(I removed Grimlock/Blaster from my original list, as I had jumped the gun assuming these would hit retail before 2013)

I fear this thread will be locked as there will be an official thread started in a few days. I may be wrong though.

Has FOC Grimlock and Soundwave made it to retail yet. I did manage to find the minions, but no Soundwave, which I thought was weird.

Yeah I think those are my Top ten 2012 Hasbro retail figure releases.

I actually figure this to be the "What is YOUR top ten list". This isn't an "official" top ten since this isn't a census done by Hasbro or any affiliate who has kept track of how many of each specific figure sold. so I doubt our beloved news crew guys are sweating over this. Besides, usually the "official" top ten winds up having more of the ones i personally didn't like than the ones I do. To each his (or her) own.......

Oops, I apologize for the confusion, I never considered this post to be taken as any sort of site official list or forum for a voting consensus, it was only intended as a post to list my personal favorite figures that I enjoyed most this year and compare with whomever chose to share theirs, nothing more than that, sorry

So little, so cute and so choc full of Breakdown awesomeness.

Blue bomber lives again in a sharp, new body.

Sleek, black sports car with wonderful proportions? Check.
3. PRID Arcee:
Sexy, sassy and she transforms. Need I say more?
2. FoC Soundwave:
Big, bad-ass looking figure, with automorphing minions to boot.
1. Masterpiece Prime:
Like it was going to be anybody else. All the features and more of our beloved G1 Autobot leader wrapped up in a 21st Century bow.

It probably won't get locked if there's another thread...it'll just be moved there. All of our posts will remain.

It's cool. If the 2012 list is getting done it wouldn't be in this format. I was done my list and then realized it was Hasbro figures.... there are a handful of figures from Hasbro this year that deserve recognition, but not 10.

Beside, no one seem to give a crap at these threads. Case in point, we're just barely to page two and last year, the "best of 2011" thread died at page 3.

Let's just say the site has alot of readers but not all too many writers.

Cool, yeah it was difficult to come up with ten Hasbro figures that I liked enough to list, hence FoC Shockwave, GDO Cliff and Brawl and all the other repaints of the older molds, probably should have just went with a top 3 but hopefully 2013 will be different!!

Oh, this'll be fun.


10. SDCC Bruticus
I've always wanted Combaticons that look like Combaticons in a Classics/Universe/Generations aesthetic, and with the exception of Universe Onslaught and maaaaaayyybeee Dark of the Moon Vortex, these guys fit the bill. It was cheaper than going third party anyway.


9. PRiD Voyager Dreadwing
The vehicle mode's a bit blah, but the robot mode is so pretty I find myself not caring. Props to Hasbro for giving him a cheap plastic sword that actually vaguely resembles his sword from the show.


8. FOC Kickback
This one caught me by surprise, because I wasn't expecting much. But I love his robot mode and especially his head sculpt, and am always happy to have more characters with a Cybertronian/WFC/FOC aesthetic. I like those feet.


7. Timelines Shattered Glass Drift
Drift isn't even remotely close to a favorite character of mine, but I love this mold, and reinventing him as a psychotic mercenary? I'm totally okay with this.


6. PRiD Voyager Ultra Magnus
The shoulder needs its fair share of help, but once adjusted, is my favorite voyager in the PRiD line.

5. AM-16 Jet Vehicon
The Prime line has its fair share of cheaply produced crap, but it also has quite a few feats of engineering. This Vehicon mold is one of my favorites, and given how the Jet Vehicons have become more prevalent in the cartoon, I'm glad I preordered 3 to army build. Now... if only he wasn't so bloody pink. My bad. Should really stop and read the thread title next time.

Let's give this one to special guest recipient First Edition Bulkhead, whom I can finally afford to purchase.


4. PRiD Vehicon
In terms of sheer numbers, this is my favorite Transformers toy of all time. With 8 of this mold serving as my Vehicon army (not counting Jets, or Cyberverse, or my sole FE Vehicon), and I'm so happy to see them filling out the Decepticon ranks on my Prime shelf. I may have more versions of Optimus Prime and Soundwave, but this is the first time I've purchased more than 3 of a particular mold.


3. FOC Shockwave
By far my favorite of the Generations line this year, and possibly my favorite Transformers character overall, I couldn't be happier to have him. I bought one for play and one to keep boxed for posterity... hopefully my children will love him as much as I do.


2. TRU Masterpiece Optimus Prime
Speaking of childhood loves, I doubt many of us dispute Optimus was our hero. This figure's anime aesthetic really captures the feel of his cartoon model, and his trailer (with Roller!) just makes him the complete package.

Ah, but who among the ranks of Transformers figures could possibly unseat the mighty Optimus Prime? What figure could possibly defeat such an elegant transformer, truly deserving of the name 'masterpiece?'

A squat deluxe that came out in April, a lifetime ago in terms of news and new figures...

...but who could defeat the mighty Optimus Prime?
