Not that I'm not eager for another film, but what more could they possibly do with it?!

Plus, this makes Hasbro's cancellation of the DOTM/movie series *even more* nonsensical and baffling >.<

well they killed off every decepticon they ever showed us so i guess they have more than enough other characters to bring in for a new threat. lol

seriously, what was up with killing them all? the autobots lost 2, Jazz in the 1st movie and Ironhide in the 3rd. but outside of Megatron and Starcream, the decepticons were just cannon fodder and in many instances literally just that as they'd be killed off almost as soon as they were introduced. lol

maybe they were making up for the fact the animated movie killed most of the autobots and only killed one decepticon as the others were merely damaged or changed by Unicron. :P

Meh, the only characters I'll buy from this movie if it's not a reboot are Prowl and Hot Rod, as they were slated for the first film. Otherwise, my interest in Transformers is waning as it is, another identikit action film likely won't help.

On the other hand, here's hoping for a HFTD-style filler line beforehand, complete with unreleased DOTM toys and a new Jazz and Bonecrusher! However unlikely it may be.

I think that's asking a little much of Hasbro and Paramount. You know, they can't have the over sex-ized girls showing off their butts on screen if they did that...

Personally I'm hoping Bay stays out of it. I'd like to see a TF film without his involvement. And considering Spielberg is a damn good director I'm sure he'd give us something notable.

That and I'm kind of hoping for a different art direction for the bots. Like other have mentioned, I'm tired of the movie designs. That's probably asking too much of the movie franchise though -___- If the cartoons can completely change with every new series I don't see why the movies can't follow suit. Just start a new range of TF films... or at least go into the past, but I doubt they'll make a WFC or FoC like film :/ There aren't any scantily clad human women there -__-

Oh well. Means I won't be buying many of the toys if the designs stay the same. Just the new characters. Guess that's somewhat beneficial, for my wallet anyway.

Unfortunately, it is too much to ask for the designs to change. The reason is that these movies are made for the general audience, not us. That's where the money is, and that's all they really care about. That's why we have dick jokes and hot chicks, not the bots we love with actual character development. If the average joe doesn't recognize the flame-covered Prime they've spent 5 years shoving down our throats, they are less likely to break the billion mark again :(

So lammee!! I would LOVE a movie on cybertron.

Transformers 4: This time, giant transforming robots with celebrity voices for main characters and voices that sound exactly the same for everyone else will fight to the (sort of, they'll be back in the sequel!) death... IN SPACE! That is to say, in a physical space. Earth will do nicely. But this time, with 12% new material and 40% more explosions!

GET READY... TO SEE A MOVIE. AND PAY $15 A TICKET FOR IT. COMING SUMMER 2014~

i'm gonna ignore all the negative comments, assume its a good thing, and outline what i want to happen in TF4:

In the aftermath of the cleanup, the remaining Autobots have managed to hunt down all the decepticons and kill them. seeing as how the Laurentian Abyss was still reachable, in case of other decepticons they take all of tghe decepticons, load them into a rocket and shoot them into space. the rocket comes into contact with Unicron who reformats the dead cons into galvatron, cyclonus, etc, and powers the with dark energon, which would make them loyal to Unicron and also render them invisible to Energon detectors; they make their way to Earth. Around the same time, Ultra Magnus and his team of Autobots make it to earth to fight the new cons and Unicron.
They have to arrive in a way reminiscent of the first movie where it's significant to the plot, not o hey by the way there's some new Autobots!

That's pretty much all i have right now. if u wanna, lemme know what you think

Whoa there, for a TF film that's gettin' dangerously close to continuity! XD

But seriously, I like the ideas; always wanted to see another big Autobot (that actually remains good) and the undetectable Energon is a must! However I would be very surprised if *they* came close to a plot like that; neatly wrapped up (as opposed to either burying a straight-forward narrative in tonnes of clutter, or over-complicating it from the outset)!

Aaaaaand relax *THUNK*

Well, it was inevitable. It was merely a matter of time before it was officially announced.

