Seriously look at that waist, he needs some malnutrition.
Meanwhile his rival's a big fat lumberer of a dino; he's got a huge amount of mass from head to toe. If anyone was expecting Trypticon to be the same height as Metroplex, they were really getting their hopes up.
trypticon needs to be bigger than metroplex
Exactly! People who voted for him didn't have him being a shrimp to Metroplex and Fort Maxx in mind, regardless of his girth....
That being said, Hasbro's version is still not a deal breaker. But I don't see Takara selling a lot of these over in the US or anywhere else that the Hasbro version at $75 less is available.
isnt that how it should be though? Hasbro makes toys for their market and takara does toys for theirs and there is no need to import on either side because we have quality toys coming from both companies?

Devastator was a bad guy and he wasnt limited in any way.
If by not limited, you mean available online everywhere, because I never saw one at a B&M ever. Fair enough CW Dev is still available at BBTS for retail price, but if you are in the U.S. looking in stores, he was not in my area at least.
Also I’m surprised nobody is talking about the fact that since the TT mall video broke this weekend confirming Trypticon’s height as only 45 cm (just under 18 inches) –Basically the same size as CW Devastator, that he will not scale in size properly to Generations Metroplex or Fort Max.
It appears the blunder of the 80’s (Scorponok and Fort Max size mismatch) is about to be repeated in 2017!

I do find the dark side quite seductive.

Just wait until the actual Hb is released. The Takara one more or less will be using a slightly different shade of PVC ABS looking more like the original toy.
Basing this inference on Takara Metroflex and Fortress Maximus

Are you sure? From what we've seen of in-hand images both will basically be the same as far as plastic goes. Takara thus far doesn't appear to be sticking to any particular likeness so no chrome like they did for Metroplex (just dull silver paint) and the inaccurate green claw joints seem to be staying.

"Inference" as in an intelligent guess bud

I know what inference means, and we all had originally come to the same assumption, but it goes against the actual evidence we've seen to the contrary that I'm sure you've seen so why bother guessing?
