Some of you should check your DVR schedule. Now that I have Transformers Prime on Blu-Ray (thanks Shout! Factory), I changed my recording setting for Transformers Prime from "New and Repeats" to "New Only". Comcast has tomorrow's episode of Transformers Prime marked as a "repeat" and not a new episode, so it wasn't scheduled to record Saturday's new episode. Just a friendly reminder to double check to make sure it's going to record everyone.

I am ready for the most incredible rock and roll adventure EVER. Even if I saw the movie a thousand times over, still gives me chills.

Also, prime looks good. Skipping rescue bots. They suck

Does anyone know when the new Prime episodes will begin airing in Canada? As usual my internet searches prove fruitless...

Thanks to anyone who can help!

its sorta ironic that the movie is now considered some cult classic and transformers jewel when its what killed the franchise in the 80s. lol

as for canada airing Prime, in the end we were sharing the same weekend schedual as america. so i wouldnt be surprised if tomorrow's episode is our premiere.

One could only hope... but the episode descriptions for the next two weeks eps according to my PVR are "Partners" and "TMI" on Teletoon (which airs Prime in Canada).

That's an odd thing to say since the cartoon continued until 1988, the toyline ran till 1990, and the comic even outlived the toyline by finishing in 1991. ;)

I'm pretty sure the only thing the movie successfully killed was the trust of children.

Was that a new voice-over that was shoe-horned into the beginning if Transformers:The Movie?

Can anyone confirm which version of the 1986 film is showing right now on the Hub? It has the extra opening voice over intro narration from Victor Caroli that I believe is from the UK version of the film. It's widescreen. Spike doesn't say "oh ****!".

Any other changes? Sounds like the UK version to me.

Though, it used the DEG logo at the beginning, which was from one of the American versions. Guess we'll have to wait and see once it's over.

I wonder if it's some new hodge-podged version that splices together a few different versions of the film. I'm not familiar with other televised versions of the film, just the almost dozen versions I have on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray (thank you Madman in Australia).

I would love to own an official version of the animated film from Japan. I've never watched G1 (pre-Headmasters) or the 1986 film in Japanese, with the exception of Scramble City.

I considered that myself, yeah. If it is, I wonder if A) It was all done to remove the swearing, and B) If this Hub version will get a commercial release.

Here's some info regarding some different English-language versions of it. :)

Oh, dude, so would I! I've seen some bits and pieces of clips from it (unsubtitled, though), and from what I can tell, the Japanese version of the movie has a very dramatic performance of the dialogue by the voice actors, and even has some new bits of dialogue created for that version (such as the Lithonians screaming in horror as Unicron destroys their planet, and the Decpeticons all yelling in pain as they get blasted by Optimus during his epic entrance into Autobot City before engagin Megatron).

Here's a clip of the Optimus vs. Megatron fight. Or should I say, "Convoy vs. Megatron". ;)

I think the extra VO at the beginning was from the Rhino VHS that came out between that British release and the Rhino DVD. It was also s#!t-free, and ended with a VO assuring us that Optimus would be back...IN THUNDERBALL!!!...or somewhere.

If any hodge-podging was done, a better clue might be the aspect ratio: did they use the same top-bottom crop as the widescreen disc in the Sony release? Can't watch now, recording it for later, but I'm also wondering if the HUB will edit Magnus's "DAMN IT", which as far as I know has been present in all American releases. Did they edit that out when the Movie was split into 5 parts for season 5?

According to TFWiki, the Hub spliced in the narration from the UK opening scroll text crawl, but not he text itself, onto the U.S. opening credits. and judging by posts here, they used the UK closing narration too.

So, I guess Ryan was right. It is a sort of hodgepodge, but only a mild one.

Saw the 86' movie for the first ime in its entirety today. I had seen the begining many times before and caught bits and peices of the middle, but never actually just sat down and watched it all the way through. One thing i'll say..
I'm really glad i didn't see this when i was 5yrs onld in 86' in the theaters. Seeing all my favorite characters get slaughtered probably would have tramitized me! Damn that was visious!