Now, we have that announcement.

That, coupled with the anniversary, makes me wonder if Hasbro really DOES have something BIG planned.

With Transformers: Dark of the Moon earning a massive $1.124 billion at the worldwide box office and sitting at No. 4 on the all-time list, a fourth film was to be expected. We've now learned that Paramount Pictures is eyeing a 2014 release date for the next film, though it has not been confirmed whether Michael Bay will be back in the director's chair.

There's still plenty of dates open in June and July of 2014 if the studio wants to go with a similar release date as the first three movies. The first was released in July of 2007, followed by the second in June of 2009 and the third in June of 2011.

We have also learned that Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg will start shooting Michael Bay's Pain and Gain in Miami in April. That film is based on the true story of a group of bodybuilders who get caught up in a criminal enterprise in Florida.

Earlier today, at a Hasbro event for Paramount's G.I. Joe: Retaliation, ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had a chance to talk with producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura about the prospects of doing another "Transformers" movie.

"We’ll be there in the summer of 2014," he confirmed, as well as addressing (albeit vaguely) whether Michael Bay will be returning as director or not. "Michael had a debate because he sort of felt at first that he'd done three. Michael and I are both the same in that we always like to top ourselves. That doesn't necessarily mean bigger. It can be bigger in places, it just means different, but we're going to push really hard as fresh and new as we can be."

He compares doing a fourth "Transformers" movie to what they're doing with the "G.I. Joe" sequel by having a few characters return as well as telling a story that does follow-up from a plot set-up in its predecessor without necessarily fully "rebooting." "Again, we're going to try to do a hybrid there where there will be some characters that come forward--we think, we're still in the process of figuring it out--and some characters that don't, but it will definitely be a different story."

In the next month, Di Bonaventura will be finishing up G.I. Joe and preparing for Steven Soderbergh to start filming The Bitter Pill/The Side Effects in New York City--it was actually Di Bonaventura’s first project as a producer post-Warner Bros.--but we did ask about some of the other sequels he has in development.

RED 2, the sequel to Di Bonaventura's hit action movie, is going to shoot in the fall and while he wouldn't tell us who is directing, he did confirm it would be a different director from the first movie.

They're still working on the script for a planned sequel to his other hit action movie Salt, although they'll also have to wait until Angelina Jolie is ready to do that movie. "I would not want to see 'Salt' without Angelina personally," he told us. "I haven't seen the 'Bourne' trailer but everyone tells me they've figured out how to make that transition really well."

Look for more with Di Bonaventura and some of the cast of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, including Dwayne Johnson, over on SuperHeroHype sometime later this week

I hate to admit it, especially because I am TOTALLY opposed to the idea of Unicron even being mentioned anywhere close to the movie franchise, but this is the only plot-line that makes any sense given after how DotM ended. The thought of having Ultra Magnus join the crew is something that makes it tolerable but if I have to put up with Unicron to get UM, forget it. I won't go see it.

As I've said before, they should have stopped with 3 and left it the hell alone. Whatever they attempt from this point forward is just going to be one massive sh**-fest! I respect that Bay is doing his own thing with the franchise but still trying to borrow enough elements from the TF origins to keep the fans somewhat happy but there isn't a single thing that he or anyone else could do from this point forward that wouldn't just horribly mangle all that has come before. (Unless they go with Hypershocks idea, in which case I'll likely be the only dissatisfied fan out there)

Hope it's like an elite team or something, like Optimus, mirage, sideswipe, ratchet and maybe introduce ultra Magnus and prowl and epps. Sounds interesting and shialess so I'm in.

Speculation over! After today's announcement, Michael Bay has confirmed the rumors by posting a news article on his own site. He will be returning for Transformers 4 after signing a deal with Paramount Pictures for 2 movies. Not 2 Transformers films however. He will finish his work on Pain and Gain starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson first, and then begin his work on the next installment of the Transformers Movie.

Click here to view Michael Bay's website and read the full article.
