My absolute favorite memory of Transformers as a child comes from my experience with the original Transformers movie. My father took me to see it in theaters. The credits were rolling in and the hairs were standing all over my body. I knew I was in store for one of the best experiences of all time. I remember vividly when Daniel and Hot Rod were by the lake fishing and I was so jealous that I couldn't be fishing with a Transformer. Childish, I know, but I was a little kid at the time. It was when Stan Bush's "Dare" kicked in and I saw Hot Rod interacting with Daniel that my bond with Hot Rod became evident. My love for Transformers became indefinite at that moment. Shortly after that scene is when Optimus dies and I remember sobbing and grabbing my dad's hand asking him if Optimus was coming back. My dad had absolutely no idea, but he assured me all would be well.
By the end of the movie, Hot Rod proves himself and becomes Rodimus Prime. I left that theater knowing I had a new best friend. I felt my dreams came true with that movie. To this day it is my favorite film. Here I am a grown man, and I can honestly say, the highly of my year so far was the day MP09 Rodimus Convoy arrived at my house. I have a son now who is nine months old. I can't wait to introduce him to the same experiences.

My fondest memeory has to be when I would get picked up from school and then going over to the babysitters to watch afternoon cartoons. Transformers G1 was always one of the ones me and my friends never missed.
Long live the Decepticons!! I love G1 Starscream!!

Don't tell Starscream, but I'm in love with movieverse Ironhide! ;)

My favorite memory was when they introduced my favorite character, Grimlock. Being a kid that loved both Transformers and Dinosaurs, this was like My Holy Grail. They seeing him thought the years and in the movie, he only got better and better each time we saw him.

When I was 5, I loved dinosaurs. I was in Wal-Mart looking for something to ask my mom to buy me, and I found a Beast Machines Triceradon. I couldn't believe it: my favorite thing in the entire world, that turned into a robot. I used him when I played dinosaurs all the time, blowing up the meteor that would've made the dino's go extinct. He was my only Transformer for a long time, and I forgot he was actualy a Transformer, just a dinosaur superhero. Then Armada came out, and Unicron showed me that even the greatest hero needs a great villan. And backup in the form of Minicons. Since then I've still been bringing in reinforcements for both sides, thanks to one Autobot that saved my original passion all those years ago.

i think it would be when i was quite young, and my dad had been away for a while (it can only have been about a week but i was small) with work, and when he came back, he and my mum told me and my brother to do this thing we used to do if there were ever non-celebration related gifts where we would sit on the sofa with our eyes closed and our hands out like a shelf, and then something would be put on our hands and we could open our eyes.
I can't remember what my brother got of course, but I opened my eyes to be staring at the box of armada red alert. My first figure, as good as my first introduction to TF's (Armada had been on morning TV sometimes, but only sometimes), and it is still one of my favourite figures to this day. :x

My favorite, & most precious, Transformers memory from my childhood involves my grandfather (Walter, my mom's dad) & the Marvel limited series adaptation of Transformers: The Movie. My mom's parents didn't get along with my father, so they rarely made the 7-hour drive down from Deer Park, NY to visit us. When they finally did, 6-year-old, 1986-redeco Me was elated. When my grandparents showed up, my grandfather presented me with all 4 issues of the limited series, & I thusly lost my mind. A few years later, after he'd passed, I realized just how grand it was that my 70-year old grandfather knew that I liked comics & Transformers, drove to the comic book store in Levittown or wherever, & bought me the whole set.

Also waking up Christmas morning to Omega Supreme driving around the base of the tree, that ruled.

When TFs came out in 1984 I was 13. I was still huge into playing with toys so I quickly got hooked. I watched the TV shows as much as possible but was only able to snag Gears as my first TF. I was able to trade some kids to get a few more figs and received Megatron and "Shack"wave for Christmas of '84. I had an extra decepticon logo from Megatron's sticker sheet so I put it on Shackwave to make him meld better with Hasbro TFs. I collected here and there through G1 and only picked up a renewed interest when Armada was ending. Energon got me re-hooked and I have been collecting, watching, going to the movies since.
Take it easy,

The first Transformer I remember getting was Hot Spot. I had no idea what it was or the obsession it would soon inspire. All I can remember asking is, "Is this a lego set?".

