Take Protoform X. Had they done a simple retool to expand the opening the head inserts into for vehicle mode (which would require remolding a single piece) that figure would be epic. As it is, he suffers from shrunken head syndrome. Bummer. And now we have to deal with Lio/Nova's squished heads, too. Grr.
The Club is only allotted to have one part remolded per mold that get's remolded.

What do you mean by allotted? That Hasbro will only let them remold one part, or that they only have the budget for one part?

Why should Hasbro make accommodations for TFCC?... well, it's not JUST TFCC.

Hasbro/Takara are retooling their own toys more than ever... Whether heavy retools like Sandstorm/Springer or GDO/Asia/Cloud exclusives with new heads like Brawn — leaving a little elbow room opens up great options and opportunities for the future. It's just good practice not to paint yourself in a corner, ya know?

Mostly budget. Remember, such parts will only be used once, twice if lucky (Breakdown's head, Thrust's wings), and were it not for budget, 2007 Dirge would have gotten new wings too.

That's a silly point to pick apart, as I mentioned price hikes in my original comment.

^ I'm with you on this. Even if they didn't want to mod it, hand those factory workers some sanding tools and have them shave down a part during the assembly process.

This is of course a statement made as someone totally ignorant to the assembly processes being used, and is made in the hope that this might increase the pay those folks get if it is inhumanely low. Sigh.

Oh, and Edit: What I came here to say was that the Lio Convoy head I could live with, but I think it looks really bad on Nova Prime. Just looks like a White Prime with a funky head now instead of Nova. Bummer too, I was quite looking forward to this one. (Disclaimer: I have no self-control and will still buy it, so take my opinions as you should on club stuff, which is with a grain of salt.)

Using fiction to justify the club's screw ups only has a novel appeal for so long. This only justifies novae, of a the hyper variety to me.

Didn't IDW Nova Prime's head already resemble Lio Convoy's a bit?

We are talking the Nova Prime that was turned into (a) Nemesis Prime, not Prime Nova ;)

I was find with the idea even before the text story was posted, so long as the head looked enough like both of them. The notion of the fiction giving in-universe justification for the similarity is a nice bonus.

More like Big Convoy's head.

TCC Nova Prime might not be IDW Nova Prime (not sure what Prime Nova has to do with this, though).

More In-Hand Images of Transformers Collectors' Club Subscription Figures

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
We've seen in-hand images for most of the 2015 Transformers Collectors' Club Subscription figures, including the freebie incentive Lio Convoy, and other such as Car-Zap, Krok, Nova Prime, Nacelle and G2 Starscream - but it never hurts to show some more off, right? Especially in combination with the BotCon set reveal! Coming at us via Weibo users Lost-Zzl and 宝哥我们被劫, take a look below at mirrored images of all but Krok and Car-Zap (which you can see here instead). Did you join this year? Are you excited for these? Let us know in the Energon Pub!

I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.
TFCon List: Classics Skywarp, General Optimus, BW Airrazor, Transmetal Tarantulus, Alternity Prime, Fire Convoy

Not liking the paint applications on Leo Convoy's eyes. Looks like someone isn't careful with their paint brush.

I was thinking it was just me or that I was being a bit picky, but I see everyone is agreeing that the paint on those heads looks very sloppy. For the premium price these command you would think the QC on paint apps would be a bit better. I don't mind so much fixing paint apps on retail releases, but when you fork out that much for a deluxe you'd expect the paint apps to not look like the painter was on their 5th pot of coffee for the day

With they way the eye's are painted; It looks like they're head molding doesn't include any eye, orbits, or any other structure around that area. It looks like they're painted on a flat surface. However if you look closely, eye "bone" structures are there, they're just really really shallow.

Transformers Collectors' Club Tarantulas In-Hand

Motto: "A man who wants nothing is invincible."
Hot off the heels of a recent batch of reveals, Weibo user Lost-Zzl brings us pics of another Transformers Collectors' Club exclusive figure - Tarantulas! He is based off the Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar mold, and more specifically the E-hobby retool Scrapheap which has only been released stateside once before as the Shattered Glass Botcon Exclusive Scrap Iron. Tarantulas is sporting his original (pre-Transmetal) deco primarily purple with yellow/green accents. Keep scrolling to see the pics and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers news!

The bike looks nice, but in robot mode, it kinda just looks like a purple scrapheap, or the SG one without the black and less decals.
Pre cybertronian or not, there's allot more detail, and specifically texture, on season one tarantulas than most people think, here's a relatively accurate CG model
