There are many who are worse then Bay and we also still have the rest of the film crew including that turd who dares call himself a writer Kruger.

Plus Bay can do action and lets say the replacement can't make good action and also have a lack of focus on Transformers.

Although I hope Spielberg would direct TF5,yes, I agree with you,we might get a wreck of a director who dares call himself a director.Michael Bay's action scenes were extremely good IMO (maybe its because I love Transformers) but I think a few improvements should be made. For example,a very dark tone in the storyline and reduction of notorious plot holes. But to all fans out there, what if the new director is so much worse than Michael Bay that he fails to see what can improve the Transformers miserably and has a very bad designer who gives nothing but horrible designs to the robots.(we might have new characters)
These are just my hopes.Whether they become justified or not, only time will tell. So,yes,I would take it with a grain of salt and not more than that.

Both Bay and Paramount have thrown curves at us before, I refuse to give them credit until I see it with my own eyes.

Regardless of whether he'll actually do it this time around, I think it's a good idea for him to at least go do something else for a while before coming back to TF, if he ever wants to come back.

Imagine doing 4 movies based on something you were never a fan of, and were only given one non-TF movie to do before continuing. Seriously, the man needs a break. No matter how much money he's making, his creative juices seem to be draining.

In the past 3 movies, he's been able to choreograph some unique and different fight scenes. In AOE, for the first time, he's had to recycle an idea he's already used, repeating the part in the DOTM highway chase where Bee transforms into bot mode, pushes debris away from his human passenger(s) and transforms back into a car. Yes, this time we have OP doing it with Bee, and they jump over a bridge, but it's fundamentally the same.

TL;DR - like him or hate him, I think it's time for him to say goodbye, or at least take a long break to recharge his batteries.

I'm still kinda new around here. I learned quickly, if I don't want to start a fight(which is not why I joined), to keep my Baypinion to myself. That being said, here I go...

Why Is Bird's name blocked out in those earlier posts? He'd be a good choice, but he'd never take the job. Plus he's a bigger pain in the #$@ then Bay. Master at what he does though.

I don't care who directs, this is what I'd like to see different.

1. New writers. Those guys have slaughtered enough Sci/Fi Fantasy franchises to fill a cargo freighter, and that's taking up precious cargo space that could be filled with more Masterpiece figures.

2. New art direction. Hollywood has this bad habit of shooting steroids straight into the testicles of some of our most beloved heroes. There is already 30 plus years of awesome character design for the Transformers. Japanese robot design is an art form in itself. Let's see that in a movie.

3. PUT THE CAMERA DOWN.

Why is the answer to the question about, can't we have a movie that's more robot less human, there's no budget for that. How much money did AOE make? $389,998,735,200.32?

one more tiny thing. I don't think Optimus yells "I'll kill you", at people. he wouldn't even yell that at Megs.

Sorry I blew it.
Really interesting choice.
It seems he only tells stories he really wants to tell. I wonder if he has any interest in TFs?

I could think of a bunch of cartoon directors that would be good for the job.

And the very first lines he spoke in the movie were "I'll kill you!" which were spoken to Cade/Tessa/Lucas even if he wasn't in his right mind, thinking they were his previous attackers (who were Cemetery Wind, i.e. - humans).

Seeing as though he can control his violent nature, I see it as a very admirable trait. I like exploring his mental and psychological state. He's about the only character in the existence of anything I feel I can actually do that with. I'm quite sure he wanted to murder Joshua during that KSI raid, you can see it in his eyes. But he didn't. Most characters are either blatantly evil, or extremely passive and anti-killing. Not Optimus. Given his record, I think I can say movie Optimus enjoys violence. But he only uses it in the heat of battle, or for the greater good of everyone around him.

I paraphrased just to show evidence that one could make a movie about the TF's and leave out the human D-bags and hussies.

OP was in a pretty panicked state. He did not know who woke him up.
But he says that line so many times in the movie I lost count.

Don't waste your time trying to reason with him. Sly has made it no secret that he's a psycho, he loves violence and I sure as hell hope he never owns a gun.

Not anymore. Now he's voiced by Bud Luckey.

"Murderous" is not a quality to be admired. It's the exact opposite of admirable.

"Enjoying violence" for "murderous" purposes is not a quality to be admired.

Don't waste your time trying to reason with him. Sly has made it no secret that he's a psycho, he loves violence and I sure as hell hope he never owns a gun.

I prefer swords.

Besides, I mean Optimus being able to control his violent nature as well as he does is admirable. Anyone can be murderous. But being able to not act on impulse, or being able to deny one's nature, especially when that nature is destructive, or morally questionable, is a quality I think everyone should posses.

I just like that the movie never comes out and says Optimus is a psychopath. But it can definitely be implied. Which adds realism to a character who's spent the last few thousand years of his life doing nothing but killing. That's like, the major thing I give the Michael Bay and the writers credit for. And without Bay, I don't think there would have ever been any incarnation with this type of realistic take on Optimus.

Well, technically he is killing since 2009. Before RotF he was as some kind of nerdish emo underdog (Witch was fine, since it was the first time someone directly suggested, that Autobots are inferior). That is one of the main arguments against Michael Bay - he decide to change everything because no good reason and ruined a completly good plot.

Plus timeline in Movieverse is so unstable, it is really hard to consider anything outside Earth "Canon."

And no, Bayformerse isn't realistic. And it never supposed to be. Action movies aren't designed to mimic real life. The main problem is, since RotF, plot holes became a Granfather's Paradox size abominations in reality itself.
