Hello,

Looks like Toy world TW-01 Hegemon is available now. and I'm really interested in it for my Classics collection because I'm not happy with the united Megatron. the wings head sculpt and Weapon really does deters it from being the Megatron I want. the Toy world TW-01 Hegemon looks great but it looks like its not sold in any of the big US online retailers. its not at TF source or BBTS. only place i see it is at Robotkingdom. And this is what they have to say on their website. "This main purpose of this TW-01 listing is to fulfil the demands from many customers request, its listing will be taken out within less than a month and will not be restocked after!

Act fast if you are interested in this item otherwise you might not be able to buy it afterward!" Now i want this I still want to see some video reviews first mainly for the QC issues. I feel like with all third party items it is better safe then sorry and you'll and up with something issues. Esp since it would be $115-120 shipped here. My questions is why are they only listing this for a Month? why aren't any other online retailers selling this? and does anyone have one in hand and can talk about it? doesn't look like there's any reviews up yet and I'm just hoping to see something before RK removes their listing.

Thank you all for your response in advance.

I suspect BBTS and TFSource dont want to deal with the dreaded "orange cap" complaints. The captured prey guys are probally importing them under the radar. Maybe they ship them to Canada and drive them in.

Not quite. BBTS and TFSource have some big deals with Hasbro that they don't want to threaten with things that are a direct likeness to Hasbro's/TakaraTomy's IP hence why TFSource no longer carries iGear's Masterpiece line (and why BBTS never did to my knowledge). I guess either Hasbro directly told them "no" to Hegemon or they're playing it safe, after all this bears a very close likeness to G1 Megatron's animated character so I suppose they want to play it safe.

Don't ask me why certain things such as the Hercules and Giant are deemed "ok" and Hegemon isn't, such things are beyond my comprehension. I'm only regurgitating what Joel told me once.

I think that makes sense since Megatron has been in almost everything related to transformers. while Devastator does not have the name recognition with the general public.

Anythings possible, but I dont think it's about Hasbro bullying the dealers. If it was about "intellectual property" we would have seen TF Source and BBTS stop selling 3rd party items a long time ago. They same way they bullied Funpub into banning 3rd party toys and making the Botcon dealer room a snooze fest.

On the other hand, If you knew how US Customs are d**ks like I do, you would agree with my orange cap theory. Imagine the thousands of horrified collectors who get their "MISB" Hegemon torn open to either place a orange cap or make sure the existing orange cap is glued on securly. Those guys dont give a s**t. Trust me on that, I got friends in Customs and they dont play. Im pretty sure that was the case with the Encore Black Megatron which still gathers dust in both stores to this day.

I once even met an E-bay dealer who uses photoshop to put a orange cap on his images to fool anybody checking for violations. But Customs cant open every individual box in the US mail. However, large shipments from known toy dealers face greater scrutiny.

Our customs are as stingy as yours.
