I dunno what that picture has to do with this, all I see is Dawn of the Futures past buddy. Spade's a Spade. Look, I'm messin and being and ass, because I don't understand why exactly beast wars uprising exists when there's a perfectly fine banner for these toys to go under. Either the club needs to revisit the idea proper without having to make something up, or make moony eyes ant something else

While true in that regard, the very next Beast Era character toy they announced to be doing is Tarantulas, whom they specified as being "Dawn of Future's Past Tarantulas" rather than as a part of this new series.xyl360 wrote:Yeah, the fiction's its own thing, but it's no coincidence that (so far at least) every figure from this continuity they've done which was a Beast Era character was NOT available in any form in the Dawn of Future's Past set.
At least this new series has some backstory to it, since it's based on the world introduced in "TransTech" Blackarachnia's bio back in 2009. A world the Club has been itching to flesh out ever since.Mkall wrote:SW's SilverHammer wrote:Fine, I coincide that beast wars uprising has a fan base, and is apparently justifiable. It's even more BS when it takes a few minutes to realise how such fiction is made:
Pete: You know what people see to like? More pre-BW stuff. I bet we could come up with some cool stuff using the modern molds.
Brian: You're right! Lets make these characters from these molds.
Pete: That's good, now let's write some stories.
So just like the original comic and cartoon, The Club's fiction exists only to sell toys.
And if one of those toys is a Botanica using the TF Prime Soundwave mold, I'm all for it.

Right, and just because they call him "Dawn of Future's Past" and not the others surely means that the others were just cases of absolute coincidence and they had absolutely no intention of filling any gaps in Botcon 2006 collectors'/owners' collections. It was all for the new fiction and this new continuity is gospel and is in no way a contrived way of inserting characters, stories and figures into the Beast Wars/G1 universe that conflict with it. No, I don't think so. They can call them whatever they like, but the choices they've made speak volumes about their true intent. They know the Botcon 2006 set was one of the most sought after and popular sets ever (and still is, just check the after market prices on themSabrblade wrote:While true in that regard, the very next Beast Era character toy they announced to be doing is Tarantulas, whom they specified as being "Dawn of Future's Past Tarantulas" rather than as a part of this new series.xyl360 wrote:Yeah, the fiction's its own thing, but it's no coincidence that (so far at least) every figure from this continuity they've done which was a Beast Era character was NOT available in any form in the Dawn of Future's Past set.
so true. and just wow... dinobot in that mold looks shockingly amazing!megatronus wrote:I wish TF: Cloud was just a line of Springer repaints...

between uprising and dawn, i think we're still missing scorponok, terrorsaur, blackaracnea, silverbolt, quickstrike, and inferno. then theres (from BM) nightscream and botanica.xyl360 wrote:In fact, specifically because of that, I'd bet on Terrorsaur or Scorponok before I'd bet on Dinobot. They're the only ones left as far as I can recall.
"Transtech" (small T) was the canceled sequel to Beast Machines, set in that continuity.xyl360 wrote:And I thought Transtech was the cancelled sequel series/toy line to Beast Machines, not a separate universe/continuity. Is that not the case? I could have sworn that's what Hasbro/the Wiki's etc. all said.

"TransTech" (big T) is the Club's own take on the original concept, but revised as a brand new continuity, a Cybertron that has never undergone civil war, a multiversal hub nexus for trans-dimensional travelers from all worlds to visit, inhabited and governed by a high-evolved breed of Cybertronians known as the "Transcendent Technomorphs" ("TransTech" for short), who watch over and monitor the multiverse and keep track of its condition and events as a whole.
From this fiction is where the seeds for BWU were planted.
Did who explain why who used which name?xyl360 wrote:Did they ever explain why they used that name? Did it just sound cool or were they in some convoluted way attempting to reconcile the two as somehow being one and the same (like when DC did their whole Crisis/Flashpoint/whatever "New 52" stuff to consolidate all of their various 'universes' (again))?

They used the name because they revived and revised the concept wholesale. They took the series that never was and renovated it into something new and official, using the existing designs from the canceled series to create a new series.xyl360 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Did who explain why who used which name?xyl360 wrote:Did they ever explain why they used that name? Did the Club explain why they used "TransTech" (which is just "Transtech" with a second capital "T")?
