Still waiting on one cohesive Bluray box with all these seasons and some bonus stuff. Probably going to be waiting a while from the looks of it. Then again, anything here will be from Shout, who seem to be completely allergic to bonus extras sometimes(see: Unicron Trilogy re-releases).

OK, full series (minus Predacons rising) out in Pal region, that's already pretty positive. I'll wait for the Blueray release though. The show looks so pretty in HD. :x
It is kinda weird though, that season 1 and 2 are in full season boxes, while the much shorter Beast Hunters is in two volumes pretty weird.

The box designs are pretty cool too, even if not really uniform, far nicer than the Metrodome G1 boxes. :D

That's annoying. I've already imported seasons 1 and 3 on blu-ray, with season 1 being region free. Now I'm not sure whether to go the distance with imported blu-rays (which means getting a region free player) or fall back on to the native VDs.

The designs are fine.

It's the animation itself I was never fan of, with how it took precedence over story and characters in the eyes of the makers. Prettiness should never outweigh the more substantial factors.

I seem to remember you praising the animation for how especially Starscream was bursting with character, especially whenever his wings moved to show his mood.
And I guess the posts you made in this very thread, like the post you started the thread with, were filled with lies and did not actually express your feelings and views about and of the show?

Or do you only really like something when it's new? I noticed that when Rescue Bots got properly started you began praising it for being far better than Prime, tell me, will you leave Rescue Bots by the wayside and start speaking negative about that once the next show hits?

Allow me to clarify. I do like some of the things that were done by the animators, such as those examples with Starscream you mentioned. Those were great. It's just... it's like that those were the only things that mattered more than anything else by the show's creators, that and the epicness, which caused most of the story and characters to fall by the wayside. There is still a lot to like about the show (Starscream being an obvious positive), and as I said, they did make it look pretty, but looking back on the show as a whole, there's a lot that could have been improved upon had the animation not taken so high a precedence as it did, especially in the first season (which I felt even back when that season was airing).

As for Rescue Bots, I still love it, still watch it, its animation has gotten even better and more advanced with each season, I look forward to the rest of this season and season 4, and I still like it more than Prime and RID. 8)

I felt the exact opposite, it took me quite a while to get used to the animating and actually start liking it, to me it was too cartoony to be realistic and too realistic to be cartoony. :BOOM:

But I liked how the creators seemed to take pride in the show and respected it and the subject as much as the fandom did.

Not trying to start a fight here, it's just that I find it odd how you defended the show during its run-time whenever someone had something negative to say about it, and how it was better at things than previous incarnations. But now you seem to not like it as much as you claimed you did back then whenever someone who likes it says something negative about RB and RID, or the Japanese not-sequel.

Story and character wise I think it's fine, well save for the examples I brought up back then, like Optimus Prime, that guy took ages to actually start to make click.

But here's the thing, I prefer a cartoon show to have fantastic animation and an average story, than a better written show with animation that makes my head hurt.

But it'S good to hear that you're sticking to your guns on Rescue Bots.

I've re-watched Prime four times over (that's not an exaggeration), and there's very little wrong with it. Especially for Transformers, the franchise where toys rock and cartoons blow rocks. Just one loose end, a "wasted" sub-arc and a bland Optimus Prime. This is a surprisingly low fault count compared to the rest of the franchise. For the most part, the writing was good and the characters were engaging and realistic. The animation quality was icing on the cake. I'm not going to call Prime the best series ever made (Avatar: The Last Airbender), but it's rather superior to those of the franchise that preceded it and possibly those that succeed it. Without giving this thread loading issues with all of the issues I chalk up with other Transformers cartoons, I conclude that Transformers: Prime is the most tolerable of Transformers media.

Can't be bothered to watch it again right now, though. >:oP

Neither would I had I seen it so many times, well actually I did see parts of the first season multiple times and I'm kinda sick of those parts now too.

Optimus is still one of the weaker points of the series, it took me a full season to warm up to his character, and almost two to like the design, then he got that ugly over-designed Fatimus design in Beast Hunters.

It's sad that it will take at least a decade till we see another series like this.

Agree on Avatar, it still kicks ass today, but there is a strong contester to that position in the form of Gravity Falls.

I do still like Prime and will defend its better aspects. But I can still criticize some of its shortcomings as well. One of the reasons I did more defending than criticizing back when it was airing new episodes was due to its not being done yet and my wanting to hold off on giving it a full analysis until after the whole thing was complete, as I didn't want to jump the gun on things before seeing all that was to come of the show. Now that it's over, I can look back on the whole thing and see all the sides to it and get a better evaluation of its strengths and weaknesses out of it.

Though, most of the stuff I defended were against those whose criticisms seemed a bit too harsh, as though their expectations were too high or were just ragging on the show for the sake of it.

However, now that we got RID, I'm starting to see more people complain that its too different from Prime simply because it isn't as dark and violent as Prime was, claiming that that makes RID an "kiddie" inferior product to the "Gritty And Mature(TM) Prime Cartoon". If this attitude I'm seeing keeps up, the Prime cartoon's gonna be on its way into entering the territory of being "overrated", which I don't want to see happen.

Well, on one hand, Prime being overrated could benefit the show and pull it out from the trivial complaint pit that it was in through a lot of its run. On the other hand, overrated Transformers shows are annoying, and having it constantly pinned as a perfect interpretation of the brand could cause a reverse effect, making it prone to more criticism. This is what happened to Beast Wars for me. When I saw it without hype in mind, I thought it was a practically grade A series. As people started to praise it more and more, and especially started pinning it against other shows like Prime, Beast Machines, etc., I found myself finding flaws left and right. I started to really crack down on the show, and started trying pretty hard to make people see how Beast Wars isn't the godly writing piece everyone makes it out to be. I suppose you can't completely win with a great series. Either the under hype makes it more appealing, the overhype makes it unappealing, or vice-versa. The opinions around us really do have an influence on our own in the long run, whether we're in or against the crowd.

Season 1 was released in five separate volumes previously and Season 2 has just been released in four separate volumes, the box sets are just those volumes collected together. I expected Season 3 will get a box set once the two single volumes are released and perhaps if/when Predcons Rising gets released too.

Probably just a repackaging of all three previous season sets bundled together.
