Episode 52 -
Technically, Megatron only asked for the Keys, not the other relics. But, I guess each side figured the relics would also be part of the surrender.
Raf goes from one non-speaker to another.
I like Megatron's considering Jack worth two keys due to his biegn importnt enough to have been entrusted with the Matrix of Leadership. And that it's both Arcee and Smokescreen (who have both been his partners before) who he's exchanged to.
For a second there, instead of a bunch of Jet Vehicons, I thought Wheeljack might come pouring out of that space bridge portal all Gung Ho heroic-like to help save the day, since Megatron seemed to be glaring at the portal as though he wasn't too happy with its appearance. But then again, that also might have done more harm than good since it would have sprung a delicate situation into chaos.
Hi June. Been a while.
"Fōsu Chippu Igunisshon!!!"
Did Megatron just rebuild the Hall of Records?
"
Genesis?!"
Interestingly enough, "New Kaon" was the name of the Decepticons' home planet (after having been kicked off of Cybertron when they lost the Great War) in Transformers Animated.
'Bout time you reacted, Optimus.
DUDE! He cut off Megatron's stolen Prime arm!
Uh, Optimus, striking the Omega Lock kinda puts a damper on your plan to restore Cybertron, you know. I get you did it to save Earth and stop the beam and all, but still.
I like Starscream's wanting Knock Out to tend to Megatron. I like when Starscreams learn their lessons.
Hey, they're opening the silo doors. That's a rarity.
They used the Omega Lock to build a fortress... right next door to Autobot Outpost Omega One.
Megatron: "DECEPTICONS, TRANSFORM AND RISE UP!!!" -
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DIRECT TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED REFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DUDE!!!
Silver Jet Vehicons!!!! Where have these guys been all this time?
AND the Insecticons!
Bulkhead: "Fowler! What are you doing?!"
Foler: "My job, Two-Ton!" - that's the only direct interaction these two have had since Bulkhead came back online. Bite me.
Yeah, like Captain Stacy from
The Amazing Spider-Man, Fowler's a goner.
WHEELJACK!!!!
Optimus orders them to evacuate the base. But... what about Airachnid? She's still frozen in stasis. Should be get freed in the mayhem of the battle... I don't even want to think about it.
Miko and Jack exchange a final glance at each other. If the writers wanted us to ship them together, they've been doing a pretty poor job at making us do so.
June! Get out of there!
Bogus! That Vehicon would have crushed her with her windshield shattered when it fell on top of her car. I'm glad she's okay, but they had to break the laws of physics (
again!) to do it.
Jackie, NO!
I know I'm supposed to feel sad about the Nemesis destroying the base with its superweapon, but all I can think of is... just what was Optimus trying to do when he sliced the computer with the Star Saber???
Also, did Airachnid survive the blast? Yes or no?
What about June and Fowler? They weren't too far away.
Well, there's Optimus's hand, but I doubt he's dead. Once they kill a character in this show, they stay dead. and this is Optimus "marketable" Prime, we're talking about. Kill him off and he's out of the picture for good, and I doubt Hasbro would have it that way.
And... it is over. Big cliffhanger finish in which the Autobots LOSE. And boy do they lose badly in this one. Their base is destroyed, the Omega Lock's destroyed, Their leader has fallen, and they're scattered throughout the nation now. Not to mention the giant Decepticon fortress smack dab in the Nevada desert area. Megatron has successfully humbled and humiliated his adversaries, and brought them to their knees. This was a very cool ending. Not as epically-scaled as the season 1 finale, but still WORLDS better than that one. And it leaves so many open questions for season 3 to answer, but I guess we'll have to wait till then. "Bot to the Future" still felt the most enjoyable of the three season finales we've gotten from the Hub-aired TF cartoons in recent years, but this one was definitely a cool one.
Next season... BEAST HUNTERS!
