I used to have a few when I was younger. But then Transformers took over.

I do remember one Matchbox car I had. I lost in 4th grade. It was light blue, and was the same model as the old police cars from the 70s. A Dodge something. I have been looking for another one for a few years, but short of going through the ENTIRE Matchbox inventory, I doubt I will find it.

Where do I keep them? Wherever they fit (and that's starting to be problematic).

And I do remember those old 70's Dodge police cars. Your thinking of that big sedan right? (Otherwise known as the Monaco).

Well, Mattel doesn't use older molds with Matchbox as much as they do with Hot Wheels, so I doubt you'll be able to find an original or a new rendition of that car.
However, if it's the right Dodge I'm thinking of, they have recently made a police car version of that model. I've been wanting to pick it up but I never do. However, I don't know if the one you had was of the '74-'77 or the '77-'78 generation, because the latter is the one Matchbox currently makes.

Hmm. Thanks, that was a lot of help. I can search better now. :)

Well, Target had virtually nothing in Hot Wheels but I scored a ZR1, CTS Wagon, and to my surprise a Holden VE Ute in the Matchbox section. I'm still looking for a Dodge Monaco police car though.

They have some of those on eBay for fairly cheap. I am looking for that same light blue car I had years ago. And it wasn't an actual police car, it was just a same model.

Yes, I know they made a non-police version Monaco some years ago. I've seen pictures of it. But they only make a police version nowadays, probably because of the car's popularity as a police car in movies and TV. You just got me in the hunt for that car though.

I'll keep looking for the original car and I'll let you know if I see one on eBay.

I appreciate that. :) I'll be checking around as well.

My son has been collecting hot wheels since age 1. But he stopped because he kept destroying everything he owns out of boredom.

I never got bored with Hot Wheels or any toys when I was little. I always found a way to keep myself occupied.

I finally found the blue '68 Camaro! I'm glad that Mattel finally made a '68. Scalpers have been buying them up left and right.

I don't really collect them, but if I see one that is obscure I've been grabbing them.
Recently picked up a time machine, ECTO-1, the Batmobile and some of the Greased Gremlins. Ooohh how I would love to own a real Gremlin.
Also have a Wienermobile from years ago.

Never laid eyes on one either. Mixes are coming in slow in my area. The only recent new model I've seen is the orange BMW at one store, but since most other places ordered a TON of the first few waves, they can't get any of them off the racks. Most are the same ones that were there in December.

Hate to break it to you, but that's a custom job. You aren't going to find that in any store.
And I actually got lucky and found K.I.T.T. at my local grocery store several weeks ago. I hate that I've been passing up so many new ones I want, but I just haven't been compelled enough to spend any money. I'm already missing a few of the Hot Wheels Racing series. I got all 10 from last year all in blue.
