Airachnid can actually be slightly mistransformed to improve her head articulation. The instructions have you attach her rotors to a peg on the canopy, and have the copter nose fold into the cockpit. Mine barely locked the rotor.

But if you fold the copter nose simply against the canopy, the rotor still attaches with a peg of its own into a groove on the underside of the nose. The cockpit remains empty, leaving more room for the chair and thus Airachnid's head to move around.

Huh. I should try that.

In anticipation of FoC Air Raid, I've come up with a couple starfighter modes for Shockwave. If you picture it in Air Raid colors, with his weapon bits, it might look a little better:

Type 1 is a strange 4-winged contraption. I like how the 'engines' (purple apps on his feet/barrel tip) align in the back, but the wings could be better:

(Sorry for the poor quality, but you get the idea)

Type 2 is more of a standard/x-wing configuration. I really like this one. The engine placement isn't quite as nice, but overall it looks better. I suppose they could function as boosters out there or something:

Hope you guys like it! :D

I certainly do! I love cybertronian altmodes for this very reason, so many fanmode possibilities!

I do. The original design leaves a lot to be desired. It's...odd.

Those look pretty sweet dude. I kinda like how the gun placement looks like it comes up from beneath the ship.

You don't like the original mode?? I love it! Its got that sweet space roadster baddassery going on, like theres a windshield for a flying rocket hover ship of pure awesomeness. I can easily say that it's the best form of Shockwave I've seen (in regards to the CGI model and overall concept). Hate on that all you want. 8)

Thanks! I personally love ALL of Shockwave's modes. :D He's just so fun to mess around with and create new ones.

Agreed! I still don't understand the hate. He's a gunship. He's a flying gun, what more do you WANT people!? xD

Damn! You seem to have trumped my walker mode, very nice interpretations. :APPLAUSE:

For those of you who own green or yellow maketoys giant, I found a way to make Long Haul more stable in robot mode.

Take the piledriver attachments and insert the 5 mm handles on each of them into the outside of each foot, as there are open gaps in the feet that fit the pegs. With the pile drivers pointing backwards, this gives Long Haul additional foot support, and keeps him from falling back if you want to get a leaning back pose. The piledrivers are kind of big, but not nearly a big deal considering the overall look of the figure. Hope that makes sense.

Hmm. That looks like it might work. I'll give it a shot in a bit.

Don't have a pic right now, but there looks to be a little seat/cockpit inside of FoC Shockwave's arm Cannon. It's right in the opening that connects directly to his arm.

I have only recently discovered the sweetness that can be Power Core Combiners.

Owning a couple of the single Commanders which come with their little 'targetmaster' style buddies which are all very nice!

I have seen the Combiner sets with their drones which are all a bit derpy, so I never bothered to pick any up.
I assumed plugging the drones in and attatching the head/helmet and weapons made for a whole load of parts-forming?

Attatching the head/helmet....?

Why did no one tell me that when in the combined mode, the Commanders head/helmet is actually built in to the Commanders chest/body!!!!!!
:HEADHURTS:

There are a couple of exceptions though:

- Sledge's head does double duty. In torso mode, you cover up the regular face then turn the head around.
- Skyhammer has no second combiner head, instead he dons a pilot's helmet complete with goggles.

Which folds down ala classics Jetfire. :)

Also while taking some photo shots, I just realized Prime VOYAGER Dreadwing's jet mode has the same length with classics DELUXE Starscream.
