic. I may be heading that way!

I used his videos as the main source of help, and it did help keep the hood together for a bit... but as soon as I started working on finishing up the back of the truck, the work was undone. getting the hitch area to tab while keeping the hood together is the main letdown
itscramtastic wrote:I'm digging the few Masterpiece aesthetic. I may be heading that way!

I have made my vow that with Masterpiece, I intend to only get 1 version of a mold, no repaints even if it is a different character, and I only get figures that intensely interest me or I really really like the character, hence the 2 movie MP's, the targetmasters, and the shattered glass guys. MP Megz and Target-Roddy will join the Den next year, and at this point there really isn't another figure other than a Swiper that may join that shelf for a while, except maybe Barricade once he is finally revealed and released as a whole.

My Masterpiece guys will be my elitist focus, very picky, very focused

So after messing around with some figures yesterday, I have a bunch of new pictures to share!

Up first, some Phase 6-er action!

Image
Image

Up next, some pants-swapping (which is just ridiculous!)

Image

RE-creating MTMTE issue 15:

Image
Image

Last Stand of the Wreckers throwback!

Image

Overlord vs. God Ginrai!

Image

Couldn't remember if I had taken a picture of my triple changers, so i took another!

Image

The Knights of Iacon (can YOU find all 16 named characters?)

Image

Some Scorn love. I really think He may beat Megatron out for TLK figure of the year

Image
Image

And with the feet mistransformed like this, he would be a perfect Beast Wars Megatron

Image

And my Dragon knights!

I didn't realize Scorn was new and not a repaint of his old self.

I may not have a proper "Cybertron" toy, but I have a nice little group of repaints in later lines from Cybertron!

I personally think Cybertron is better than the original Primus. Those colors and paint work are killer! And Overload makes me happy I got a version of the mold, he's fun! And Breakaway was $6 or $7, so he works good too! The latter 2 really needed ankle tilts or A-stance based feet though, and Breakaway longer forearms. But Cybertron appears to be a great toyline!

In other news, Cram has finally let go, and I have finally given in: a certain Masterpiece will soon be headed my way, along with an interesting and unique Beast Wars figure from a convention: Depthcharge, from Terradive! That mold looks sick, so I am looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Which brings me to an interesting section of my collection that is slowly growing: Beast Wars. To date, I have the Thrilling 30 Rattrap and Rhinox, the original Prowl II, and Combiner Wars Magnaboss, with 2 custom limbs instead of his default configuration. Now next year that will grow by 2, with PotP Primal and MP Dinobot joining the ranks, so the shelf will look so weird with so many different lines making it up! I look forward to having the characters represented in a unique fashion like that, and I hope we get a Tigerhawk down the road somewhere! He was badass!

Moving on with today's Halloween catchup where Maxy is just typing away what he's thinking, My figures left for the year list is quite small now, being 2 legions, 3 deluxes, 2 crash combiners (if they even happen), and a titan. I'm excited to finish those off at some point!

And finally, the last interview for a position I interviewed for 10 days ago is today, so I should find out later this week if I got that job! I was turned down for the one I had the day I got MP Prime and Overlord, but I wasn't a fan of the company after the interview.

OK, maybe not finally, but a question: should I buy the TFCC Toxitron, SG Starscream, and Counterpunch set, and should I wait out the Cybertron's most wanted set/how soon should i jump on that?

And finally-finally: How are you guys today? Great day? any snow yet?

Lots of topics to cover D-Max!!

I think I only have 4 Unicron Trilogy figures. Hot Shot, Rodimus, and Galvatron from Energon and Excellion from Cybertron. Excellion and Galvatron are my favorites.

TFCC Depthcharge is a really fun figure. The transformation is great and he cleans up very well!! And MP Sideswipe is amazing. I'm going to have the regrets, but they'll pass. At least I still have my Alternators Sideswipe and Sunstreaker   Speaking of Alternators, the Ford GT mold is one of the best. I have Mirage and Rodimus in that variety ;)^

Until you typed it, I completely forgot about Power of the Primes Optimus Primal, which will be a must buy. It's funny how my must buy list has significantly dwindled. Currently leader Rodimus Prime, Optimus Primal, and deluxe Darkwing/Dreadwind are all that I must absolutely have. And all 13 Primes in Pretender format

As for the TFCC stuff, I think it tells you right in the product description (where the price/sku info is) how many are left in stock so you don't have to add to cart or anything.

I also hope to someday have the Titan that was released this year, I'm really hoping I'll find him at Ollie's like I did with Fortress Maximus though!!

Great day here, no snow in the forecast for some time I'm sure.

Great day here, no snow in the forecast for some time I'm sure.

I saw half of an Energon Rodimus in Goodwill one time! And Energon Galvatron does look sick, and the Excellion paint work is fantastic!

Depthcharge looks so unique. and that transformation is really cool! I like how the jet nose and the wings make the chest! And Swiper! they better not make a SG Swiper now though, I swore to only do 1 version of an MP mold (though with how much I love Jazz and i want Stepper, it may be hard when that one happens...)

I can't wait till Primal is revealed in full. the early shots made me a bit sad with how they approached it, but it has grown on me some. and I respect 3 bodies, 1 toy

And apparently Megatronus and I are going to chill and drink some coffee (or tea in my case, HATE coffee) till the stock goes down. Oilmaster will be mine!!!!

Ollies! I've only seen Roadbusters and cheapo legions there, nothing more.

And yay for a good day! It's cold enough here that we are on the brink of snow. It rained nonstop all weekend, which sucked with doing deliveries, but it meant people didn't want to leave their house, so i got lots of deliveries!

Replied to this already in another thread  but YES!. TLK's Cybertron is far more interesting than the previous versions. Although 2010 is quite pretty.

The more I pose him, the more I love the robot mode. If they could have nailed the transformation/alt mode, he would be perfect

Also, I could not find this on Youtube, and it is hilarious, so I phone recorded it and Facebooked it. It's even funnier because of Stuartmaximus, Kurona, and Big Grim are all from Scotland

OK, important Question: I have a guy who is willing to sell me an MP Star Saber for $90 shipped. I kinda want to wait out a Power of the Primes Star Saber, but no guarantee, and I just bought another Masterpiece earlier this week.

Should I do it, or wait it out?

I say do eet. Assuming it’s in good condition and money isn’t an issue. Watch a review first though, I think I remember hearing that star saber had one of two issues.

I passed on it. Already got 1 MP this week, and I'm saving up to hit the club store stuff. Depending on how quickly stuff goes, I'm thinking I'll be buying at the 80% off point, that's pretty much retail price for the molds. And that stuff is more pressing than Star Saber
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please!

They're gonna go down to 90%!! They are dropping the price 10% every week until it hits 90% to get rid of the leftover stock. And considering there are lots of Cybertron's most wanted, Toxitrons, Terrorsaurs, and Fractyls, I am hopeful I will get Wreckage and the whole set!
