This and this again. It's the TOY forum and only the TOYS truly matter. Sure, a character list would be interesting, but would be for the TF Genera forum or any other one that focus primarily on the fiction.

Personally, the fiction and characters represent a very, very small part of my interests in Transformers. What I truly want is great looking toys that are fun to fiddle with.

theres really not many samari transformers besides Bludegon and Drift and all the repaints of the two and animated Prowl
would Nightbird count or is she more of a ninja?

Nightbird is definitely a ninja through and through. Both in style and behavior.

Baynus Drift just looks like a lump of blue poo to me but at least it is a samurai design unlike IDW Drift, who is just a bot carrying two swords, nothing that remotely suggests samurai at all. So G1/RID 2015 bludgeons would get their spaces for me in the list or even the deployers that come with RID 2015 Drift.

I really like using the Baynus deluxe bludgeon (that came with whirl) as a pretend pretender inner bot for the tank version of him.

I generally dislike the Bayformer aesthetic, and shy away from those toys. But RotF Bludegon is a no brainer. It was a perfect update of the character.

One thing that always kind of boggled me about the G1 Pretender Bludgeon was that the shell itself looked good, but the toy within? It's kind of pitiful. I know that it's old and yada yada yada look, if Brawl can have wheels, why can't Bludgeon? Plus, it gives me that weird vibe where you have two tiny dudes standing on each other while wearing a suit (or a tiny head being under a giant helmet).

Ahh, Pretender logic. So rose tinted yet so broken.

Oversight maybe? The line has seen a few cutbacks starting in 1986, like switching from metal to plastic, and simplifying designs, so there's that too. Sparkabot Guzzle had the same issue.

I'd say that the BLACK AND RED Alternity Samurai Megatron should have been included. Out of all of the various recolours, It was the version I most wanted as an alternate reality Megs. The black and red colours seemed far more "Musha Gundam" than any other Meg Samurai, too.

Even though it's not a TRansformer, I belive it deserves an honorable mention, and a place in any Samurai toy-collector's shelf:

Great list! All phenomenal toys (or so I hear) and all toys I kinda wanna own at some point. AoE Drift I sort of want to get along with the TLK remold to have a sort of "Red Oni/Blue Oni" duo. Need to decide on names though. RID Drift I was thinking of having as Yoketron.
