Who? Will? I felt this one was both objective and accurate, he crowd-sourced most of the list entries, and backed them up, as opposed to the other 'worst' lists out there by other people. It's an innately subjective list topic either way, but I felt it generated some good, lighthearted conversation

Oh wow, forgot I'm a week behind the curve. I was talking about that article Will posted that someone else wrote. I agreed with Will's list, found it interesting and made my case for why Airachnid should be worst

For us yes, but for Asia it was simply some generations toys. I just found it interesting that there was talk for first edition molds to be for the generations line and we eventually get a first edition mold released in the generations line. Its poetic.

With all the flack MP-IH and Hotrodimus has taken anyone remember this atrocity? I own two btw in KissPlayer and Binaltech form. Compared to the other awesome Binatech, the robot for of this figure is a complete turd! Except for the headsculpt and Marissa

The Optimus/Ginrai/KissPlayer mold is doesn't look proportional if anything at all.

Beside, I heard that it was supposed to be another character from the start, but it became Optimus for marketing reasons.

I totally agree! I absolutely HATE that turd. And if the list was larger, he's be in it for sure/ Compared to the other binaltechs, this toy's transformation lacks complexity and the proportions are just aweful. I hate how the legs are just the back of the truck, again, without any interesting transformation, the new detail was what was under all along and you just split the legs and lift them by 1/4 inch. Really lackluster. And I hate those damn shoulder collumns, they are useless and detach super easily.

Easily the worst Binaltech/Alternators toy.

I keep my Alternator Optimus for the Legacy, but he's deep in a box in storage. Other I really don't like are these molds: Sideswipe, Tracks, and Deadend. They transform into ackward bricks. These are the best I keep in my collection because almost MP: Hound, Shockwave, Rodimus, Kiss Players Autorooper, Rumble, and Skids.

Tears of love/depair on my part? Really now. No matter how hard I try to love this mold, no amount of brainwashing can stop the tears (did I mention that I own two of them ......yeah I just couldn't pass the opportunity to own an underdressed Marrisa Faireborne). Now if all that metal was transfered to MP......

Hi! New poster here, and I'm not sure on the etiquette of bumping old threads here, but I spent last night reading this thread via the Seibertron link. I agree fully with the inclusion of Armada Sideswipe, I remember when that guy came out and I was appalled at how ugly it is.

Energon was weird, yes. On his own, Prowl is not that good. But he's one kick-ass torso.

Yeah that guy is a real stinker. The reason he is a racecar is because it was the 20th anniversary of the brand and they were making homages every where. Prowl here was an homage to mirage.

And these lists were meant to inspire discussion for as long as possible, so thanks for sharing and welcome to the community!

TLK Wave 1 Deluxe Bumblebee was pretty crap. Not just for being a bad lazy redeco, but for being a bad lazy redeco of the wrong dang mold! If they were going to be that lazy they could have at least used the DotM mold since Bee had basically gone back to his old design. But noooo, they used the AoE mold instead!

Speaking of Bumblebee, I think the assorted jumbo-size Bumblebee toys are kinda rubbish (even those that have technically good designs) just because of being jumbo toys of the little yellow guy. But I hold a special ire for DotM Leader-class Bumblebee. In my opinion, he is the absolute worst of the bunch just for existing. He's oversize, and he stole a Leader-class spot that should have gone to Megatron. And has accuracy faults on top of it. What a miserable waste of plastic.

At the time, they didn't know how it woukd really play out but as a business, they have to try and make the most money.

Well, it isn't just the shelfwarming that I'm mad about. It was that they gave a Leader-class slot to Bumblebee instead of to Megatron, who is A. one of the main villains and B. Needed the size a hell of a lot more. And "cool-looking bad guy" is a pretty big selling point for the kiddies too.

And Hasbro should have known how it would play out. Past big Bumblebees were not exactly stellar sellers either. Yes, his character appeals to kids, but since one of his appeal points is being on the smaller side ("Little. Yellow. Special. Kids love him," as was said of the archetype), it tends to put people off of bigger toys of him. Especially when they're too big to really go with anything (too-big toys in general tend to shelfwarm - look what happened with Supreme-class Starscream, he didn't start shifting until Screamer became a giant in-show and even then..). Hasbro should have learned their lesson about making too-big toys of smaller yellow characters all the way back with Night Attack Cheetor. But they forgot.

Airachnid look good as a copter-lobster,i use her box as a stand next to my voyager Starscream and Megatron sharkticon,awesome looking air strike.Cliffjumper deluxe seem worse to me because of the superior version.Wheeljack deluxe is a masterpiece,even more in a black background and eyes paint in blue,the second vehicon is not good with poor head and horrible feet but it got praise and more than Wheeljack?

Explain why you like him and maybe why you didn't paint his visor in red.Insecticon design is better also.They are based on the Oblivion's demon from TUROK if you don't know.Movies characters can have the quality figure they want,they are ugly to begin with it.

In the US that may be true, but for other places, Japan especially, the bad guys dont sell. Thats why the cool gimmicks in G1 thT were "good guys" in theor predessor roles were Cons.

Also, kids arent as concerned with scale. Bigger toys mean bigger parts, which are easier for smaller and less dexterous hands. Although its true some of the Movie Leaders havent always followed that rule.

Maybe i sounded like i prefer the FE version of Arcee but no,i prefer the deluxe,for the BeyatcH,i hate the head with a completely different color(considering i have paint my Ratchet eyebrow and central band in brown but it fit,green for the large eye) and the enormous weapon,unless you want a motorbike.Oh,none of them are suggestion,also,the vehicon has a horrible anorexie easily visible from the front.

This is the kind of list that should be revisited every year.
