Seriously stop that it's so silly. Stop buying the crappy things Hasbro puts out and they will stop producing them. Stop being sheep and think. I sometimes feel Hasbro thinks we are all mindless zombies that will just buy whatever they put out, prove them wrong.

Yeah, because YOU don't like it, NOBODY should buy.

Your attitude is very, very childish. Because you claim that "nobody like them" and under the same breath, you admit they DO sell. Who's buying them then? Fairies and leprechauns? If there's demand for a product and it sell, it will be produced and put on shelves. That's simple economics.

You completely missed the point i was making. There is no need to get personal either.

Just like with Star Wars 5POA figures no-one likes them, but they do sell, which is my point. Why do people buy something if they don't like it? Yes that's right because some people are sheep they buy it because it has the brand name.

I hope people will stop buying stuff they don't actually like, that's the only thing that companies seem to understand nowadays.

And what makes you think people buy something they don't like just for brand loyalty? Did you have any prove of that? Just because you cannot find any reason to in you to like the toy itself, doesn't mean that is the same case with everyone else. People are smarter nowadays. Brand loyalty don't matter much, especially with good quality KO's going around now.

Heh, nearly $20 after tax for a Cyber Battalion at Walgreen feels like scalper prices to me... ;)

I do hope this "Authenticate" line doesn't follow the same pattern. Of course, if they do show up at Family Dollar, they should be very reasonably priced. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I get it. Not everyone can afford the price tag on transformers toys. Hasbro offering a simplified version of the character for a budget purchase is a nice thought. My only hope is that they can find the budget and engineering to give these guys knees. The Cyber Battalion toys had some nice sculpts, but the missing knee joints really took them down a notch.

Having knees doesn't necessarily mean that the figure will be posable. Case in point, I have plenty of G1 Transformers and Gobots that do have genuine knees but they can't pose at all.

I really want to talk about Family Dollar. I went to the states to visit family this summer and went to all the stores you guys usually discuss that we dont have like Walgreens, Burlington Coat Factory (which is basically TJ MAxx) and Family Dollar. I **** hated that place. It was like a poopy unkempt Walgreens without the pharmacy part. I dont know where the dollar store idea comes in since everything I saw cost less at Walmart and Food Lion. I finally saw those generations legion toys they had (like Legion Ultra Magnus) but they were like 9$, which is nuts. Since these are bigger, they would totally sell them for 15$ which I would not see as reasonably priced.

Sorry for the rant, I jut really hated my experience at Family Dollar.

If Kanrabat is reading, the store is baically the US Rossy. Looks like a dollar store with prices of a pharmacy store.

Jesus. Rossy don't suck balls. Rossy instead bite the balls off, chew them, and spit them out.

There IS a silver lining for them to price their merchs so expensively. Namely to keep OLD stuff unsold for so long, it become like a vault. So have you missed a toy from a line that is one, two, or even 5 years old but don't want to pay 10$ in shipping?

No kidding, I found Universe Dropshot for 20$CAN on clearance. That was 5 years ago, but Universe was a very dead line by then. Another find was for my friend. We found a HFTD Hubcap at the amazingly regular price of 10$CAN! And that was last year! And I think you can still find the generations Skrapnel with Reflector for 20$CAN. A rapy price, sure, but it's long gone from the regular stores and it's still better than Ebay.

Yeah, I can diss Rossy all I want, but it IS a great place to toy hunt. Ironic, isn't it?

Thanks for calling me a sheep! I don;t buy the 5 POA SW figs or these budget TF because I am a sheep. I buy them because I cant afford the other kinds. I actually like the 5 POA SW figs gives me a vintage feeling. Do I wish I Could buy the bettwr articulated figures? Yes but I can't afford them.

I still don't have a Prime, MEgatron, or Starscream yet. So I am looking forward to these! My Bumblebee is the small one that is currently at Family Dollar. Do I buy the more expensive figures? Sure when I can but that is rare the most expensive I Can usually get is the scale that Hot Rod, Kup, and Blurr were.

