Uh yeah, sadly they seemed weaker, but remember, that was hand to hand combat last time. This was a fire fight for the most part.

Fair point. And we didn't see Megs use his cannon against the scout, so there's that, too.

Conservation of Ninjutsu, my friend. One Insecticon is a bad-aft super warrior, but get a whole swarm together and they fall apart like Insecticlones.

Episode 36 -

No sooner than the moment the episode begins is bulkhead already aboard the Nemesis... somehow. :|

Oh sure, they're gonna cut to the flashback just before they can tell us of Starscream's condition.

Hey, the Harbinger. Haven't seen that since episode 20.

We finally get a look at what Protoforms look like in this series (as well as in this continuity to boot). and they have Vehicon heads.

Starscream mentions Binary Bonding.

Screamer's gonna turn these Protoforms into clones of himself. Hope they're much different from those seen in Animated (especially since how Skywarp, Thundercracker, Slipstream, Dirge, and Ramjet all already exist in this continuity as separate characters).

Yep, they all look exactly like him. Same colors and all. Good.

So that's how bulkhead got on the ship. Whoops.

Um, Scream, five clones an "armada" does not make.

Oh, NO! I just realized something! If these clones manage to survive this episdoe and become series regulars (or semi-regulars), that will make the Starscream toys become army builders, and the incredibly hard-to-find First Edition figure was/is the most show-accurate and best scaled version of the character. So if I want to have all six Starscreams, I'll have to hunt down five more FE Starscreams! :BOOM:

So it was a clone that Bulkhead clobbered. That explains the T-Cog.

Oh, hai, Airachnid. Seems like she can manipulate the Insecticons with some sort of high-pitched frequency signal. I wasn't fully certain of this last time we saw her, but now I'm more sure.

Now see, Airachnid's got this "armada" thing down with her vast army of Insecticons. That is most definitely an armada (or close enough).

This is the first instance in which we see both the Vehicons and Jet Vehicons side-by-side in the same scene.

Airachnid loses another half-limb (even though she seemed to have either fixed or replaced the one she lost before). And she's been... frozen? Petrified? Immobilized?

    HOLY COW, THE INSECTICONS CAN SPEAK!!!!

And Bulkhead brings down the Nemesis. Poor Trypticon.

At least one Starscream clone survived.

And just where exactly is the Nemesis crash-landing? The government will have a hard time covering this one up.

Ah, so Airachnid is in stasis. Got it. And Arcee thought with her head instead of her heart by not offing her in this state. She is growing even further as a character.

Starscream: "AAAAAAAAGGGHH! SCRAP! THAT HURT!"   Well, at least he now get a new T-Cog. And now that all the clones are gone, there's no need for more than one Starscream toy. Yay. More money saved.

Not quite. These clones are exactly like Starscream, rather than being mere parts of him and colored like the others.

Plus, the Seekers already exist in this continuity. ;)

Known Seekers of this continuity are Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Jetfire (Autobot allegiance), Contrail, Bitstream, Hotlink, Nacelle, Slipstream, Dreadwing.

There's also Dirge and Ramjet, but neither have been officially confirmed as being Seekers yet. Same goes for Skyquake.

Well, Dreadwing claimed to be a leader of a Seeker armada, and Skyquake's his twin of split spark, so doesn't that qualify?

It leads credence to the possibility, but there's still no definitive "Yes" answer.

It's probably possible for one to have connections to the Seekers and not be one. Take Jetfire, for example. In WFC, he was once a Seeker, and even still had some design characteristics of them even as an Autobot, yet when he quit the Seekers and joined the Aerialbots, he was no longer one of the Seekers, despite still resembling one.

Skyquake could have had his body-type without having ever joined the Seekers. We simply do not know. Until we get a precise answer, there's no saying either way for sure.

That was one of the more enjoyable episodes of this season. Plenty of Bulkhead and Starscream and minimal Bumblebee always makes for a better episode.

As others have said, not as "awesome" as the previews made it, but at least they kept the Starscream cloning thing in their back pocket. Not many people, at least on this forum, called that one. And it's a nice twist from what we saw in Animated. i.e. Starscream can feel his clones' pain. "AH SCRAP THAT HURT!!!"

Sabrblade wrote:Um, Scream, five clones an "armada" does not make.

It's Starscream. Over stating his situation is to be expected from him. ;)

Besides, his plan could have worked, if not for Airachnid's attack. Then again, Airachnid's plan might have worked if not for Autobot interference. As for why they stopped Airachnid, there's no guarantee that Airachnid wouldn't turn her Insecticon army on the Autobots and Earth - in fact, one could count on it happening.

