I was thinking more of the size than anything else. I feel a standard to do rankings wouldn't be a bad thing so people aren't getting confused by different ranking systems.
people are gonna get confused no matter what. i remember some of lucky's sigs a rememeber thinking, "my god, it's full of bars" but i'd need an encyclopedia to tell me what they meant.
i guess what i'm trying to say is that while nice and all and a very good outlet for creativity at the end of the day it's pretty meaningless unless you already know what tournie is what bar, and if you know that you probably already know who won anyway. so it's pretty much something for the winner, rather than to let people know who the winner is
Well it is the player's choice if they want to wear the bar. While I do agree that sometimes people will not know what they mean, the fact that people will wear them will give them a point of pride. You may not know what tournament they were in but you will know how that player performed in that tourney.
I'm in the military and I don't know what half the ribbons I see worn are, but they are there to show the achievement that person has made. Sometimes I have to look up what a new ribbon/medal I'm being awarded looks like, but I wear it with a little pride even if everyone else doesn't know what it is. And, sometimes people even ask me what this one or that one is for.
I don't mind editing my first post to keep track of what ribbons belong to what tourney. Matter of fact I think I will do that to provide a point of reference.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that while you may not know what exactly they are, you will see that player has made achievements and if they were placed in those tourney's. If you don't know what they are you can ask the player or look it up in my first post. They are there for personal pride and achievement. No one has to wear them if they don't want to.
