TMNT The Game. Mighty impressive.

They just released the demo for the game on PC and I must say it's insanely fun. I love how they merged the Prince of Persia engine into it. The switching out between brothers is well done and the team moves are fun. Combos work well. Only wish you could transfer from a kick into a weapon attack without a pause. Ah well. Good game so far and can't wait for the full one to be released.

Certainly a fresh breath of air compared to the crap Konami has been spilling for the last 4 years.

Does it have any of the turtles yelling out lame shell puns every ten seconds, or are they actually serious in the game?

For the most part it was just grunts, karate noises and battle crys when you would do a big move. Theres the normal Cowabunga every once in a while. And sometimes Raph makes a quick quip about the situation.

It's much more like the new show (2003) in terms of dialog.

I've recorded a quick run through of the demo. They allow you to play for about 8 minutes so I got as far as I could in the time. Certainly not my best run but it works to show off the game.

March 18th.

I think I'm gonna do a speed run today and put it up in DVD quality through yousendit or something. I'm not a fan of youtubes horrible compression.

I'm not a huge turtles fan, but I do enjoy the old movies and the new show. Well, to be honest I didn't have a problem with anything other then the live action show and the last few games, so really, I'm all for it.

Like Archie asked, when is this coming out? Release with the movie or a week before to ruin the movie? :P

EDIT: NM, same time post.

Where can the demo be DLed Muff? I've done some hunting and can't find it anywhere.

I didn't like the demo. I think I should get a X-box 360, with live gold membership and buy TMNT Arcade game on x-box live arcade because that would be more fun.

Good ole Filefront

I must say though that using the keyboard for it is challenging. If you have a gamepad it makes things soooo much easier.

No problem. I finished my speed run as well. No deaths and made it all the way past the 3rd Foot confrontation. Best I've ever been able to do. I'll upload it in another post soon.

Good quality speed run for you folks. Farthest I've been able to get with no deaths.

Just enter the code, wait for the time to count down and then click the button to download. It's zipped so you'll have to unzip it.

Unfortunately very true. The keyboard does make it super painful to play, however it's enough to know that the game is very, very good and worth buying when it's released.

I actually ended up buying a USB to PS2 controller adapter from RadioShack. Cost $10 and was the best money I ever spent on an electronic.

Oh also. I have the speed run up on youtube for folks who don't want to enjoy it in wonderful clear quality.

I seriously can't stop playing this demo. It's addicting trying to do better to see how much farther I can get. Really makes me wish I had a 360 and some money to buy the final game.

Good news if you own a 360. They're releasing the original arcade game (which became turtles 2 on the NES) onto Live Arcade here in a month or so.

Damn, that's pretty rad. Turtles 2 and Tournament Fighters are the only Turtles game for NES that I'm missing.

I beat Turtles 2 and 3 but could not beat the first game because I always got stuck on a jump in the sewer :(

2 and 3 weren't too bad, especially with a second player. 1 was incredibly hard.

When I was younger my sister and I would play both 2 and 3 for hours.

Oh god, I know what your talking about! Stupid timing has to be so precise. Have you seen the Angry Nintendo Nerds review on it? It's priceless.

BTW, is that TMNT Arcade game the Arcade quality or the NES quality?

It's wonderful arcade quality.
