Boulder Media, which is an Irish-based animation company based out of Dublin and whom was bought by Hasbro last year, has been confirmed to be working on a new Transformers Series! This information comes to us in the form of a Newsletter where Boulder Media discusses upcoming projects such as the new Transformers animated series, a new My Little Pony, and even Micronauts are mentioned! Now, we have no information regarding what the TV series would be or whether or not it will be related to current projects, but I am sure we will find out soon enough!

In the meantime, you can follow the above links to check out Boulder Media and you can see some copied text below regarding the new press release!

DUBLIN and PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Boulder Media, which was acquired in 2016 by Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), is adding several new animation positions to its operations in Dublin. To house the expanded team, Boulder Media will be relocating to a larger studio space in the summer.

The Studio, which currently employs a crew of 160, is ramping up its hiring significantly to support its growing production pipeline. Boulder Media is currently recruiting for positions in conceptual design, 2D and 3D animation, as well as animated CG feature film.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about the opportunities we can offer our crew,” said Robert Cullen, creative director, Boulder Media. “We’re bringing to life some of the world’s most famous and popular brands here in Dublin. It’s unique and very special both for our studio and the local industry.”

The Studio’s expansion will support a growing slate of entertainment around Hasbro brands such as TRANSFORMERS, LITTLEST PET SHOP and MICRONAUTS, as well as animated series on behalf of third-party clients.

“At Hasbro, we are very fortunate to have an extraordinarily robust brand portfolio, and we’re excited to be working with the team at Boulder to bring our brands to life through storytelling for more audiences through more platforms than ever before,” said Stephen Davis, executive vice president and chief content officer, Hasbro, Inc. “As we build our storytelling capabilities across TV, film, digital and social media, we’re looking to add talented, passionate, perpetually curious crew to our award-winning team of animators.”

Speaking about the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor T.D said, “This is a great announcement for Boulder Media and is an important next step for the Dublin operation in terms of the scope, scale and intensity of activity at the studio. This expansion will allow for future job growth and increase the numbers of films produced by this Company. I wish all the team the very best at this exciting time for the company.”
Hasbro is a client of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Commenting on the expansion, Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland said, “The expansion adds critical mass to a thriving Irish animation sector, further highlighting Ireland’s place as one of the most dynamic and creative hubs in the world.”
Interested parties can view available positions at http://www.bouldermedia.tv; or email jobs@bouldermedia.tv.

I don't see anything here about a TF show. I see that Hasbro wants to use them to create content, with the separate clause about cartoon series being related to outside parties.

If I could actually draw and if I had a previous job involving concept art I would definitely apply.

For now the best I can do is mish-mash other people's work to make things like this Hot Shot and Big Daddy I made using Josh Nizzi's art mixed with other things with my own color editing.
(Hot Shot here is meant to be a mechanic hence the tools and the multiple "watches")

I hope I can improve my skills to one day apply for stuff like this.

Boulder Media Studios Working on New Transformers, Rescue Bots, Micronauts Cartoons

Updating the rumours about Boulder Media Studios - Dublin based company working with Hasbro on animated series - working on a new Transformers series, we have confirmation that this is indeed the case, and in fact, is working on two series: a Transformers one, and a Rescue Bots Academy show (plus one for Micronauts)! Check out the full piece here, and the relevant snippet below.

Boulder Media, a multi-award winning Irish animation company, is one of Ireland's largest animation studios. It has produced many great shows for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, BBC and Disney, including Wander Over Yonder for Disney, and Go Jetters and Danger Mouse for BBC.

The Studio, whose current slate includes animation for 'Transformers', 'Little Pet Shop' and 'Rescue Bots Academy' and 'Micronauts' for Hasbro Studios, as well as 'Danger Mouse' and 'Dorothy and the Wonders of Oz' (Warner Brothers), is ramping up to deliver innovative animation and storytelling across multiple formats and genres.

As long as Rescue Bots Academy has some of the same writing and creative staff as the first series, it should be good.

So Rescue Bots is getting a sequel series of its own, eh? Alright then. I wonder what the other series will be? Another aligned series or starting from the ground up? At this rate, I honestly want to see some new stuff from the franchise that isn't tied to a jambled continuity that started seven years ago. I feel like Robots in Disguise is running nice and dry given the newest episodes.

Boulder Media Studios Opening New Animated Feature Division, Job Openings

Postby Va'al » Sun Jul 30, 2017 2:05 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
Two new job listings have appeared over at Boulder Media, the Irish animation studio working on a number of Hasbro Universe properties, including Rescue Bots Academy and Micronauts. One is a 2D Concept Designer specifically for their Transformers project, as seen here.

The other, a 3D CG Supervisor position, tells us something a lot meatier about what is currently happening with Hasbro, as it reveals that a whole new feature animation division is being set up, also under Hasbro Entertainment banners. And remember how it was rumoured that an animated Cybertron sequel was in the pitching works..? Take a read for yourselves, and head here for the job application!

As part of Hasbro Entertainment, Boulder Media is building a new feature animation division. We are excited to offer a talented 3D CG Supervisor the opportunity to join our very successful and established animation studio as we expand into a new area. We will be producing the first 3D CG theatrical feature film made entirely in Ireland. The movie is based on a very well-known Hasbro property and we can’t wait to bring it to the big screen for the first time.

The 3D CG Supervisor will play a vital role in building the new studio pipeline along with the rest of the team.

