I'm sure there are others out on here that are into TMNT. Discuss.

The 4Kids cartoon from the 2000s is the best iteration of this franchise.
Perfect mix of dark storytelling and humour, definitely the most mature and fleshed out version of the material too.

I highly agree when it comes to the cartoon series. It follows the original comics so well for the most part. I'm kind of scared yet excited for Nick's 2012 series.

TMNT is an odd thing for me. As a kid, I adored it, and I know I watched it a lot, had several figures(though never cared for any of the variant gimmick turtles), and of course loved the video games. Thought the live action movie was weird for some reason though, and preferred the second one(Tokka and Razar!).

Years later I tried to get into the original series again, and while I do agree there's a charm to the series, I haven't gotten more than a few DVD's. Somehow I remember it being more action packed than it really was.

I did check out the 2000's series when it was first on, but gave up on it after a few weeks, because I had no knowledge of the comics or what they were like, and I wasn't too interested in mutants vs. humans. I did pick up the entire Season 1 and Season 2 Part 1, but since I guess Season 2 part 2 is kind of rare I haven't continued on since then. That and the odd DVD releases have kept me from tracking them down.

These days I do recognize the original live action movie as being very good as well. I'm suprised how well it aged. The second film though is a bit too corny. Turtles III in hindsight is both better and worse than the second film: it didn't have the villians or the story(or the animatronics), but the action was better and the turtles were allowed to use their weapons. TMNT(Turtles IV) I find to be merely ok. It doesn't really leave much of an impact, in my opinion.

Anyone here checked out the new comic from IDW yet? I thought the first issue was really good and I will definitely pick up future issues.

I've read a sneak peak of it and finally picked up my first issue the other day. It defiantly has the Kevin feel to it. It can be promising, but it was a little bizarre. We will see what the future holds for it.

I've got something to show all TMNT fans of old and new: A thorough analytical comparison between the classic TMNT cartoon and the 2003 TMNT cartoon. I found it on YouTube and Dailymotion. This person gives very credible and well thought out opinions and notes about both series, how each one compares to the other, and which has the overall better aspects. There's a lot of videos, but it's well worth the watch.

It's not bad. It will be weird to adjust to the many changes to come. I can feel the Eastman edge of it very much so verses the old comics. But I'm going to continue to pick up future issues anyways to see how it progresses and where it goes.

I love the original show. It's very entertaining. The first 2 movies suck so much they are awesome and have re-watch value. However the third one just sucks. I don't care for anything else. I watched the CGI movie once and didn't like it.

I met Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman at Long Beach Comic Con this weekend and I picked up the convention exclusive edition of the Ultimate Collection hardcover. Kevin Eastman drew a Shredder sketch in my book! Eastman also signed my the original TMNT paperback. The paperback is pretty fragile now so it's nice having a new edition of these comics.

working my way through the entire series(Nickelodeon 2012) up to now! on season 3 episode 9 just now as i type...great episodes so far.....loved the alien invasion two parter at end of season 2....also loved the scenes with the original cartoon turtles in it, and the punk frogs(although preferred the original punk frogs), when they went out to the farmhouse & put Leo in the bathtub & had Raph sitting there it was just like a recreation of the scene from original live action movie! also liked The Thing movie style alien that disguised itself as April's mom, the demon car was a good episode too! one thing......since Dog Pound got transformed into Rahzar, how come no Tokka? also....at the end of some of the opening titles...you get to see the Turtle Blimp.....but it's yet to appear in an episode! strange how they show that in the titles BEFORE it has appeared on the show, already seen Anton Zeck.....of whom i know is gonna be turned into Bebop(although a rather weedy looking Bebop.....unlike the original cartoon & the new live action 2nd movie version), Tiger Claw looks like a formidable opponent...pity he hasn't made it into the live action Bay movies yet! the look of the Technodrome i'm not so keen on....meh
....it's ok....but prefer the look of the original! god alone knows what it'll look like in the live action movie apart from what we've seen of it with the pics of the toy. i love Michaelangelo.....aww he's so cute.....you just wanna give him a big hug. the other guys are cool too. so what i've seen of it so far.......all in all.....not a bad show.....with some great pick n choose episodes.

btw anyone know how many seasons this'll run for? coz the original ran for 10......& the one previous to this......ran for 7(i think?).

You still got a fair way to go to catch up. The latest episode was season 4, episode 6.

Five seasons was the original plan, but we'll see where things go if they can get that far.

so.....that's me up to date with Nick's Turtles! yup it's kinda cool....they've also got the Triceratons in there(although difficult to imagine Worf being evil....seeing as the Triceraton Leader is voiced by Michael Dorn), the 4th season has gone all Star Trekky.....with the Turtles in Space(to which we've yet to get the turtles in spacesuits toyline) & a robot (Professor Honeycutt) of whom btw has a human brain inside a robotic body....hmmmm.....does that make him a Gobot then :-?

all in all not a bad series ;)^

btw anyone watched The Half Shell Heroes - Blast To The Past? it's kinda like a turtle version of Rescue Bots(or the look of it is)....& even more surprisingly...Donny's new transport just happens to be a kind of Transformer(complete with transforming sound fx). all in all.....it's kinda cute....& fun

Yeah, it was alright.

Kate Mulgrew voiced the Triceratons' leader in that one.

Overall, I like the Nicktoons Turtles although I find Michaelangelo's silliness to be a little over the top at times.

My other beef is what they did with Bishop. He was a legitimate badass in the 2003 series and compared to others who have been in both series, I find his character to be quite watered down (taking into account his new origins too).

Yeah, I wish Bishop had just been named "Mortu" instead, since they essentially just made him Mortu but with Bishop's name for some reason.

Though, I feel Lord Dregg got it even worse in this series than Bishop when compared to the original Lord Dregg (or the 2003 show's Sh'Okanabo, who was like a loose homage to the original Dregg). They turned an awesome, fearsome, and very intimidating villain into a loony caricature villain, who's such a waste of Peter Stormaire's voice acting talent.

In case you don't watch football, there was a new trailer that shows Orang and the Technodrome. I didn't notice any new Beebob or Rocksteady footage though.

It's a YouTube embed of the trailer you just described.
