If that’s true explain comic book marvel movies always become successful Spider-Man had many reboots Spider-Man homecoming and Spider-Man into verse was number one at Time franchise fatiague has nothing do with it maybe old fans on these sites should try something talk to new transformer fans my cousin like it but he expected more action he does not watch cartoons he does read comics but he does like transformers movies yeah prime in end in his truck mode look very cartoony I never saw red semi truck in my life driving on road but movie was good talk to new fans you be surprise what answer you get from somebody do so

Well Transformers isn't Spider man.

I fully expect Spider man alone to out live Transformers for a good while and that's not getting to the rest of Marvel or even DC.

Abysmal? Solo made 4x more than Bumblebee on it's opening weekend. It's highly unlikely that Bee would have done better having been released against Solo over Aquaman. It's unfortunate that Bee is doing so poorly. It's a really good movie, better than any of the other Transformers movies IMO. It just seems like these spin off movies from major franchisees don't do well. Marvel and DC movies aren't really spin offs as their entire structure has been to do movies about individual characters then bring them together and a big movie. Solo and Bee were already part of the big movies and were separated from that universe to tell a smaller story. It's too bad because I really liked both of these movies.

Would Fantastic Beasts be seen as a spin off? I'm trying to think of cinematic examples to compare. I'll leave Rogue One to the side as Star Wars is a massive entity which warps the proceedings a bit.

Fantastic beasts is a perfect comparison to Bee, both are spin offs happening before the main series.

I saw all three movies this weekend, which for someone who usually sees one a month at best, is saying something.

Aquaman was probably the best of them. It was a lot of fun.
Bumbleebee was great. I wish we'd gotten something closer to this in the beginning. Easily the best of the Live action movies.
Mary Poppins, a bit of a disappointment. I wont go into details of story, but lets just say, none of the songs are memorable.

I saw it last weekend. I really enjoyed it. I didn't like the jerky feel to the animation, but otherwise I enjoyed the story.

I've watched it this evening and I think it's an excellent movie, the way all Tf Movies should've been. Great action but in a different and more coherent way than the Bayhem; good characters; no sex sex sex humour and no robots saying bad words;a clean thing.

I've liked also Blitzwing and his short (but crucial) appearance: TLK was a mess of robots completely useless for the plot (and for the brand: many of those have never had a toy, maybe We'll see something in the lame Studio Series line)

And tons of eighties nostalgia, pure ecstasy for a 44yo like me :D

Maybe it's a bit too teenage oriented but the movie works right. I just hope they'll not loose this tune because this is the best.

A very good movie, the second in my personal ranking after DOTM even though it's such a different product from the previous movies that it should be must correct to give it a place of its own.

What was great about the fights in Bumblebee, you could tell the robots apart while fighting. In all the the bay movies, with their similar looks to all, you couldn't really tell what was going on.

I heard that a lot of moviegoers in China passed on TLK because it didn’t have enough of Optimus Prime in it. Not at all surprised at the low numbers here, but I am very interested in seeing what it does overseas.

It would be nice to see them come up with toys for these characters. I'd love to see how they would do Arcee, Brawn and Wheeljack in cybertronain vehicle modes, although I know they aren't going to do anything new with these ones.

I felt Age of Extinction rectified that greatly by colour coding all the autobots. Hound's last stand in Hong Kong was excellent.

It would be great if they make triple changers of Shatter and Dropkick but maybe they will be too complex toys for the younger audiece of the movie.

I think Hasbro has made the Bb movie toys line for kids and the Siege Line for adut collectors.

No, the only toys made especially for adults are MPs, everything else has kids as the target audience, Hasbro keeps confirming that whenever they are asked.
Seige is made for 8 year olds and older, the COMBAT systwmem is especially made as a new play pattern.

You're right! Maybe I've forgotten the MP/SS because I hate them: I think they're lame figures not worthy the money. In my opinion, their level is lower than the TF2007 toys, for double the price (here in Italy, at least :D )

Normally I wouldn't post Tv Spots and stuff that come out after the movie does but I thought I'd make an exception due to the contents of the trailer.

Namely some shots of Ratchet's part in the movie (With Ironhide and presumably a generic Autobot soldier behind him)

No good HQ sources right now but I have an instagram page where the trailer is split into two parts, and a youtube channel who has uploaded the full vid, I'll post the HQ version later if it comes out.

There are some spoilers for the movie so those who haven't seen the movie yet I recommend that you don't watch it.

However here is some screens of the relevant parts.

I quite like the designs. Honestly the whole “these things need to look complex because they logically have to be” aesthetic made less sense to me than “take the 80’s robots and sharpen up the looks.” Now everyone is recognizable, has tons of character, colour, and less skeletal. I can actually believe these robots can take a hit. I can believe they have the mass to form their other modes and integrate thier alt mode. They’re like prime designs without the animated proportions. (I love Wheeljack, he looks like prime Wheeljack but thinner or ROTF sideswipe’s quick thinking racing compatriot while being totally g1.) Seeing brawn was amazing because I had no idea he’d even come close to being featured.

Don’t get me wrong, I like a good amount of the old designs. But the whole “looks have to be realistic” thing falls apart when the rest of the movie doesn’t take it to heart. (Why robo nads? Why a crotch mounted lubricant port? That’s not safe for battle!)

All in all, it’s alien robots with personalities, if I could change form at will I’d pick something more fashionable over a skeleton covered in a semi. Sure it isn’t realistic, but neither are sentient car robots and it’s more fun this way. AND siege can be repurposed as Movie toys! Less divided shelves for me!

I jokingly included those, but I can present the bumblebee movie itself as a reason why the blocky robot design works better. We see bee is able to shift around chunks of his body, transform his undercarriage into an arm, etc. There’s mass built into the character. But the old skeletal designs meant every little piece of the altmode could magically appear wherever. And that kinda allows those jokes to exist. (IIRC, the wrecking ball was an arm on devastator?) Even the toys took time to evoke the looks and transformations, and isn’t that really what the movies are supposed to be about? A whimsical adventure with heroic Autobots and evil deceptions? Not some HR Geiger film?

I’m sorry if I sound like I’m just bashing the Bay movies, but i actually like most of them. They brought me back into the fandom after I forgot about armada and the first movie is still dear to me. But after all the characters who had the old names but no personality, this movie brought back that charm the 86 movie did, even with Optimus coming in during the first battle. It wasn’t grand or trying to be the best thing ever. It just, did it well. I left the theatre very happy for what could come from it.

Actually those wrecking balls weren't ever seen after that, they were just literally there for a joke written by Mr Bay since he had to finish the script off during the writers strike.

I'm still not completely sold on the G1 style but that's mainly because I'm G1 fatigued at the moment so it's my problem. I want new things and not old things pretending to be new...Give me like a movie Optimus who turns into an all terrain rescue vehicle of some description, or at the very least, a fire engine to reference Rid 2000 and Animated.

Don't take this as me knocking on the movie though, I still intend to watch and enjoy it, and I hope it goes on to do the best yet in terms of money made over money spent.
