Hellwarp?! I'm sorry, but the deco looks nothing like Hellscream. I get the idea of making a fusion between Hellscream's design and his previous color scheme of Starscream, but this is just silly looking.

The news post description is wrong. It misinterpreted what I said. The name is a homage to Hellscream, but the concept is "Skywarp as a shark".

He also kinda has the same colors as Starscream before he became Hellscream (not the G1 Starscream but the beast wars 2 Starscream)

By coincidence. The intent of this being "shark Seeker = Hell prefix" is obvious. Had it been Thundercracker's colors instead, the toy's name likely would have been "Hellcracker".

After all, none of the Cloud toys are the same characters as those they homage, all being unique iterations of those characters. Hellwarp is just another iteration of Skywarp.

Yes, he does. As I said:

I mean that I really can't stand the deco on this guy.

Ah, gotcha.

I get the idea of this Cloud line, but I just think in some cases they've hit gold (Cloud Rodimus being an example) and others they've hit a sewage line (Megatron, sorry, but he looks awful IMHO)

If you would be so kind, Hasbro, I would totally buy a Roadbuster figure repainted/molded into Crosshairs. We need more CHUG Targetmasters.

He was the same as the US version. So they weren't going to repeat the same toy again. Just as Classics Astrotrain appeared as Cloud Astrotrain.

Randy

Except Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus was never released in Japan, not even in GO! Tat made it fair game for Cloud ;)

True, but they would have made him look different than the same BH figure released in America. As each figure in Cloud either has a significantly different color scheme (except for Optimus) or the figure is released as an entirely different character than the other uses of the mold (or both). Magnus didn't fit that criteria. Plus it seems they're keeping with the G1 styling (despite how Magnus appeared in the comics).

Now if it was Magnus from a different mold that wasn't Magnus already, or something else from that Magnus mold, that'd seem more likely (even without Magnus getting a Japanese release).

I guess Energon Ironhide ould be right, but those colors on Roadbuster and the covered in guns motif made me think of Crosshairs (G1, red and blue targetmaster) first and Gears second... I might, if I had the funds, aquire this for re-use as Crossy

No, I meant a Classics-style Energon Ironhide. >:oP

Though, now that I think about it, I do see Generation One Crosshairs in this.

You know, I'm starting to wonder what the general idea was behind Cloud. What was behind its conception? :-? Except for Optimus Prime and Springer, the line uses either molds that were previously unavailable in Japan (Doubledealer, GDO Megatron) or would not have been available at all (GDO Brawn), were it not for the Transformers Legends line (Whirl, Roadbuster and Sky-Byte).

I really want Hellwarp, but it's no where near worth the price of admission. Maybe at $40 i'd think about, I mean I payed 30ish for GDO powerdive, 40 for one of these wouldn't bee too bad.

Waiting for the clearance bells to ring...
