Video Showing Who the Cyberverse Toys are Made For

Postby william-james88 » Tue Jul 27, 2021 9:51 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Cyberverse toys don't get big reveals from Hasbro since they aren't made with older fans in mind, and those are the people paying attention to reveal videos. So to make up for that, we make sure to give all the info on new Cyberverse toys found at retail or in new listings so that those who care about any Transformers toy can be kept up to date. And it's always odd to see a decry from fans whenever we post about Cyberverse toys. There's already two lines made with fans in mind, so why can't there be a full on acceptance that some toys are made just for kids? It's them who watch the Cyberverse show afterall, and having a toyline for kids based on the current kids show is the backbone of our wonderful hobby, it welcomes a new generation. A cute example of this is this video below of a 3 year old showing off some of his Cyberverse toys and having fun with them (why not turn Starscream into a boat?). If anyone needed a reminder, this is who these toys are made for.

We are lucky to live in a time when there are Transformers toys available for all Transformers fans, no matter how old we are.

Wouldn't count it as news but I [i]do[i] get the idea of Cyberverse being a line for kids. It's just a shame they feel less impressive than the other stuff meant for kids back then like the Unicron Trilogy, Animated, or the Fast Action Battlers of the first two movies.

I think we should leave that for the kids to decide.

Mine did. They went straight from Rescue Bots to Generations because they think Cyberverse toys are junk. :-P

Was expecting a lot more 35 year old + salt but okay.

I for one love the Cyberverse show as a 36 year old. It felt more G1 than a lot of shows from recent memory. I enjoyed it soo much more than Earthrise and Siege and that was made for me.

I also like the Cyberverse toys enough to collect most of the line. I'm probably one of the small group of adult collectors who likes non-complex transformations. That's why I do have a lot of movie bots but am not enjoying them like Combiner Wars and up.

Can't wait for one of my kids to be old enough to notice and enjoy Transformers!

As far as I remember, there was always just 1 line of transformers out at a time. Then universe/classics happened. Since then no adult collector should have the gall to complain about a toyline that wasn't thinking of the collectors.

Yeah, I can look at the Cyberverse line, judge it next to the other lines and give them a hard pass. They need to be simple for kids to work out/remember, have little-no accessories so there's less to lose/swallow and need to be the right ratio of being as durable as possible while being lightweight. I swear my '96 Optimus Primal could make short work of windows.

Right now we have Kingdom, generation selects, 2 separate studio series lines, masterpiece, R.E.D, and I'm probably missing some. Maybe we shouldn't be too upset at a toyline that features toys.

Stuff like this reminds me why I get back into franchises like the Transformers. :x

Mind you that any kids I do have will not be introduced to Kiss Players. But I also expect them to not be a Rewind like I tend to be. Because it is more fun thinking about them having Optimus Primal be the protector of a Lego city. Or even have Black Zarak's deluxe Headmaster form go against Monkey D. Luffy since both look like pirates (and not because both have X-shaped scars on their chests).

Man... Now I also hope that Transformers (or something like it) will be around in the future.
I'm on break. PM me when there is official news involving a TakaraTomy update on Super Convoy. Or if you have news on the upcoming Transformers RPG.

The ones who complain about Cyberverse being "kid stuff" are exactly like Bay-haters jumping into Bayverse threads just to hate on everything.
Narrow sighted people who get off on hate and complaining.

I'm really, REALLY glad that Cyberverse and Rescue bots are a thing. Because not many toddlers or 5 years old can jump straight to Generations and have fun. The kids will make precious memories, then maybe move on to Generations as they get older. Then they enter the pre-teen years and they will think that "toys are for BABIES" and move away from the fandom. Then they become adults. Those Cyberverse/Rescue Bots memories will come back... And then, start collecting again but this time, Generations, MP, 3P, and so on.

I bet that's the story for many of us. Too bad so many forgot it.

When I was a kid I loved the more realistic adult/mature looking stuff. I hated the baby cartoons like Smurfs & Snorks. What they did to the Gobots cartoon made me sick. And I couldn't stand the Filmation MOTU cartoon. In 81 MOTU was aimed towards teens but in 83 the cartoon dropped it from teen to toddler. As a kid I loved the more mature realistic cartoons like Transformers, GI Joe, M.A.S.K., Robotech & vehicle Voltron.

If I was a kid now I would be into Transformers:Prime but definitely not Cyberverse. I would be collecting Generations & ignoring baby crap like Cyberverse or Bumblebee Adventures.

How old were they when they went from Rescue Bots to Generations? My 3 year old tried generations (like T30 Roadbuster) but found it too hard. So he went from Rescue Bots to Cyberverse. He really likes the quick conversion since he can replicate what he sees in either the G1 show/movie or the Cyberverse show and they are more show accurate than Rescue Bots (Rescue bots keeps messing with the alt modes).

noctorro wrote:I for one love the Cyberverse show as a 36 year old. It felt more G1 than a lot of shows from recent memory. I enjoyed it soo much more than Earthrise and Siege and that was made for me.

As do I. And yes, it feels very G1. It was very telling that the creators developped a show that took place before the autobots in the ark woke up and then did a time jump, skipping all the Autobots vs Decepticons on Earth stuff to get to the War on Cybertron. It's like they are having the G1 show serve as the adventures that happened during that time and don't rethread on it, which I find pretty cool.

And I really like Cyberverse's approach to integrating many different continuities within a unified G1 type story and cast. So you get Cheetor, Skybyte, Lockdown and even an homage to Tarn all in the same show, along with new characters.

Yeah, the toyline may be pretty weak but I like the show. I think it's better binged than watched bit-by-bit so you can get a bit of a small movie from each season (works especially well for Season 1).

I could understand if that was the ONLY toy line produced. But as you point out, the "adult" options far outweigh the kids ones.

So to me, the complainers are either oblivious people who miss the entire point, or they are really egotistical.

Every TF show with a toyline is a kid show. Always have been, even back in the advancely articulated days of the Beast Era.

And the Deluxes are selective and limited in this character choices. Anyone who wants a normal figure of Shadow Striker with standard articulation is up the creek.

Regardless of any Cyberverse toy, Kingdom Cheetor is pretty mediocre in its own right.

I can't say K. Cheetor is "mediocre" but there's room for improvement. Play-wise, Cyber Cheetor looks definitely better.

I am just glad that it is 2021 and there are still Transformers products out for us to buy.
