I just swapped Fansproject Bombshell's shoulder mounted sickle weapon leg things with his middle pair of legs. This means:
- it's very easy to get all six legs on the ground in insect mode
- his sickle weapon things are mounted just below the knee in robot mode so he can reach them easily
- his shoulder mounted legs are now easier to fold out of view, increasing his G1-esque silhouette.

This renders his chain obsolete but I didn't use it much anyway.

Whoa, that looks surprisingly good, I'll have to do that with mine.

Time for more Shockwave! I posted this in another thread but I might as well do it here too:

Alright, here's the gun mode. It's really simple, basically you just take his vehicle mode, separate the legs, pivot them down and then connect them back together. I also flipped back the wings to give it more of that 'space laser' look, plus it kind of evokes Rodimus Prime's rifle. For the legs/handle you can either leave the side leg panels up like in vehicle mode or down like in bot mode. I find having them down fits better in the hand, but up looks a little better:

(Sorry for the slightly blurry photos and ungroomed nails...)

Next up, manned space-cruiser mode! From vehicle mode, unpeg the arms and straighten them while still keeping them pegged to each other. Flip the main chest piece backwards to lie flat over top of the arms. Separate the legs, remove the cannon, flip it over and peg it back on using the tab on the silver barrel part and the slot on the back of his waist. Peg the legs back together. There you have it!

Here's how to do the rear (again, sorry for blurriness):

The whole thing:

Different, slightly closer angle:

Closeup of what inspired this mode, the 'cockpit', complete with seat!

That's it! Hope you guys like it. :)

Now I just need a Kreon Shockwave to put in the driver's seat.

Okay that's an awesome Shockwave gun mode. Nice find.

Thanks! I was just fiddling with it the other night and figured it out. I've seen a couple fan modes that are maybe a bit closer to his G1 look, but this works pretty well too.

Well we know that the dotm Darksteel was supposed to to be a homage to Beast wars Quickstrike. Well I think his wave mate, Airraid, was also supposed to be a homage to this guy

See what I mean. Even were the kibble goes is close. Shark head on Cybershaarks ass. plane cockpit on Airraids ass. Cybersharks fins could moved the way you wanted. Same goes to Airraids wings. Only thing off are the colors.

Thanks. And I didn't notice it until I set my Rid Sky-Byte next to Airraid when I was dusting my shelf.

Oh crap, now I NEED Air Raid! I mean, I liked it before, but now I NEED it! xD

I always figured he was a homage to BW Sky Shadow but Cybershark seems to be a pretty good fit as well.

Curses!
What do you do with the chain in bot mode?

I keep them connected to the sickles on the legs, and just have the chain draped over the middle horn between them, hanging fairly symmetrically on each side. I like seeing the hanging chains, makes him look all badass and metal

May I just say Prid Arcee's gun looks sweet on GEN Drift! Seriously. You might just switch one of Blurr's guns but try this first

Agreed on this. Also, my RiD Arcee gun went missing weeks ago. I wonder were it could be?

Also, if your feeling creative, transform RiD Ratchet into ambulance mode, ans stick RiD Bumblebee's guns on the roof. Its convincing as both weaponry, and maybe a part of the vehicle itself.

Don't know if anyone posted thi yet, but FoC Shockwave can become a very nice 4 legged walker cannon thingy. Got a photo, sorry for the quality, took it with my phone.

Way too lazy to take a pic now, but if you have Maketoys Giant, and FOC Shockwave, you can attach Shockwave onto Devastator's arm like an arm cannon.

From vehicle mode, take the thigh panels and flip them down to the feet side, take the arms out from their thruster configuration and attach them to the handles on each side of Devastator's forearm. Make sure Giant's hand is deployed so it can allow Shockwave to rest stabily on it. I flipped the wings backwards too. Makes for one BFG with pointy claws on the end (Shockwave's feet). Also, this is with the chest part of shockwave facing upwards, like a sight for the gun.

Posted this earlier on in the forum and in a couple of others, if you flip the top section back there's a nice little "seat" to put Kreo Shockwave in, or any other Kreo's for that matter.

Amazing how FOC Shockwave seems to be as versatile as RID Galvatron. So far I've seen mounted, stand-alone, flying, and walker weaponry.

Energon spears still amaze me.

DSC08172.JPG

RTS and Generations Legends Prime can wield these bad boys while the GDO and Takara versions use the smaller hand pegs (same as the Cyberverse standard for weaponry).

You can also make a neat sword using the Prime Cyberverse weapons

This isn't really something the toy can do per se, but I just realized G1 Motormaster's vehicle mode is in great scale with Legends/Cyberverse Optimus Primes. He's in great scale with my DotM Cyberverse Optimus w/trailer. They can do a great "King of the road" head on collision.

Likewise, Motormaster's cab is pretty much the exact same size as Reveal the Shield Legends G1 Prime (recently repainted as Motorbreath). If that Prime had a trailer they would look perfect together.

Just picked up TFP Weaponizer Optimus Prime. Cool discovery: DOTM Laserbeak's double-cannon plugs into the 2 ports above this Prime's rear wheels. Both pegs on Beak's combined weapon line up with both ports perfectly, it's a great look.

It's been said before and I'll say it again, Laserbeak is everyone's bitch.
