So, anyone planning on getting the upcoming video game? I'm pretty amped up for it.

Rowdy finally got himself a Cup win again. I think he deserved it though.
And Jr finishes...11th was it? Impossible.

Figures. The first race of the season I skip, and he wins. But if that's what it takes, I'll skip them all. GO #18!!!

I was really hoping to see that neat Pepsi Max car in victory lane, though, slaggit.
But I didn't get to see the race, either. And I know what you mean by missing your favorite driver's wins. I was volunteering when Gordon won at Phoenix :-x . I also missed his win at Pocono in '07 (on my birthday though), as well as his Martinsville win in '05. Maybe I should watch less often...
How do I remember all of this? Don't ask.

Wow...crazy finish. Never seen a Fontana race that good before. I'm sure Kyle Busch is pretty pissed though.

It happens. I wouldn't have minded if Jimmie won, but that no-talent punk Harvick has no business being in Victory Lane anywhere.

Well, I got the new video game today...
EA did a better job overall.

Yeah, I've seen some shots from it, it looks really good. Might have to go get it. I haven't bought a single NASCAR game yet, but this one looks really good.

Man, what a race on Sunday. Glad to see Harvick get his first win this season. Looking forward to a few more wins and a championship for Harvick.

Actually, I'm not very impressed. I said EA did a better job; they're the old developer. This new game from Activision and Eutechnyx has superb graphics and physics, as well as accuracy in the cars and tracks. However, the car designer has very confusing menu controls, and you cannot design a car with headlight/taillight, grille, and manufacturer decals. You can't even choose the Goodyear logos or contingency decals. And unlike 09, you can't design a car from scratch on your computer.
Plus the online experience is extremely glitchy. You can be leading by 3 seconds and the next second everyone else is 6 seconds ahead of you, but they eventually return back to where they should be (if it corrects itself before the race ends). Also, the game may start lagging and the car will get glitchy and will barely move, and I lost a race last night GOING INTO THE TRI-OVAL FOR THE CHECKERED FLAG because of that. My friend couldn't even get his car to move at all one race. It just sat at on the front stretch. I have a helluva time just joining a lobby. It always says "this session is no longer available" whenever I'm invited, but the race isn't even close to starting yet.
Plus, I had to turn my steering assists all the way off because I couldn't keep the car straight, yet it still feels to responsive to me. Everyone else online looked like they were driving under the influence because they couldn't keep the car under control.
They're supposed to release a patch I think, so I would still buy it despite my complaints.

I think the 29 team's on to something. I'm glad to see Kevin in victory lane again. I was rooting for Jr (because I'm a Hendrick fan, not a Jr fanatic) but he got screwed in the closing laps again! Again! As did Rowdy too, though.

Yeah, Harvick can suck it. Ever since the 2007 Daytona 500 I've wanted him to wreck in every race. He's a bum. He got lucky in the last 2 races, but they were short tracks, so it happens. It's like with Talladega. Nothing matters until the last turn. But now we'll be getting back to some of the intermediate tracks where actual skill is still somewhat relevant, and we'll see if he cracks the top 10.

Go #18!

Dude, what is your problem with Harvick? Honestly, what has he done? I'm not trying to be rude or argumentive, but I just don't see where your anger comes from. It just sounds like your coming up with excuses to diss him. I used to say that stuff about Kyle Busch but I got over it becuase the guy has talent (yeah, deal wit it folks). Yeah, he passed Mark Martin for the win in '07 who hasn't won a 500 yet, but he didn't shove him out of the way to do it. And was it just pure luck he finished second in the standings last year? It's just luck that he's won two races in a row at two totally different tracks? It's just luck that he's on the top three list of most wins in Nationwide history? It's just luck that he wins nearly every truck race he enters? It's just luck that he ends up somewhere in the front at the end of restrictor plate races?
In that case:
Jimmie Johnson's 5 consecutive championships were just pure luck (arguable)
Jeff Gordon's 80+ wins and four championships were just pure luck
Richard Petty's 200 wins and seven championships were just pure luck
Dale Earnhardt's seven championships were just pure luck
Kyle Busch's dominance in all three divisions is just pure luck
Trevor Bayne's cinderella story was just pure luck (widely argued also)
Ricky Craven's win at Darlington in '03 was just pure luck
Cale Yarborough's three consecutive championships were just pure luck

