It was yeah. Layla actually has some wrestling ability (not sure of her background) and she really brought out the wrestler in Natalya. You could almost say it was a technical match (but that may be going overboard)

I just watched Randy Orton: Evolution of a Predator on Netflix. Very, very good documentary. A clear, detailed, precise look at Orton in his career and his personal life. It was 60/40 in favor of his career, but I still learned a lot about Randy as a person, and how his life affected his career for the good and the bad, and vice versa. Definitely recommended.

How exactly do they talk about his first winning the World Title considering the guy he won it from is now persona non grata as far as the history of WWE is concerned?

They managed to pull it off without a showing or mentioning of Benoit. They didn't show any part of the match, just Orton's celebration afterwards, followed by comments from Orton, HHH, and a few others about how it was too soon for him, even though he had nowhere to go but the main event by that time. Honestly, I didn't even think about who he won it from.

After watching all 28 WrestleManias and the accompanying Hall of Fame ceremonies, here are my top 10 favorite WM matches, in no particular order after the Iron Man Match, which I consider the greatest of all time, followed by my top 10 HoF inductions, also in no particular order after Bret Hart.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (Iron Man Match, WrestleMania XII)
Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant (Heavyweight Championship Match, WrestleMania III)
Bret Hart vs. Roddy Piper (Intercontinental Championship Match, WrestleMania VIII)
Roddy Piper vs. Goldust (Hollywood Back Lot Brawl, WrestleMania XII)
Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin (Submission Match, WrestleMania XIII)
The Rock vs. Hollywood Hogan (WrestleMania X-8)
Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar (Heavyweight Championship Match, WrestleMania XIX)
HHH vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit (Heavyweight Championship Match, WrestleMania XX)
HHH v.s John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Heavyweight Championship Match, WrestleMania XXIV)
Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania XXV)

Bret "Hitman" Hart (2006)
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper (2005)
Bobby "The Brain" Heenan (2004)
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair (2008)
Ron Simmons (2012)
"The Rated R Superstar" Edge (2012)
Bob Uecker (2010)
Sunny (2011)
"Iron" Mike Tyson (2012)
"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (2005)

And this just made me laugh...

Only in the new generation, I think. I would like to hope that most of us who became fans prior to 2006 still know who he is, and can look past what happened to remember the great matches he had.

Anyways, picked up Wrestlemania earlier this week. First thing I did was watch Taker/Trips, which actually manages to hold together on a repeat viewing. (Though it must be said that about 75% of that is thanks to Shawn. And incidentally, with WWE putting out a box set covering Taker's streak in July, and with this match being on it, I really feel like I've wasted my money, since, aside from that and Rock/Cena, this Wrestlemania was pretty forgettable, even if it was still better than last year's.)

My favorite match with Benoit is the 2003 Royal Rumble match against Kurt Angle. As close to perfect as it gets, IMO. But my favorite Benoit moment is when he won the title at WMXX.

I have every WrestleMania, so unless there's an awesome commentary and perhaps even comments from past opponents included, I probably won't get that set. As for WMXVIII, I thought the Punk-Jericho match was also really good.

Laurinaitis "fired" Big Show last week for making fun of his voice. Then, at the end of the show, it was revealed that if anyone interfered in the match, they would get fired and that if Laurinaitis lost, he would be canned as Raw/Smackdown GM.

So in essence, they gave away the end of the match, thus giving absolutely no reason at all for anyone to order it.

Yeah, those two matches are probably among the best matches of all time. Too bad they're not likely to be seen ever again.

Even though I have a couple of Undertaker WM matches on various box sets already, I'll be getting that one because it's got matches I haven't seen.

And as for Over the Limit last night...well, I was right that Show would get involved. Too bad I was wrong about who would win the match. :BANG_HEAD:

Is it really any surprise to see him turn heel? He seems to do better in the role.

The whole story with him and Tonsillitis though was disappointing.

Not unless you got it on a previously released DVD. Or in my case, VHS.