My favorite memory of Transformers as a kid has got to be the month of December. Since both my Birthday and Christmas are in December that was the one time of year I was able to get new transformers toy, accept for the random score at the flee market (Diaclone Shockwave). Of course I wanted every toy in the line up that year, which wasn't going to happen, but somehow my mom always managed to get the one big figure that I wanted the most. The toys were priceless to me, and while I would have my fun playing with them, the ones that could went back into there boxes when not battling for control of Cybertron. Twenty some odd years later I still have my original collection, and while they all have there particular spot on a shelve, it doesn't stop my son and I from talking them down and having a few epic battles of our own. I guess my favorite memory's are still being made everyday with my family.

My favorite childhood memory of Transformers is getting the comic book from the bookstore on the base my dad was stationed on overseas. The Base Exchange rarely got new Transformers, but the bookstore always got the new comics. I'd get them and read them to the Transformers I did have and pretend we were getting updates from the USA. It made home feel closer than it was.

My favorite Transformers memory as a kid was my family trip to Virginia Beach. I was a Generation 2 kid around 7 or 8 at the time. My parents told me I could only bring a handful of bots on the trip with me, so I'd have to be smart about who I picked. Who to bring?

Naturally, I decided to pick the Transformers that were best suited to a beach. For the Autobots, I went with Beachcomber and Seaspray. They would be investigating something being built on the beach by Scavenger and Scrapper.

Prime gave them their mission to invesitagte and stop them, my parents woke me up early that morning, and my Transformers and I were on our way.

Sadly, most of those 4 were lost over the years, but I was able to replace my G2 Beachcomber last Summer. He sits on my dresser, a memory of old times, and why I still love this franchise.

My favorite memories about Transformers was going to the stores and seeing the cool new waves of toys that just came out. Absolutely the best time was when Hot Rod, Kup and Blurr first came out. Seeing these futuristic vehicles and not knowing (yet) how their characters tied into the show/movie was unforgettable. I was a kid in a candy store. Then the movie came out and it was the greatest thing I had ever seen. Unlike most fans, I actually was ok with all the characters dying to bring in the new ones.

I know a lot of people hate G1 Starscream, but not me. After waiting several hours in the waiting room of the hospital for my mom to give birth to my one and only sibling, my dad took me to a merchandise store (Best) to buy me a Transformer. We got back to the waiting room where my dad helped me apply the stickers to Starscream. No Transformer before or since has had their stickers applied better. Several hours later, my brother was born. Since then, whenever my brother's birthday rolls around, I remember that it's also the "birthday" of my Starscream.

Having grown up without toys - I did enjoy generation one of transformers and watch as much as I could. However - my fondest memories is when I remember back in 2000 when my son Dillon was five and we watched R.I.D. - his first toy was towline - he must have transformed him hundred times a day. It went everywhere with him. We both got attached to the toy line and all the combiners. Every season we would enjoy the new season and it's twist. Nine years later we have amass pretty much every season of toys in our oun museum of fun.

Well with my love of Transformers for over the past 27 years. All my memories seem to be rather eventful from the first time seeing the 3 part movie episodes on TV which aired on NBC and seeing such cartoon awesomeness!!! To getting my first Transformers figures at my local SEARS which were Megatron and Hound that my Dad had purchased for me. Awww memories which are more than meets the eye!!!

i was a wee thing when Transformers made its debut in 1984, but even at the tender age of three, i was madly in love with Bumblebee. i wanted nothing at all more in the world than to have a Bumblebee figure. my parents searched and searched everywhere for YEARS, but he was never to be found anywhere around where we lived. one year though, in 1986 i think it was, i came downstairs on Easter morning to find my basket sitting on the dining table in my grandmother's house. There was no Bumblebee in my basket (alas, i didn't get my G1 Bumblebee until 2010!), but nestled into the plastic grass and munching on my candy was Kickback, in all his Insecticon glory. he wasn't the Bumblebee i had so desperately wanted, but that never mattered because my family remembered that i loved Transformers and had paid enough attention to my likes and dislikes enough to find a figure that i would be able to love just as much.