My only question is, where were the other named 'cons in this episode? True, Soundwave's never been a front line combatant, but that doesn't explain where Dreadwing and Knock Out were.

Knockout's been chillin with wheeljack, drooling over his alt mode
Really though, lack of knockout makes me wonder exactly were he could be! And as for Dreadwing, well... Playing a game of TF Stratego with Soundwave I guess...

Maybe Dreadwing was airborne during the Insecticon attack, fending them off with the Jet Vehicons, and we just didn't/couldn't see him.

As for Knock Out, maybe he was doing something inside the ship. Who knows? Though, notice that we haven't seen him since before Breakdown was killed? Maybe that affected him in some manner that the writers are saving for the plot of a future Knock Out episode.

I'd just like to point out that the previous insecticon had been out and about on it's own and growing and eating energon for some time before Airachnid found/tamed/siced it on Megatron. The "armada" she sent out appeared to be newly hatched/just out of prolonged stasis. Either one of those situations would have left them weaker than their brother.

At first place, when the Insecticons approached Starscream, they resisted. However, when they approached Airachnid, they're attracted to her. Does that mean Airachnid is at least partially an Insecticon? Remember one of you people once told me, "If I can yell, then so can you." Well, when Arcee gets angry, she yells. So can Airachnid. But by judgement of their voices, Arcee's yelling is completely human. Airachnid's yelling is actually not human, but a monster. That is safe to conclude that even though the Insecticons do talk like humans, they too can yell like monsters do. :CON:

Airachnid was using some high pitched frequency to manipulate the Insecticons.

I don't mind the lack of named decepticons honestly, the story was busy enough without others interjecting.

As for why they didn't let Airarchnid take out Megatron. I look at it like this. There are three outcomes if they didn't try to take out Airachnid right there.

> Megatron wins. Same as if they take her out, but its doubtful she'd be at the front lines and they have her in their sites now.
> Airachnid wins. They just traded off one devil for another they don't know as well, but the new one has tougher drones, a sadistic streak, and likes hunting the natives.
> Push. They passed up a rare shot at taking Airachnid out, and now have a three army fight to deal with.

Vehicons constantly getting scrapped, and with the (now few) main cast decepticons coming in beaten up and battered, since Knockout's the only medic, he's probably been busy. Thats a theory as to were Knockout's been I guess. It also wouldnt surprise me if Dreadwing was out looking for Wheeljack. Them two having epic explosive battles all around the globe.
Eventually they get spotted, and Fowler has to have a talk with team prime.

I was expecting Armada to be a lot more epic, to make up for grill. I liked it nonetheless. I thought Starscream stumbling upon an epic and effective cloning machine that's still working after eons was kind of dumb though.

Nobody's mentioning the effects of the ship being grounded? Will the Autobots raid it, forcing Megatron and the cons underground? Or will they simply repair it before the Autobots have time to take it down? OR, will the ship turn out to be a GIANT DECEPTION?
lol jk, but it should be interesting, considering the lack of knowledge of the Decepticons' whereabouts is what keeps the series running.

My opinions on "Armada"

-Really thought the screamer clones would get different colors.

-Insecticon army under megatron's control? EPIC!!!

-Bulkhead trying to escape was kinda "eh" IMO,seems thrown in for the kiddies.

-Loved the Aireal Insecticon barrage on the Nemesis. Again,EPIC!!

And here I was worried megs was going to run out of cannon fodder.

have airachnids(sp) eyes always been purple, isn't that supposed to mean dark energon exposure?

Is it just me or did the writers miss a nice opportunity to bring in skywarp and thundercracker. Maybe that would bring some relevance to the am-06 skywarp toy!

Apparently they already exist in this continuity, but don't share Starscream's form, despite the AM figure.

Judging by the preview of next episode, it eventually get airborne again.

lol jk,
Possibly, consdeirng how TV Guide describes the ship as coming alive and, well, it its Trypticon after all. ;)

Her eyes are naturally purple, yes.

And the AM figure is a Japanese exclusive, as it had no Hasbro counterpart upon its release. And there aren't any current plans to put in any other Seekers who share Starscream's body-type, as they want to focus on Starscream as a unique individual.

If/when Thundercracker and Skywarp appear, they better have their own forms. Vehicons, Jet Vehicons, Miner Vehicons, Insecticons, and Skyquake/Dreadwing are more than enough "clones", thank you very much.
