I will never watch Last Jedi again, and I will not see Episode 9 in theaters. And I will not see any Star Wars films that have anything directly to do with the Sequel Trilogy.

I will see Solo in theaters though, and as long as they keep making a Anthology films outside of the main continuity, I’ll watch those. As long as they don’t make A Star Wars Story about the sequel trilogy.

Yeah,I agree with the feeling.I'm not excited for future films, especially if they keep going this direction.

I know I have already posted videos on the previous page, but I feel these show the current state of Star Wars.

On the other side,Lando is shaping up to be the best part of the Solo movie.

I just saw Solo. Very good origin story I recommend it. It's also a pretty good action movie on its own.

Not much from the original trilogy is referenced besides Tatooine and Jabba the Hutt. However, Darth Maul makes a cameo (played by Ray Park) which puts this story before (or at least during) Phantom Menace. It was definitely left open for at least one sequel.

But we know darth maul was active till a few years before a new hope. Isn't the empire in this as well? Not to mention han would be obi wan kenobi old in a new hope ;-)the guy playing han has already said he's contracted to do more films the last of which I expect to have an after credits bit where they park up in mos eisley and end up waiting for work when an old man and a blond kid approach them..

Okay you knew that but I didn't. :-P I thought he died in PhantomMenace. So then maybe this takes place after. The storm troopers have the same armor in this they did in New Hope. The only other sign of the Empire is a star destroyer seen during the Kessel Run.

Lol no biggie :-) I remember the Internet made a big fuss when lucas revealed that darth maul was going to turn up in the clone wars series. Though luckily for lucas, maul was one of the best things from the phantom menace so a lot of people were happy with that.

I think people just wanted to see the character expanded upon.

Shame about the final battle between him and Kenobi, really was a blink and you miss it thing.

Back to Solo ... I've actually lost interest in seeing it. Is Lando the highlight of the movie as some reviewers have suggested?

I didn't think so. He was a supporting character in the original trilogy and he is the same here. Donald Glover channeled Billy Dee Williams very well, and he played Lando very sly, even borderline sleazy. I would say next to Han and Chewie the highlight of the movie was the Falcon. I did think that Han was played nearly identical to how Chris Pratt played Star Lord in Guardians. But that's not a bad thing.

Funny you say that as he was rumoured for the role at one point (I like pratt but I think the guy they got, looks a bit more like a young Harrison Ford)

It could be really cool, if handled well. The current track record is shakey though.

I quickly realized I better scroll down and lightly scan the last few posts.

I'm seeing Solo in about 4 hours. While I'm excited, I'm trying to keep my expectations low and an open mind.

See you guys in a few hours.

I do. The adventures of an intergalactic bounty hunter have limitless possibilities. And the writers don't even have to bother with the origin story, because we know where he comes from. I'm not a big fan of the character, after all he's just a minor supporting character, but I would like to see his story be expanded. Also, the stand alone movies have been way better than Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Well, maybe it's just me, and maybe it's due to Karen traviss's abysmal EU novels, but I find Fett to be an incredibly boring and pointless character.

Also, I want a freaking Vader movie.

Which is why I'm not interested either.

What's to tell? As a young child he watched a Jedi murder his father so he took up the Mandalorian armour and became a bounty hunter and hunted people across the galaxy.

Then he fell in the sarlac pit. Then he climbed out.

What's there to really tell?

The story where he mercilessly hunts an imposter using his armour and his name and then kills him for being a screw up and mucking with his reputation...which he proceeds to do himself as he gets taken out by blind luck (literally)

I personally think you could do a hell of a lot with a Boba Fett Movie if they go in with the right mindset. The fact that he’s a blank canvas can be a huge plus for the movie. They could do almost anything they want with him and it would still make sense.

Oh and SOLO was great fun. I really enjoyed it. Honestly I wouldn’t be opposed to Alden Ehrenreich coming black as Han in a sequel if they decide to make one. He was great.

Technically that's what the original prequel trilogy was about. The rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker.

But there's a gap between Revenge and New Hope that would be full of potential Vader stories. (Which they're using the comics for to tell)

I personally really want a standalone Obi-Wan movie. That is the film I would really want to see. And keep Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. the fact that he played Obi through 3 films and the entirety of the Clone Wars series and is so well loved by the fandom should be screaming evidence to you that he deserves a solo movie

The original trilogy was about Luke, the prequels were about Anakin. We have never had a Vader movie.

There is no possible way Vader stomping ass and taking names could get boring.

So if the sequence from Rogue One where he attacks Leila's ship were stretched out into a 2-hour-plus "movie" you would find that exciting?

They're more likely to go along the lines of the comics where we're forced to read about how he struggles with what's happened ... in other words, Darth Emo.

I would hope they would set it a number of years after the Empire is firmly established and Emo is out.

I would also want to see (given how well her series is doing) Doctor Aphra and evil C-3PO and evil R2-D2.
