I don't see how so. Everything outside the games and cartoons seem to put a lot of effort into putting the pieces together well enough.

In WFC before Optimus became a Prime, they still called him Optimus. In Prime, the idea of dark energon seemed like it was a new thing. All the Autobots and Decepticons look different in the flash backs and whatnot. And, if you count the books as a part of the universe, things add up even less.

If Optimus had the memories from his original self why didn't he know what the Star Saber looked like.

The looking different part has never bugged me. All you have to do is look at comic books. Superman has been drawn by a bazillion people, and besides where he isn't, he's been the same Superman.

Because he was rechristianed "Optimus Prime" long before the start of the game's events. He just kept rejecting the title of leadership until Sentinel Zeta Prime met his end and both the Council and the Core finally convinced him of his true calling.

SlyTF1 wrote:In Prime, the idea of dark energon seemed like it was a new thing.
I have watched that scene countless times over. Starscream's surprise towards the stuff comes from its scarcity, the simple fact that Megatron even found some of it is what surprised him. The exposition they give about it is for the audience watching the show who haven't played the games or read the books.

Ratchet and Optimus even express a keen familiarity with Dark Energon just one episode later.

SlyTF1 wrote:All the Autobots and Decepticons look different in the flash backs and whatnot.
Because Hasbro doesn't give two cents about aesthetics in the Aligned continuity. In FOC, Optimus suddenly has a new body when there's no sign of him having ever upgraded between games, and Rescue Bots gives both him and Bumblebee altered designs from their Prime cartoon ones, despite the two cartoons taking place at the same time (meaning their Rescue Bots bodies are supposed to be the same bodies as their Prime ones).

SlyTF1 wrote:And, if you count the books as a part of the universe, things add up even less.
The books form more of a backbone to the universe than anything else in it does. They're the things that help piece everything together, along with all those Dinobot-themed comics.

Speaking of Rescue Bots, back in Prey, Ultra Magnus only picked up five Autobot signatures, which Jack notes should be "out of seven." It's still kind of weird when you consider there's eleven Autobots on Earth. Maybe Jack just doesn't know about the Rescue Bots...but that's still four signatures unaccounted for.

Just food for thought.

I could think of a number of things, but I'm willing to bet it was just poor communication between the creative teams or it just slipped through the cracks. Not everyone has a Sabrblade or JelZe to consult.

Jeff Kline is in charge of both, even being the guy who said they're in the same continuity. But yeah, it's probably just something they didn't catch. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

The first book tells the story of the video games.

And both the "Rage of the Dinobots" and "Prime Beast Hunters" comic series all connect the games to the cartoon.

And then you got the Covenant of Primus book connecting EVERYTHING (well, almost everything, since it doesn't mention Rescue Bots or the Beast Hunters comics).

There's also the design for the Core being the same:

TF-wise, I can't think of a better TF series for it crossover with, other than maybe Animated. All others are too differently-toned or... anime.

Seriously though while I have no interest in ever seeing a Transformers and MLP crossover, I could see why some would want one. My personal opinion is just

In terms of tone, maybe.

There was a little-known YouTube series that someone did where TFP and MLP crossed over. He made the interactions between characters hilarious.

In a later short, everyone argued over who was best pony.

Personally, I don't think TV shows should cross over period. The stories usually suck.

Regarding the little disparity between Rescue Bots and Prime regarding the numbers Ultra Magnus counts, I kinda subscribe to the theory that the Rescue Bots don't arrive on Earth until after the Autobots' original base is destroyed and move into Hanger E. The Rescue Bots do meet Optimus at a military base, not the abandoned silo in the main series, after all. Doesn't account for Bumblebee still being yellow instead his new black colors, though.

If one takes into account the Twitter of Nicole Dubuc, then that can't work for at least two reasons:

1. Ms. Dubuc once Tweeted that the person that Dr. Morocco was talking to on the phone in episode 13 of Rescue Bots was Silas (but the line got cut), who was fatally injured in episode 34 of Prime, requiring that those events on Rescue Bots season 1 happen earlier than that.

2. Ms. Dubuc also Tweeted that season 2 of Rescue Bots is supposed to take place during early season 2 of Prime, forcing all of season 1 to take place during Prime season 1.

:CON:

Which leaves four possibilities:

1. At the end of season 2 the Rescue Bots leave Earth
2. The Rescue Bots go back in time during Prime Season 3 and end up during Dinosaur times (would explain the Dino modes they have now)
3. Season 2 ends with them all dieing horribly
4. They decided that RB is no longer in continuity with Prime and UM's line was their way of confirming that within the Prime continuity.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

The Rescue Bots do meet Optimus at a military base, not the abandoned silo in the main series, after all. Doesn't account for Bumblebee still being yellow instead his new black colors, though.

Or 5. The Rescue Bots are somehow untraceable, since the Decepticons have yet to detect their energy signatures as well. ;)

Also, the second Tweet about season 2's timeperiod came long after TF: Prime ended, so they haven't discarded the idea yet. Magnus's line was probably a small whoops.