And I'm sure i'm not the only one. I am glad these kind of figures are out there. If you don't like them don't get them but realize some of us are grateful that they exist!

William James: my Family Dollar sells the TF legion figures like Magnus for like 5 or 6 bucks.

Yeah, the Family Dollar by me sells almost everything for a buck, and often has KO toys for a buck. I guess I have never seen TFs at the Family dollar near me so I cannot speak to their cost. The next time I am in the area, I'll check to see what else they have. The last time I was in there I found my son a SciFi novel that retailed for $20 for about $4, so I know not everything is a buck. (The book wasn't very good, BTW.) It seems like most stuff is overstock. *shrug* For what this is worth....

I feel sorry for any little kid that gets these junkers. No to get on a soapbox, but you know what was a great line for little kids? G1 1984 toys. Sure not nowadays, but in 1984 I was a little... well, a young kid in fourth grade and we had no problems with G1 and kids as young as first graders also had no problems with G1. Don't underestimate young kids.

Besides, aside from the rare occasion of a super complex toy, the BayFormers, and RiD are great for kids 4 and up. Not the one-step crap either, unless they do something cool like Jumpstarters and Battlechargers, kids these days have no use for one step toys.

The problem with G1 and young kids was never the complexity but having no storage integration. So when speaking of Starscream for instance, it was easy for young kids to lose the arms, wings, weapons and front wheel. Hence why you can go to any small toy convention and see tons of incomplete G1 seekers for dirt cheap.

Image

Same goes for Optimus and his fists. So in that sense, these toys are a bit better for kids since there is no pats forming involved (and nothing much to lose). Plus, these are more durable than the datsun cars who had that clear plastic top which constantly broke. That made lots of kids cry. G1 Bumblebee was great though and I think him being a nice little complete package that lasted more easily through time is the reason for him being so popular and for us big kids having such warm memories.

Stock Images of Transformers Authentics Grimlock

While we have yet to receive full confirmation on the new simplified line of Transformers toys' name, we do no it will be featuring the 'evergreen' (aka we're sticking to this for a while now) iconic designs of well, iconic characters such as Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Starscream and Grimlock, we do have some more images of the latter's stock photography, showing the Dinobot in both packaging, which obviously includes packaging art (but no name), and its robot mode, plus the stock Tyrannosaurus Rex mode.

The images can be seen below, and are mirrored from the regular Weibo account which has proven a source of plentiful images in the past year, tf-factory. Also included below are some renders with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, that appear to be the art used in banners starting to appear in stores around the US and beyond, as reported here. Check out what may or may not be the Authentics line, and let us know what you think!

So you have to assemble Grimlock a bit but he's not a 'partsformer'? I still kinda like it in that Pretender Grimlock mini-figure sort of appeal. I mean it does what it sets out to do better than the PotP Grimlock I suppose... Just shame it lacks of moving jaw. Would have preferred it fixed open for roar/bite/fire than sculpted shut...
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

I don't mind them I suppose but it's odd how the Decepticons are so much more detailed. I do wish they'd be a bit more complex though. Not a fan of the decreased steps required for transformation. I understand it being geared towards a younger audience but I also happen to agree that kids should not be underestimated in their capacity to transform a more complex toy.

And trying to say because some of the movie line toys were too complex it's a good reason for decreased transformation steps or difficulty is not a true/accurate statement in my opinion. A bunch of those are tough little buggers. If I can transform movie masterpiece bumblebee(truth be told, not the hardest transformation but still requires some effort) without even looking at the directions or online, yet can't do that with half the normal movie line toys I've purchased thus far, there's an issue. I think some of them were over complex, had too much kibble, and were not intuitive.

I mean it does what it sets out to do better than the PotP Grimlock I suppose... Just shame it lacks of moving jaw. Would have preferred it fixed open for roar/bite/fire than sculpted shut...

It's no different than having to attach the alligator head to skullsmasher. Once the pieces are on you don't have to remove them again.

Ah right. I didn't buy that one cos i've never cared for the design or character but yeah I recall reading Metroplex and stomp n chomp grimlock have a limb removed just to fit into packaging.
