Welcome to Skybolt's Robot Recapitulation, where I, the glorious skybolt, review your favorite robots. Today is Titan's Return Blitzwing.
The first thing to note is his G1 toy accurate purple face, which would be nostalgically amazing if it didn't look like he'd painted himself with grandma's circuit-cleansing face mask.
As with all Titan's Return Voyagers, he comes with this little paint-lacking scamp, Headmaster Hazard, who is a tiny, cute little Blitzwing of his own.
I don't really understand why they've been turning so many characters into headmasters recently. All I know is that it requires a good mechanic every time I detach my head from my body.
He also features a secret foot transformation that leaves his feet as his thrusters from jet mode, which is not only G1 accurate, but it's also Skybolt accurate. This definitely gains him some Skybolt vanity points!
The chrome stickers on his wings are f**king sweet, even if they aren't the best quality. My big problem is having to apply stickers myself, so I'm especially glad these came pre-applied.
The tank mode... has some problems. A bunch of bits don't quite tab in correctly, specifically the wings, although they remain in place well enough, and he won't be displayed in this form, anyway, so I'm not terribly bothered by it.
It's worth mentioning that the cockpit is in the most exposed place on the tank, i.e. right on top, and kind of defeats the purpose of driving a tank in the first place.
All in all, if you are looking for the perfect Blitzwing, and you aren't fond of the mess that was Generations Blitzwing (or the lank-meister that was Animated Blitzwing) then this Blitzwing is the one for you. But the monstrosity of a purple face and the tabbing issues that many have dealt with leave this triple-dipple at a four out of five Skybolts.
