So my copy of "The Art of Prime" arrived yesterday and I've spent some time looking through it today.
So far much more satisfying than the Covenant.
Yo remember how the Covenant states that the arm Megatron uses to wield the Forge was Liege Maximo's? Turns out that that's a retcon, the concept sketches in the book refer to it as "Sentinel Prime's arm".
Also, a few other neat little titbit for those who don't have it, Cliffjumper was originally designed to transform into a compact car similar in design to his G1 cartoon appearance, the designer wanted him to be very G1, but then he was told that the Rock was going to voice him now and he should change him into a muscle car since that would better fit his new VA. There wasn't enough time to change much, so he just designed a new alt-mode and a few little things on the bot-mode, which shows why there are so many round forms on his bot-mode that don't translate into the car mode, since he wasn't designed to transform into that.
Starscream's "All Hail Starscream" dance was unscripted and something the animators just did for laughs, the production team decided to leave it in because it was "hilarious, and so Starscream".
Megatron was originally going to be based on his Movie design, and was supposed to have all these twisted metal parts digging into his body and growing out of other body parts to reflect him having suffered in the past. But then they scraped that and opted to redesign the G1 design.
Also, the entire aesthetic of the show is based around Optimus Prime, kinda like Bulkhead was for Animated.
Oh and it smells gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.
