HAUL TIME. :D

Vos. Vos. Vos. Vos. Vos.

I'll post them one by one over the coming days, so I can dilute the thread a bit.
Starting wiiiith one we've already seen, by Kris Carter..

Image

..and one we haven't, by Casey Coller (thanks to sabrigami for this one!).

Image

And then the Casey one coloured by JP Bove, who, in his words, 'Burchamed the living daylights out of it'. :D

Bulk order arrived from Disposable Heroes online comic book store yesterday, all bagged n boarded!
They are pretty good store actually, not really had any problems with my orders, but I wanted to ask, what stores do you folk buy from?
Do you order from online stores, Ebay or actual brick n mortar stores in town?
With that, hows the pricing and shipping costs? :-?

I spend sooo much time photographing my figures but I have completely neglected to capture the cool sketches and comic bits that I have. Va'al, I promise I will start photographing them.

Anyway my highlights of AA were a sketch of Ultra Magnus by Geoff Senior, and getting some old comics signed by the assembled guests. Geoff Signed UK issue 49 for me, but you wouldn't know he had even drawn the cover. It was before he started to develop his distinctive style and was his first TF cover. I also got issue 113 (1st appearance of Death's Head) signed by both GS and SF. Chuffed!

Nice one sir, get them pics up!

I would have loved to have met with Geoff Senior and the new guys on the block currently working on IDWs books.
I only hope that when I can actually make it to a do, that the full UK roster of creative talent are still doing the rounds?

With Andy Wildman leaving and ReGeneration One ending soon, its a possibility that the ReGen team may not be all together again..?

Needs me some new sketches! ;)

Wildman may or may not be leaving the franchise, it's not decided yet.
Senior will definitely be around for a bit longer.

Wildman and Furman will both be at Thought Bubble in November, though! (Leeds, that is.)
With JP, as usual. :D

Waiting for more photos from youse, here's another from mese:

Senior said he and Furman have a secret project in the works, not TF based though.

That Ed Pirrie Vos is very rad. You planning on getting them all coloured?

Not all of them, I think just the Griffith one for now.

Speaking of which:

Ready for more Vos goodness? I am. :D

Our fellow Seibertronian sabrigami sent me an awesome sketch in digital form, which I'll try printing out properly and adding to the Wall of Vos.

Here's the process and the final result:

Wasnt really sure where to post this, so plumped for Va'als art haul thread!

Whilst at work I tend to frequent the odd Transformers fansite and such like, so get asked about my hobby/obsession by visiting colleagues.

One such colleague has just visited Singapore and popped into the Universal Studios to have a go on Transformers: The Ride! ;)

Knowing I am a fan he grabbed a postcard for me, bless him!
If i had known he was going I may have asked if he could have picked up one of the limited Evac figures!

So I have taken a couple of snaps below...

That's pretty cool, Mel. :D

I have two more Vos sketches left - one by Nick Roche and one by his creator, Alex Milne.
First one up, Roche!

Despite my recent splurge on 3rd Party and official figures, I could let my comic book collection be left behind!

Image

Thanks to online comic book shop Disposable Heroes, I have just added Transformers Robots In Disguise #22 cvr A & B to my collection and for my non-Transformers collection, The Someday Funnies hardcover which features some awesome work from Barry Windsor-Smith, Moebius, Art Spiegelman and many more! Phew!

I'm not one for comics, opting to instead wait for the collection graphic novels and buy them instead. I find they look better on my shelves for display purposes.

That being said, I do have a pretty neat Optimus Prime sketch by a certain Tim Perkins who was the artist on a couple of Marvel comics in the original Transformers run. I met him at a con in North Wales I went to. Wizard's Keep is his own publishing company he's set up to produce his own comic which is pretty good itself.

I had it framed too:

In anticipation for next weeks volume 3 preorders, I thought I'd share my volume 1 black label. It came with an awesome Hot Rod sketch by Alex Milne. I was immediately blown away by the detail in this.

Well, I had to have it shipped all the way from the other side of the big pond, costing £7, I am now the proud owner of...

IDW Transformers # 2a!!

I just need #22b now, then I am complete!
I found #2a on MyComicShop.com but ordered it via theyre Ebay shop, so as it was a flat shipping rate of about £15 from the U.S. I bumped up my order with a few other gems from my never ending comic book wants list.

Filled out my order a couple of missing Barry Windsor-Smith Conan Saga magazines, a couple of John Bolton bits, The Shadow, Return to Jurassic Park & DHP Annual and a 9-11 trade featuring Ted McKeever!

Marvellous! ;)

I agree with the comic issue vs collected trades point, but that piece of art is pretty cool too! :D

Oh man, you're the envy of all of me. I'd love to have any of the Limited stuff, but really cannot justify the purchase. And great sketch it is indeed.

Finally bought a frame for some of the sketches. It's a dark photo, but it will go up on the wall soon!

Old school Grimlocks: Wildman, Baskerville, Senior, Bove - and Furman.

Oh yes please! JP's colours are amazing, and Andy's lines are gorgeous. Looking forward to it! :D

(I also currently have two commissions awaiting me, arriving some point this summer. Lovely lovely lovely art.)
