A lot of people have asked for that, if only so that it could scale with the other CW combiners.

I wouldnt have minded either way.

I think it would've been perfect if they were all deluxes, because they would scale better, but I am a huge fan of huge gestalts!

Absolutely love this set. It's a dream come true. I don't mind the simplicity of the figures because in reality, it still took me 45 minutes to combine them all the first time and 30 minutes the second time I did it. However, I do wish the vehicles had a little more play value than they do; even the original figures from the 80's outshine this set in that regard. Things such as a spinning cement mixer on Mixmaster, a working crane (both telescoping and rotational) on Hook, a functional box on Long Haul - those would have all been welcomed additions.

If you love these characters and haven't already picked up the Hasbro version, do not hesitate to pick up the Takara Tomy set. It looks great alongside Masterpiece figures, and puts all of the 3rd party attempts to shame in my opinion.

The "Hook",functional mixer and the dumper would have been nice. Yup. Agree with you 100%.

That is one sexy combiner. I am hoping to get some upgrade combiner hands, an upgrade crane arm for Hook, and maybe a replacement Dr. Wu Mixmaster, but that is optional.

Spanbauer - Your shots look great! I could look at them all day. I really like that you posted them here instead of the Takara UW thread. I said over there that no matter which version someone chooses to get, I'm really happy when anybody gets to have and play with this awesome toy.

OK on a Moderator note:
Guys can we PLEASE be a little more selective with our quotes?
Examples; Fen - You replied to something Spanbauer had written, Could you please simply edit down the quote to exactly the written portion you wished to reply to. And if your on your phone just try something like @Spanbauer.
Silly - Pick one photo. Your favorite out of the bunch, then post your comment.
As awesome as Span's pics are they are super hi res and take forever to load. Quoting them bogs down the the thread and is a mess to scroll through.

Let's all do our part to keep a tidy thread. Thanks! :D

I'm right there with ya, if only because it would have lowered the cost enough to justify getting it; as it stands not, I have too many qualms with it to pay $150+ for either version =;

Kinda related. Now that we have Devs, should a revamped/updated Omega Supreme be also at the same scale?

It probably would had it won the fan vote instead of Trypticon.

I say instead that it probably WILL. Hasbro cant make a titan in a year and a half, so I am pretty certain all those choices were already at a planned stage. We will get our Omega Supreme eventually and I am pretty sure it will be in scale with Devastator.

If everyone invested in gold and silver a bit instead of spending it all on toys then we wouldn't be in so much trouble. :-P (I could go on about how Texas is now setting up a gold and silver depository but I digress.

Just got my Devastator for Christmas. The combined mode is great, stands very well despite its weight. Didn't realize how vital ankle tilts could be to a figure's stability. Even though It's not In scale with the other combiners, it does scale well with deluxes and voyagers. Makes me wish that the other combiners had been this big.
The individual Constructicons are OK. Scavenger and Bonecrusher have the best articulation, Hook and Mixmaster are pretty good, but lacking in their elbows, Long haul, though not what I was expecting in terms of design, (been hitting the fast food joints a bit much, eh Long haul?) Is still a descent figure beside his gorilla arms. I feel the same way about Scrapper, sans the part about design change.
All in all, I enjoy and highly recommend this set. Sure, I would have preferred proper elbows, and jointed shovels and crane arms and such, but it's certainly not necessary to my enjoying the figure.
My only problem with it was that there was a little tab on Scrapper that connects the barrel to his back for foot mode. It was very hard to get it in, and broke of on pulling it back out. Did that happen to anybody else? And if so, how did you fix it? I put glue in the joints to thicken and tighten them, but would like to hear anyone else's suggestions.

I am sorry to hear that and no, it did not happen to me. Could you take a pic of the peice that broke off? Could you just glue it back?

Sure, I would have preferred proper elbows (snip) but it's certainly not necessary to my enjoying the figure.

While it might not be necessary, it totally changes things. And you prove it by your breakdown:

You see, Scrapper is the best of the bunch and not just ok but on par with any voyager figure that came out this year... when he has elbows. The fact that he is number 1 in the Takara set and at the bottom in the Hasbro set means that the elbows make quite the difference.

I tried that initially, but unfortunately it kept coming off when I tried to fit it in. It might be the glue I used, though. It hasn't been working as well as it should, need a new bottle. And I'm only just learning how to get pictures online...

Not saying I don't like Scrapper, But it does seem that no elbows kinda' hinders the figure's potential.