My top 10 Taker WM matches, in no particular order:

WM13 vs. Sycho Sid
WMXII vs. Diesel
WMXXV vs. HBK
WMXXVI vs. HBK
WMX-Seven vs. HHH
WMXXVII vs. HHH
WMXXVIII vs. HHH
WM21 vs. Randy Orton
WMX-8 vs. Ric Flair
WMXIX vs. Big Show and A-Train

Also, since The Streak is being released on DVD, does that mean it's over? It would be stupid to have this set and then he has another match at WMXXIX. Unless it's a loss.

I just can't watch it now..
I put it on, watched a little of it and after Big show cried that no one had any sympathy for him last week (total bullshit, as everyone was in shock last week) I am done... WWE is not complete crap, I have better shows to watch so I will monitor this thread and when I see the angle is over I will start watching it again.

I don't. The only pre-2007 WWE release I own is "Tombstone: The History of the Undertaker", and there's no Benoit matches on that. (Did they ever work together?) I'd like to think that there may be a change with regard to Benoit, since he appears in two clips in the Best of Nitro set, though not in any wrestling capacity, but I doubt it'll ever happen. Maybe I can find some used DVD's at a shop or something...

It's pretty obvious that Taker's done as a full time wrestler, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a retirement announcement by the end of the year.

I only watched thef rirst ten minutes or so, enough to know that I really don't want to watch it every again, really. Though I did watch enough of the end to want to ask when Tensai stopped being a Lord.

I know he's not excluded from the Royal Rumble set that was released in 2007. It came out right around the time he did what he did, but everything of him is still included, probably because it was printed and distributed before it happened.

No, I think if he's gonna retire it will be at WrestleMania. He won't just fade away, unless they're keeping some serious injury a secret, and based on his performance at WMXXVIII, it doesn't seem so. He will get his retirement match on the "grandest stage." Anything else would be less than fitting. That's why I think he will end the Streak with a loss to someone. I just hope they won't blow it and give the opportunity to someone who can take it a long way. NOT Cena, or Daniel Bryan. Maybe Orton? Or Sheamus? Or even Punk?

As for RAW, the Laurinaitis angle has become ridiculous. I am the same way as CB, I won't watch anymore unless this guy is off TV. He's not even fun to hate. He's like Cole was last year. And what the hell is the WWE thinking anymore with Cena? Losing to Rock? Good. Then Lesnar comes in and becomes probably the WWE's biggest drawing card instantaneously, and what happens? He gets buried by Cena, only to have Cena lose to this failed wrestler turned suit? Seriously? I really hope fans leave in droves and hurt Vince in his wallet. That's the only thing that will snap them out of this crap and force them to put on quality stuff. And they're saying Raw will be 3 hours long starting with the 1000th show? What are they gonna fill 3 hours with? They can't even fill 2 with good stuff. At least Orton is somewhat back in the title picture. I like Punk and Sheamus, but Orton has to be a champion. He's the future of this company, not Cena or Punk.

That's a little harsh, don't you think? I mean, I was never a big fan of Cole's hell turn last year, and I agree that Laurinaitis isn't even fun to hate, but all comparing Laurinaitis' current thing with that does is make Cole's heel turn look like the best idea since sliced cheese.

Though I will admit that I agree with what Cena said: bring back the computer already. Even on its worst day, it's still ten times more exciting that what they're doing now.

I watched Raw on YouTube just to see what Vince would do and because I had 2 hours to waste. It was awesome to see Vader back, even if his timing was a bit off and if it was just for one night. He didn't seem to be any smaller, even though it looked like he was less muscular and more flabby. And am I the only one who's bothered that he's not wearing his red-on-black outfit he had in the 90s?

I caught Raw this week, too. It's says a lot about the state of the roster when a nostalgia star can get a bigger pop than anyone else.

Sadly, I don't think Vince learned his lesson from the Over the Limit disaster. By saying that Show has to win or else Laurinaitis will get fired, he has, once again, given away the ending of the match @ the PPV. Because, as much as we might like it, Laurinaitis will NOT get fired. And by saying that Cena will get fired if Show wins, it means that there's going to be some kind of screwjob in the finish, since Cena isn't going to get fired either.
