Yeah, sorry, I re-read my post and it does come off a little d-baggy. I didn't mean it like that.

Nice pictures! Magnus looks awesome, I found a cheap-ish G2LOP on Ebay, in box, but the box is a big mangled. Debating whether I should grab it or not. I really don't have a lot of room these days. :BOT:

So what are your overall thoughts on Hegemon?

God I love him.

I emailed Reprolables to see if they had any plans to create a set, seems they could easily produce his eyebrows, the chest squiggle and various detailsing. They stated they would pass it on to the developers and keep me posted.

I have mine standing with Laserbeak perched on his forearm. My first decepticon shelf sits sort of in front of a window, so most of the day, his eyes blaze bright red.

I give Toy World an A+ on this one, considering its their first release. I have a few issues with the hip covers popping off, but that's really it. Everything else transforms solid and snug with very little seams showing.

:CON: :CON:

There's a strong chance that if you collect Classics toys and don't buy this figure you may go straight to fan-jail.

Do not pass GO!, do not collect 200 fan-dollars.

Hang your head in shame. There were a grand total of 4 Primes released during G2, the G1 with black trailer and soundbox, the Combat Hero with bellows launcher (released with different stickers as Sureshot in Europe), Laser with practically all of the G2 gimmicks (no colour change or rotors) and Gobot (the first releases of the moulds that later became the Car Robots/Robots in Disguise Spychangers). The Laser mould is awesome. I'd recommend the Takara Battle Convoy over the original 90s release for Prime, mainly for the Matrix chest stickers that replace having his name emblazoned on his chest on the Hasbro version, the Takara Black Convoy over the Sonokong version or Hasbro's Scourge release for greatest show accuracy and no 'safety parts' (Scourge and Sonokong BC have blunted points on the swowds and no G2 Cybertron symbol on the discs, many thanks to Jelze for having recently pointed this out about the Sonokong version) and the ehobby release for Magnus because he's the only option there.

Yep, and with such a strong initial showing it makes me very excited about their future products. These guys need to do Galvatron and Shockwave. I'm also impressed with how they didn't jack us around with a bunch of teasers and managed to release this guy right on schedule.

Shockwave?

I'd buy that for a dollar.

quick question for anyone who owns this:

are the hands 5mm peg holes?

I'm not keen on the sword, but do like the pickaxe part for a custom maybe, and would like to maybe swap out the sword on this guy with either the AM Dark Matter Calibur or maybe the one from Battle Tanker.

Well, I was going to skip this as I have MP Megs (& Henkei FWIW), but the pics in this thread have made this a must-buy. Robot mode looks so perfect for Megatron - finally someone did his head right!

Wow, I'm a little shocked by all the love.

I got mine the other day and I was underwhelmed.

I thought the plastic felt cheap, the gun mode was a little wonky, and the leg panels that form the top of the handle in alt mode were just a poor design.

I really didn't like the shoulder joints on his arms, especially the cannon arm. mine is pretty loose after one transform.

Don't get me wrong, he looks great in bot mode, but I really don't want to touch him for fear of parts popping off all over.

I felt with a few tweaks this could have been 100% perfect. As is, he's about 80%.

As far as gun mode Megatrons he is the best so far, it is a real engineering challenge to get that character to work in both modes, so I do give them props, but it just didn't wow me the way I had though it would.

I got mine and I think he's great. A little large to fit into my collection bot-mode wise, but that's okay. Mine has great joints even after several transformations. Took a while to get the gun mode to work, but managed it. Those top panels of the handle are a bit tricky, but nowhere near as bad as MP Megatron's tricky bits.

The gun mode isn't perfect and it isn't a Walther, but I think it works. Like all of the Classics it doesn't have to be perfectly accurate to what it was on TV or as a toy; it captures the right spirit. And I love that it's to scale with my own hand. It doesn't feel too small (liek G1) or like a cannon (like MP). To me this justifies the height.
And it's the same height as Superlink Galvatron. So for those who have some sort of display where they need Galvy to be as tall as Megatron, SL Galvy works for that.

Size comparison. Pretty acceptable IMO since Megatron's a Gladiator bot.

Got it today!

I love it. The figures joints are solid, the plastic quality is no different than whats currently being offered if not better IMO, the transformation is tricky yet fun and that bot mode is all kinds of full of WIN!

Slapped a Reprolabel on his chest and he is currently in his Detolf home in front of TFC Herc.

Got one. LOVE it.

Before we go on...

El Duque wrote:
MightyMagnus78 wrote:That thing looks sweet! How does he compare against MP Megs?

