Like it makes any sense for his name to be Bumblebee in the first place.

Regardless if a concept or idea sounds bad the only thing hat matters is the execution of said idea.

You should probably have an open mind and see the movie first before proclaiming it to be dirt.

Here's one of the fan girls. Dirt.
Okay, that's enough. You can dislike the new film all you want (even if it's foolish to do so based only on a trailer and a teaser), but now you're going into personal insults and that will not be tolerated. Like it's been said, there are a lot of different types of fans who like different things in the franchise. Accept it and move on. No amount of whining will change what others like.

Grow up. The user was called a fan girl. An "insult" would be something far greater kid.

I suspect they were more referring to the fact that one commentors comment stated not just that the previous one was a fan girl, but the fact that there is no context to the next sentence implies that they are also calling the person Dirt for not hating a movie that we haven't seen yet! Ddon't judge the film by the trailers or word of god, judge the film by the film.

Come on dude, your just unnecessarily digging the hole now.

I wasn't offended by your statement but you were stating this (and these recent posts of yours) with the intention of not being "nice"
and more so as being demeaning and talking down, that kinda qualifys as an insult.

Why should anyone respect your opinion when you yourself are not respectful. (Over a movie from a children's franchise I might add)

Peter is confirmed to be Optimus in this movie you know.

Edit: Can't really call a movie bad (or good as well) when it's not even out yet, I don't understand why giving the movie a shot first doesn't work for some people.

Well we can say a movie looks bad from the trailer but we would still have to allow for the fact, it could be a bad trailer.

Only when the film is out and we've seen it can we consider it a good or bad film, but even then that is just our opinion and not a fact.

If your response to an opinion you don't like is to dimissively say, "Oh, you must be a girl", that is an insult. It's an insult to the person whose identity and views you're reducing to a one dimensional characiture, and an insult to the women whose opinions you're saying don't matter.

i.e. Can we stop fighting and get back on topic?

Apparently we have different definitions of what an insult is. Your continued insistence on deriding those who support the new movie just because you don't, even after I told you to knock it off, is the problem here. Since I gave you a warning earlier in the thread, now you can have one on your profile. And again, move on from insulting other people. You don't like the new movie? Fine. You don't get to degrade those who do.

The old stuff made the fandom mad, thus the new director is showing us he does care by giving us something familiar. Also, I do want to point out that we see these redesigns ON CYBERTRON. Not on Earth (except for Bumblebee). While this will most likely translate to Earth, it is ACTIVELY STUPID to call a movie dirt when your biggest gripe is the redesigns that could easily be explained away.

Yeah your right, should of just left it.

Anyways I had a theory that the reason that the Cybertron designs don't mesh as well with the Earth designs aesthetically is because it might be leftovers (The designs not necessarily the cgi or anything) from that Transformers One Cybertron prequel that's presumably not happening anymore.

Would partially explain why the Cybertron stuff is a supossidly late edition to the Bee movie.

Okay, I really really really REALLY love that Soundwave design. But I agree that it clashes with the rest of the movieverse aesthetic. However, I think I know why the Cybertronian forms don't match up with the ones in the first film. I think that the forms we saw in the first movie may have been new modes they adapted in order to travel from Cyebrtron to Earth without the aid of a starship or a spacebridge. I know there's a one-in-a-million chance of that actually being the case, but it would explain a lot.

Also, I've been meaning to say this for a while: I think Blitzwing looks more like Ramjet that Starscream. There isn't any blue on him that makes him look like Starscream. And keep in mind that Movie Ramjet does not have a conehead.

Anyway, I'm honestly looking forward to this, it looks like it'll be a lot better than the other films.

I see from twitter that the whole discussion about Blitzwing not being Starscream is still alive and well. I have to wonder if the only thing that will truly lay it to rest is if Blitzwing changes into a tank in the movie (doubtful but what else would end this debate)

Somebody on one of the other websites pointed out that in one of the shots it sort of looks like Blitzwing has a cannon on his back, but it could just be kibble being kibble.

And not like the comics really mean much to the overall movie but in the Bee prequel comic he is indeed a triple changer there.

Re: Aesthetic discrepancies, I'm still hoping this is a reboot, and that the tie ins to the Bay movies that are there, are simple homages or attempts at brand consistency. Alternatively, I think it'd be interesting if the scenes on Cybertron weren't supposed to look real. Remember how Transformers Prime switched to like a painted motion comic style when they explained the Predacons to the kids? I could imagine something similar here.

Edit: And Starscream has had a tank mode before so Blitzwing being a triple changer would likely change little.

Everyone's talking about the G1 designs in the :michaelbay: universe, so here's my two cents: I have a load of respect for G1. It's the thing that started it all and it came first. I'm one of those rare, weird people who prefers the Bayformers aesthetic above all else (seconded and thirded by Cybertron and Prime, respectively), but I still do appreciate the simplistic look that the 80s had to offer. Having said that, I too am mixed on this footage. On one hand, I'm glad classic Transformers is getting some love in live action, and knowing Industrial Light & Magic are the wizards behind the CGI of these designs just maximizes the awesomeness for me. On the other hand, the fact we've had the 2007 aesthetic for eleven years now makes the sudden shift back to old school jarring. And I think that's why others feel like it is a weird change, because it's a jarring change. If this truly is a reboot of the DreamWorks/Paramount era of Transformers, people are still going to be weirded out for a while. It's just a matter of getting used to it.

Stay tuned as I give my thoughts after I watch tomorrow's trailer.

It is a reboot, Paramount just doesnt want to use that term too much. But Hasbro used it and so did John Cena. In reality, its whatever you want it to be. They clearly dont care, so why should we. I just want to watch a good Transfomers live action movie and this might be the first time that happens.

Seeing Optimus and Soundwave on Cybertron makes me feel they are part of a video game. No, that's too generous; these designs look like the uninspiring G1-washing redesigns that purists have to make as if they feel their childhood has to be replicated 24/7 no matter what. Okay, Bumblebee I can get past by since they want him to be younger (though out of place next to TLK's WWII scenes). Optimus should have looked like his Protoform toy. Soundwave feels like the TF version of overly praising Boba Fett. There's no friggin way that these designs would blend in with the movie designs we've seen since 2007. I don't care if people think I'm not a real TF fan just because I don't like G1 (I like G1 when it's minding its own business and not making other shows try to be like it). This inconsistency between Cybertron and movie designs has got to be as bad, if not worse, than the inconsistency between the WFC and Prime designs, yet people will get praise for it because IT's MUH NOSTALGIA!!!!! :-x

Then again, people think the MCU Hulk turning from a no-nonsense powerhouse in his solo movie to becoming a coward and immature child in Laffalok and Infinity Cash Grabs is character development. :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

Okay after finally finding a trailer that worked (a lot of them wouldn't load up for some reason). I'm actually quite optimistic about this film. The decepticons are actually engaging in a bit of deception for once in dealing with sector 7, which pleased me. Love the shots of shatter and Dropkick going from one alt to another and back again. I'm also liking the connection they are building with Charlie and Bee. Still not too keen on the overly g1 designs on Cybertron but from what I've heard that a small segment of the movie anyway so won't be too much of a problem for me, and things might gel better once in proper context anyway.

Final thoughts: This looks like the tf movie we should have recieved back in 2007 and I'm hopeful that I can catch it at the cinema :)
