The Waiting Game.

I thought I'd ask a question, with the possibility of there being a lull between the last of the Movie figures and the Animated/Universe lines. What (if anything) will you be buying over the next 3-4 months.

I think the only figure that has caught my eye, is the Takara Henkei Starscream figure. Just because I like the G1 paint scheme, and because I need a new mold Starscream.

Personaly I always work on my vintage gaps during lulls.

This year however with Animated doing much of nothing for me, and Classics being an end of year item, I'm going after the high end big boys, Black Zarak, DeathSaurus, Victory Saber, Grandus...

Overlord and Dai Atlas where on that list, but I scored them in 2007, so I feel I'm off to a good start.

By 2009, I'll have them all.

As for 2009, I think I'm gonna round off the combiner teams, Abominus, DinoKing, Road Ceaser and so on.

I'm waiting for the next line of Encore's, and there's a toy show coming up in March that I'll try to pick up a few more G1's at. I think I'm also going to get some more reprolabels that I need.

Play it by ear mostly.

Save money ... snap up some G1 figures I need, provided they're in good condition and reasonably priced.

There are a couple of Encore reissues coming up that I will be getting (Skylinx and Omega Supreme for sure), as well as Japanese Classic Megatron and Starscream. I'll get the movie battle scenes and the latest Quintesson collection as well as the last two WST Dinobots. Botcon sets are also coming up in a few months.

I have decided to focus my collection on G1 and narrow down some of the non-movie character figures I have. I will be buying the premium movie figs and selling off the plain ones. I am close to (if not exceeding) 200 G1 figures, so I am actually getting pretty close.

I also just bought a custom Thundercats figure set for $600, plus spent about $1400 in G1 figures lately, so that will keep me from buying anything else for awhile.

I, for one, appreciate the lull.

Even though I'll be skipping the Animated line in favour of Universe I'll still have plenty to keep me poor(but happy).

Between now and Universe, there's Encore Jazz, Minibots & Omega Supreme plus Revoltech Starscream & Hot Rod and finally there are some 20th Anniversary 7" Metal Gear Solid figures I need to buy.

Quite frankly it feels like the 'lull' has been going for months in the UK.

This is mainly becuase the movie line is rubbish and we havnt had anything new from said line for a a good long while.

Same here. I'll prob. go after some G1 stuff, not nec. originals, more likely re-issues, Commemoratives, etc., as well as really anything more recent that catches my eye.

I am looking forward to the new Allspark line, tho- Stockade and Incinerator and repaints like Jetfire and Wingblade, stuff I missed the first time around.

Yeah, and I can't wait for it to end. I probably wont buy anything until April 4th passes and we find out if that is the Animated release date over here. If it is I'll be purchasing Animated, if not then it'll be Alts until Animated comes out.

looking forward to the sky lynx reissue. a few misc movie line items here and there, and having some patience on ebay getting a few more g1 parts
lull?
the lull was alot worse the past few years back.. i mean, by the time cybertron had ended, everyone was foaming at the mouth for the classics.
the tit line was being poorly distributed along with the alternators.. so you wanna talk lull.
this is a fart in the wind compared to the past.

Personally, I've discovered quite the awesome thing to keep me pacified during the lull. The joys of hunting down parts & accessories to complete my old figures from when I was a kid. Have any idea how much you'll pull your hair trying to find one missile/leg to Beast Wars Inferno? Oh sure, you can get the thing MISB, or loose & complete. But without having to use "junkers" from fellow collectors, do you've any idea how difficult a task that is? Or, just the gun base for Beast Wars Fox Kids Rhinox?

Its a rewarding feeling, however. Why, I just completed a G2 yellow Devastator that I used to have as a kid. Lot of things go missing over the years and some things don't survibe the journey... But now as soon as all the pieces arrive in the mail, I'll have a 100% complete G2 Devastator again.

Oh, there's no feeling like it in the world. Which scares the crap outta me when I finally start nabbing up reissues. I'm afraid I'll get one and nostalgia will dropkick me in the face. Next thing you know, I'm ducking everytime my landlord walks by the window.

Well, I am still hunting for the recently released Allspark Power figs, but I usually go on evilBay and try to gab some G1's...

I'll spend my time saving for a few Animated (my son wants BB and the "purple guy", aka Starscream) and for Universe/Classics 2.0. There isn't anything older that I want, so it's time to dig in and save up for what the future brings!

If I weren't so poor I'd be beginning my long-planned trek into the mystic realm of G2 (I want you Vortex...) but as it is I'll probably just continue getting the rest of the Real Gears and saving for Animated.

At least it's not the Crying Game.

As said eariler, in the UK we've been in a lull for a while. The Movie line was frankly poor, and yes I have bought some of the figures before anyone suggests I'm criticising stuff I don't own.

As I picked up the last Classics figures I needed over Christmas, I'll be browsing ebay in hopes of picking up Snapdragon and some Alternators. Might get Revoltech Starscream and Hot Rod as well as some of the Macross Veritechs if I can't find "proper" TFs I want.

it's the same over here. Not a thing in months. Still waiting on Movie: Dropkick, Payload, G1 Jazz, Leader Brawl, Real Gear Booster x10, Zoom Out 25x, not to mention the Allspark stuff. None of that's shown up yet.

The transformer sections have been pitiful. The last new product they got in is some sort of useless sticker set.

It seems every time something piques my interest I end up spending another $500.

Thundercats Ho!

http://www.boskoestoys.com/untitled10.html

I'm getting the signature series in original decos, plus mummy Mumm-ra and bad-ass Mumm-ra. Background bases for the 'cats and Mummra are included.

I do want to get Premium Starscream, and Landmine.
Other than him, in the Movie line, I may look to get
Jolt
Grindcore
Big Daddy
and MAYBE Premium BB

I most likely will pick up the Takara repainted Classics Megatron.

THAT'S IT.

Bring on Animated and Classics!!!!!!!!!!!!