He smokes MP Megs in my opinion.

Damn straight, he does. MP-05 doesn't even compare. This thing is transformable without things breaking (hence the removable pieces design), plus it can actually stand up under it's own weight, no die cast or tarnish to worry about, and he's a reasonable size. MP-05 is just ridiculously sized. I can't wait for MP-05v2. (C'mon, we all know TakaraTomy will update him sooner, or later. It's just a matter of time.)

Now, on we go...

If this is a sign of things to come from Toyworld...we might all be saying "FansProject, who?" Seriously, it's THAT good.

My only criticisms are:

-Shoulder peg is frighting.
-Trigger clicked on first pull. (Now nothing.)
-I wish the silencer and stock actually did something. (I think they have something planned. Too many holes and ports on all of the pieces to leave them unusable.
-The lack of face detail paint. (Fortunately, Pigma Micron pens will do the trick. .005 micron, to be exact.)
-Energon sword and pick axe are just ridiculously stupid looking. (I didn't even take them out of the package. Bleh.)

The transformation is insane, but good. The posability is just ridiculous. You can see through the scope! He feels nice and solid to me. The lightpiping is amazing. Seriously, he looks incredible with light pumping through.

I would've like to see a MP-05-esque Energon saber produced for this guy. Why they gave him such a ridiculous weapon is beyond me. I mean, he looks STUPID holding a purple, translucent LEAF.

He was WELL worth the $108.05 I paid. (That included shipping and tracking, btw.) Captured Prey came through, but I have to admit that their shipping is a tad sluggish. I do like their order system, though.

It actually went through it, step by step. 1.) Order confirmation. 2.) Payment processed. 3.) Shipped. (At this point, you're given a tracking number.) And it emailed me at each step! I mean...wow! My only complaint is that they don't specify when they ship. It's basically a wait and see and then out of the blue it's "Your item has shipped." and then the tracking doesn't work. ...because they printed out a label, then shipped it another day. Which, I know CP isn't Orson/Sidecutter's primary work, which is fine, but a heads up of "We ship once or twice a week" (you get the idea) would've been great. If I know what I'm getting into, going in, I have no complaints, nor do I have the right to complain. I ordered it Sunday night, received it Friday afternoon. Which is not terrible, by any means, but it sat for close to 36 hours before it actually shipped, according to the tracking info. As for the store itself? Clean, easy to use, honest in their descriptions. If you're patient with shipping, they're well worth using. They certainly impressed me! (They pack well, too.)

If you can find this figure, just buy it. Don't wait, pull that trigger. (Pun intended.)

Last I heard, there were two. One in June, I believe, one in late July. I ordered mine from the July allotment. Problem is, the packages were all damaged on the second batch. The figures are fine, exemplary, even, but the packaging is crap. Windows cracked, cardboard dented, you get the idea.

I've yet to hear of any upcoming production runs. You can still find US sellers with them on eBay for about $100.00-110.00 plus shipping.

RobotKingdom (based in Hong Kong) has them, they're like $90.00 plus shipping. http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/es ... atID=73_17

eBay listings, US: http://www.ebay.com/sch/Toys-Hobbies-/2 ... _PrefLoc=1 Unfortunately, there's only one US seller on there, right now, but more pop up, just keep an eye out. The rest of the findings of that search belong to a card game. (Not sure why.)

And China based seller, Chimungmung. Good reputation, ships fast, from what I hear. Has three in stock, comes with Decepticon logo stickers. http://chimungmung.com/product_info.php?products_id=731

I'd get one now, while you can. Looks like their next project is Optimus, in scale with Hegemon.

I hate to keep bringing this up..but its kind of a pet peeve of mine.

Megatron is SUPPOSED to be taller than Prime. He was depicted that way in the 'toon, and especially in the movie during thier fight to the death Megs was depicted as larger/bulkier than Prime.

Cannonically, not withstanding the fact that the 'cons were originally created as warbots and the 'bots were created as manual labor drones, Megatron was always the more powerful brother between the two.

If it helps you to keep your OP fanboism intact, just think of it as a visual emphasis on Prime having to overcome a "larger" obstacle.

I love the fact that someone finally gave us a Meggy that not only towers above his own troops, but is to "proper" scale with Classics Prime as well. I hear a rumor that Toyworld is doing OP next...and if they make a better prime (read: no crappy arm kibble) than classics, I will be on board but not if they ruin it and make him taller then Hegy...then i will stick with my Classics, arm kibble and all.