The 3D CG Supervisor will bring their expertise to the technical aspects of the project while working in collaboration with the production team. As such, they serve as a key member of the project’s leadership team and help define Boulder’s pipeline. At the beginning, you will have an important role in the look development, raising the quality while ensuring the assigned areas of production have sufficient technical, capital and human resources to meet the deadline.

Transformers: Cyberverse Animated Series Discussion Thread

Postby Va'al » Thu Aug 03, 2017 1:39 pm

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
The major news from the Hasbro Investor day webcall, which took place today in Burbank rather than Rhode Island, and to which we were able to listen once it was over, has revealed the next animated project (the one being developed by Boulder Media, alongside Rescue Bots Academy) that will follow Transformers: Robots in Disguise - Transformers: Cyberverse!

Divided into chapters - Chapter One and Chapter Two were mentioned, airing in 2018 and 2019 respectively - it will serve as a prequel of sorts, focusing on the characters and the Transformers mythology from a remastered version of Generation One (as seen many times before, but most recently in the Busy Book images) that will possibly lead into the animated feature (also confirmed in the webcall, and which we first reported on here). Hasbro have also just uploaded the slides used during the call, so we have images to share with you too!

Motto: "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes"
I really try not to judge something based on day one information, but my instincts have not been wrong (with the exception of Machinima's CW series), at least for my personal preferences.

My personal History since being online are as such-, again these are just my own opinions, which proves that for me personally, my own feelings about whether I ultimately like something or not, are usually based on first impressions

Beast Wars-Thought the toys looked goofy at first, no predisposed opinion of the show, gave it a chance, ended up liking it.

BWII- Liked the toys, liked the show

BW Neo- thought the toys were a notch down from BWII, liked the show much less than BWII

Beast Machines -Had a bad feeling, turned out to be right, hated it

Car Robots/RiD - Loved the Idea, Really liked the show (though I admit I liked the Japanese CR better)

Armada
-Didn't look good initially-I ended up not liking it

Energon- Looked slightly better than Armada, was proven right to myself, liked it slightly better than Armada

Cybertron
- Disjointed continuity along with CN god awful out-of-sequence episode order, and erratic timeslots, made me not even care

TFA
-hated it from the first press release, was right for the most part, S3 stories won me over a bit, but I never warmed up to the awful look of the show

Prime- Loved it from the first press release, It is now my 2nd favorite Transformers series of all time.

RiD15- was apprehensive at first. Turned out to be ok, but definitely several steps down from TFP

CW-Machinima -basically this is a case of false advertising. I thought we were going to get a fully animated series called Combiner Wars, not a poorly animated, hack production, that had little to do with Combiners, or characters at all in general.

Now, my first impressions of Cyberverse based on what it *claims* to be are very positive. There has never been a true retelling of the original series, and this could be quite well done. The switch to a lesser known production studio (Boulder Media) makes me a bit hesitant after the whole Machinima fiasco. If future seasons (chapters) have the opportunity to explore Beast Wars and the like, I'm all for it.

I was thrilled to hear Hasbro finally is going to be producing Transformers animated films again. Bummed they are based on the Movieverse though :( .
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Much as I love G1, I'm a bit sick of seeing it everywhere. We've got the IDW comics, we've got Machinima, we've got an entire toyline devoted to G1 updates, we've got a lot of non-G1 stuff being based on G1 anyway - including RiD 2015 veering more towards G1 lately despite its more original roots - and we get a £150 titan-class G1 figure every year.

There's nothing wrong with a new G1 cartoon series in and of itself - and there's certainly nothing here to suggest its quality one way or the other so it can't possibly be judged - but when I saw the letter 'G' and the number '1' the only reaction I could possibly have was "Again???"

to be honest as big of a generation one fan as i am i would rather see a continuation of season 4 rebirth
like it was meant to be not a whole re telling of the very begining, but although if a re telling of the G1 story is happening i hope they do good on story telling and quality animation ;)

Yum can I have more of that stale 32 year old G1 bread? I love eating the same loaf all these years and I'm totally not poisoned and sick of it...

The most that G1 should influence is a few G1 characters and designs inspired by the originals and maybe a couple of concepts but I would love more original characters like how Rid does it except maybe a little less of them so their meaningful and actually important to the show unlike a certain wolf pack from rid.

I guess but it should have good writing like Beast Wars.

It doesn't have to be dark and edgy for "adults" heck look how dull Prime was since that show was never allowed to have fun or how some people hate the live action films.

I just hope we don't get anything like the Machinima show.

Dull? I loved Prime... :(

In general, though. Some character designs are too classics to ignore, but Generations has been awesome, and I don't really want to be buy two separate sets of G1-Updates at the same time. I would love a well-written G1-story, though.

Animated had some pretty heavy G1 influence, and it still managed to be fresh and vibrant. I'm worried about Cyberverse, but I won't abandon all hope just yet.

RBA not being for another two years is ludicrous, especially since it'll be the only thing left that isn't G1 or Bayformers.

I see why people love the show but Prime is absolutely lifeless in the show and I don't mean in a lack of new robot characters.

Where were the civilians? Why were all the locations all barren and abandoned...even that one time they went to new york they only met one human in the whole episode? Why was the show nothing but relic hunts, no change of status quo and characters with either zero or consistently resetted character development?

The new Rid show might be a little boring but at least it has life and humans running around on Earth like they should.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