I don't like the guy. Period. If you or anyone else likes him, that's fine. I have no problem with that. But I don't. He didn't deserve Sr.'s ride to begin with, and he hasn't done much in the last 10 years. He cruised by, and yes, got lucky. The past 2 races, and in previous years. It's nothing personal, I just think he's Robby Gordon level. The fact that he GOT LUCKY in the 2007 Daytona 500 just another reason (not excuse) for me to not like him. He doesn't even come off as a likable guy. Junior sucks just as bad, but at least he's somewhat personable and friendly. He's also someone who got lucky and cruised on name, not on talent. Like Harvick, he won some races, but will never be a champion. Sadly, I have to include Mark Martin in that as well, I do like the guy, but if he hasn't gotten the title yet, he probably won't. But at least he knows how to drive. So, like I say, it's just a personal choice. If you're a Harvick fan, fine, no problem with that. But as far as I'm concerned, the guy is just exhaust fumes.

Well, Kenseth finally got himself another win. Maybe that'll give him some comfort to slow his speech down.
But how about Marcos Ambrose? He was in the top 5 almost the entire race.

Some really interesting stuff at the road courses this weekend. Crazy end to the nationwide race and a good show at Infineon.

Daytona predictions anyone? I'm thinking Stewart's going to win the Nationwide race and Kevin Harvick in the Cup race.

Not bad predicitons at all. Stewart has owned the Nationwide races at Daytona lately. The nationwide regulars are starting to get it done also. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Elliott Sadler get a win. The KHI equipment is always strong and he has a lot of momentum. Cup race is gonna be hard to call. Harvick is strong definitely. I'm gonna say Harvick for an easy pick. I'm gonna make a dark horse prediction also and say AJ Allmendinger. I think he'll be the next guy to pick up his first win.

So, the Subway Jalapeno 250:
Curse you Mike Wallace! First, he cuts off the race at Talladega, then he wrecks Danica Patrick and Aric Almirola on the last lap at Daytona. Nice.
It sucked for KHI too having all 4 of their cars taken out. But I really thought Danica or Elliot was going to win it. I'm a big Danica fan and I really wanted her to shut the haters up. Alas, DENIED. :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

Coke Zero 400:
Okay, I'm actually going to put two more different contenders in place: the Petty Motorsports cars. Yes, I'm serious. Allmendinger is typically fast at restrictor plate events. Ambrose seemed to have a good run going at Talladega too, but was caught up in an unavoidable wreck. I wouldn't be surprised to see them team up and pull off an upset, but they may have to go through the #21 before it's all said and done.
But there would be nothing better to me than to see the #24 Pepsi MAX car win the Coke Zero 400. Ah, the irony, and a kick in the nuts to Coke.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I won't be able to see the race because I'm going to see Transformers DOTM. But hey, they counteract each other at least.

I was really impressed with Danica. Say what you will but she has shown significant improvement this year. I would really like to see her run a full season.

I'm crossing my fingers for a full season next year. Heck, she could have a bigger paycheck in the Nationwide Series than in Indy Car. I'm a guy, an even I know the sport isn't reserved for men only, but that's what it seems like some others are saying.

I still think this race increases Danica's chances of winning the season opener at Daytona next year though.

been a while since the topics' been touched. so in the past few weeks:

Danica goes full time in 2012.

Kurt Busch vs. Jimmie Johnson

Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Jeff Gordon emerge as strong possibilities to grab the Cup away from Johnson.

And how about the summer of Keselowski. I don't think he'll win the title, but he'll finish pretty high.

Kurt and Jimmie have been fun to watch. It's been a while since we had drivers who had beef and it lasted past the weekend.

I'm a big Kyle Busch fan and I do hope he finally wins the first of hopefully many titles. Regardless of what he says or does off the track, he's brimming with pure driver talent. If it wasn't for the technological advancements and restricting rules, he'd be way ahead of everyone else.

On the opposite end of the talent scale, if Kevin Harvick lucks and stumbles into a title, it's going to be a tragedy for this sport. I'd rather see Jimme win his 6th, or even that other loser Dale Jr. get one.
