BBB is a kid appealing character, I think that his spin-off is attempt to make Movieverse more kids-oriented.

However, that is what makes him such uninteresting character. In the end it's some kind of Big, mettalic Pikachu. In Comics thay tried to change that, but every movie so far, Michael Bay showed them all his middle finger.

Stand In Logos for Transformers Films 6 (Bumblebee) and 7 Revealed in Consumer Conference

Hasbro's 2016 Jeffries Consumer Conference was held today and the slide show can be seen here. While you will find graphs of record revenues and growing profit margins (I guess those cost reduction tactics are paying off), with Transformers charaters littered throughout, one very interesting slide comes mid way. It is when they are discussing the media angle to their franchises and speak of the Transformers Cinematic Unvierse. The three upcoming films are presented and each have a logo. While the logo for the Last Knight is the finished logo, the other two are similar to the stand in logo Transformers 5 used to sport.

The relevant image is below.

Hope everyone's a fan of Movieverse and Generations, 'cause it looks like we aren't getting anything else...

^ But will they get toys? I don't see the toyline managing to run three separate sub-lines concurrently; a "collector" line and a "kiddie" line seems to be the maximum. And with a movie coming out every year now, there's not enough time to run a RiD line (much less get anything beyond the main characters yet again).

Do you think kids really give a crap about anything outside of the movies and possibly generations these days?

They have been doing this for 9 years. We had Prime, the movies and Generations at the same time, all these toys below are from 2014:

This is just status quo.

Think about it, as far as tv since 2007 there has been Animated, Prime and RID

Within that time we had 4 Films

And also at the same time we had the following lines which made up Classics: Universe, RTS and Generations.

They even had Rescue Bots at the same time of all this catering to an even younger line.

I really do not see why after almost 10 years any of this would change, Hasbro boasts in the same slideshow that they are producing more product than ever and it has increased their revenue and gross margin. No reason they would stop that.

^ That's a touch misleading. Prime the cartoon ended in 2013, it's toyline continued on as filler until AoE came and completely replaced it (apart from the odd straggler).
With a movie coming every year now, there's just not going to be time for anything other than a token appearance by the cartoon's toyline -- Movie toys hit shelves ~May, get active releases until Christmas, and leftover stock sits for a few months more, and soon gets replaced by the next Movie toys. The only chance RiD can get is right after the holidays but before the summer movie season begins, which is just dreadful.

They can run Generations alongside, obviously (likely because it's aimed at a different demographic), but I don't think they can run a third line. Especially since Movie and Cartoon both fit the same "kids" niche.
And since Generations is bent on these line-wide gimmicks and being SUPER G1, there's not much chance of them sneaking in someone from the current cartoon.

And Rescue Bots is a different aisle entirely.

We'll see. I'll be on the optimistic side of things :)

Pfffff... "Cinematic Universe." If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was a good thing, but in reality I know it's just going to prolong suffering with the Bayverse.

Every studio in Hollywood wants their own "Cinematic Universe," drooling with imagined riches after the successes of Marvel.

I even saw reports of a supposed Men in Black/21 Jump Street crossover film that was being considered.

We'll never have a proper cinematic universe with Bay at the helm.

He ruined the traditional franchise look with horrors like Que, Brains, Ironhide, Frenzy, Hound, Drift and the Twins.

How can the franchise ever be taken seriously with robots sporting hair, buckteeth and samurai
Armour?

The reason franchises like the Avengers, Lord of the Rings, Batman and X Men are successful is respect for the source material.

Bay hasn't shown that since he began. Weak writing and silliness are his legacy.

Of these, I actually liked most of them. Que was a pretty sweet character with the whole Einstein Genius thing; Ironhide was finally the Ironhide that looked as badass as you would expect from the character and to me is the best representation of him we have got. Hound was was essentially movie Bulkhead which was awesome and he loved his guns, just like some other characters we know from other universes, and Drift was still cool looking.

He has homaged some very basic source material, but left most of it and at times all of it behind, but that is ok. It's a whole new take, and some of the movie looks are still very cool and very awesome and the new personalities alright. Hound really should have been named Bulkhead, but it's something different, and I can appreciate it for what it is
