$12 for commander figures, they had a hard time selling them at $8 and they think raising the price will make them sell now? Who ever is in charge of setting prices needs to be shot and replaced with some one with a brain. Youll sell more and make more money if you sell them for normal or even a little cheaper than normal price, right now your only going to sell a few to the people who have no patients and have to be the first to have something. In this economy people look & wait for deals, i have the feeling within the next 2 years TRU will be no more.

The American dollar just isn't worth what it used to be. I understand for someone who hasn't seen a rise in compensation from the workplace inflation on goods can seem like a shock or outright insane. Usually the 'ol job isn't going to say well the cost of gas is ging up, we better give our workers a raise. But the truth is everything is inflating, and the cost of toys moves right along with everything else, and your gonna make less money in the end. Them's the breaks with Capitalism.

I personally realize that TRU jacks the prices up, so for easy finds they aren't usually an option, but if it's exclusive or on sale....

TRU prices are spiked anyway. I've heard from reviews (the likes of peaugh and baltmatrix) that the normal retail price is $9.99.

I'm tempted to just order these now. I am getting pretty sick of TRU jacking the price on everything though. I saw the Bot shot Launchers yesterday at my local store, but for $2 more than Target's price, I'm going to wait for Target to get them in. What really got me mad was on Wednesday I bought the Autobot bot shot 3-pack for $12.99 but they didn't have the Decepticon set. Friday night they had the Decepticon set, and they had raised the price to $14.99.

Is this news? I've seen the Commanders and Launchers at Walmart for 2.5 weeks now, they got them out before they got the Prime Deluxes on the pegs.

The launchers were new to me. I first spotted them at a local TRU. But STAND FAST fans, don't give into TRU prices so easily!! I just now came from my lunch break at a local Target and found the only Bulkhead I will ever own along with the other Cyberverse figs. I couldn't believe what I almost paid on TRU when I saw this topic go up, and I think what would have been if I clicked "buy"... :BOOM:.

I don't always beef about prices but even a fool wouldn't pay TRU prices when they can wait just a bit more and pay less. Just wait a bit more if you can peoples!! And as I stated in another topic they were on pegs for the end-cap that has Star Wars, Cars (Disney), and Marvel figs. There WERE 2 BH, 2 SS, 1 Megs and 3 or 4 Primes...if I'm not mistaken. I know the waiting sux just try if you can...'nuff said! :VEHI:

I broke down and ordered these from TRU's website. It might end up being cheaper for me in the long run, with gas at $3.99 and my long lunch breaks checking out Targets. The cost of driving around looking for these adds up fast.

It has nothing to do with the value of the dollar. Toys R Us is charging 20-25% more than all the other retailers for Prime/RID figures.

Something I mentioned in that same post:

It makes me depressed when I see Americans whining about prices.
Here, its a bargain to find a Deluxe for less than $25, or a commander for less than $15. Not to mention that RRP at TRU here is $8 for Legion, $$15-20 for commander $30 for Deluxe, $50 for Voyager and $80-100 for Leader!

People don't know how lucky they are...

The American consumer should be very conscientious when spending, as many are out of work, limited on funds, and/or haven't gotten a pay raise in some time. Transformers are a hobby, but I remember about 5 years ago I could've picked up a Deluxe TF for $7/8. Before PRID, we were going $9.99 - 12.99 for the class figure. Expect to pay a few dollars more if purchasing from TRU or online sellers that make a distinction between figures in a wave.

With all the issues of the world and resources become "scarce", we just see prices raise year after year. If we didn't "whine" about prices, I think that's sending a message to manufacturers and retailers that we don't mind the price increase, and will likely not mind a further increase.

With some context, regional prices are just that: regional. Your economy is most likely different than ours, and your consumers will have different experiences than ours. Quite frankly, I believe Hasbro USA would be digging their own hole if they decided to jack the American prices up to levels you identify with. Not to say some people wouldn't continue to buy the product, but it definitely wouldn't be at the same rate seen today.
