They really are. I think Air Raid from wave two is going to be the star, especially if the wings can sweep in and out. The repaint potential is nearly endless.

Boo Megatron, Boo!

Hasbro, just do a large Voyager/Ultra for this character all ready!
Wheres Tsu with his tape measure when you need him?

I can only hope that once Hasbro have their initial projected sales for this figure covered that they will release a true 'Leader' Megatron around the large Voyager/Ultra scale, you know, about 21cm or 8 & 4/16th of an inch!!!!! :P

I'm thinking that in spite of his knock-knee rickets and OTT scale, he could look great glowering from some sort of makeshift throne at the centre of a classics decepticons display. He's indisputably a very G1 megatron, If he can pull off a decent sitting down pose, the loss of height would put him in step with other voyagers I think, I hope the waist skirt doesn't limit his hip posability too much. It'd need at least a 90 degree bend at the hip.

I'm also not sure about the arm cannon with the highly conspicuous missile/tank barrel in the end. Hope it can be rotated, or at least modded to remove the protrusion without damaging the alt-mode.

Between him, Voyager prime, and motormaster though, the hasbro designers really seem to forget that the Femur is the longest bone in the human body. What's up with them all having minuscule thighs and massive shins all of a sudden?

Also, I feel the pack in handgun accessory screams 'G2 REPAINT INBOUND'. It'd be rather nostalgic to have a Leader Class G2 Megatron that towers over the deluxe RTS Laser Prime.

Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Leader Megatron Comes with Faction Symbol Choice

Postby Va'al » Mon Jan 05, 2015 8:30 am

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
Slowly but surely, the IDWverse creeps further into the Transformers Generations line with the upcoming Leader Megatron figure's latest feature, announced via the official Facebook page. While it is unclear as to whether it's a gimmick or a sticker choice, but Megatron will apparently be able to be displayed with either a Decepticon or an Autobot symbol!

The amazing new G1-inspired Transformers Generations Leader Class Megatron figure, coming this spring to retailers, can be displayed with either a Decepticon or an Autobot insignia. Why? Well, if you've been reading the Transformers comics from IDW publishing, you already know…

I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

For two full years, and with the exception of the AOE stuff, Generations has been IDW this and IDWS that (which, as someone who has no interest in the comic books, is both confusing and boring), to the extent it might as well be called Transformers: IDW in Plastic.

Uh...I know I'm gonna regret saying this but he looks like crap. He's badly proportioned, he appears to have little outward movement in the hips and shoulders, his gun looks like crap, he's almost too G1 looking for my taste (IDW Megatron is bulky and badass). Until we get better in-hand pics with some dynamic poses, he's going to be an easy skip for me.

I remember when we used to quite literally beg Hasbro to make toys of IDW designs.

I still wouldn't mind a toy of Hot Rod's Devastation Dodge Viper design.

Speaking of IDW toys, are Combiner Wars the only deluxes we're getting this year or should we expect reveals of non-combiners sprinkled in throughout the year?

I would even add that a lot of idw character models are also based on toys that have preceded the generations line. Universe Sunstreaker has retroactively become IDW Sunstreaker.

For the forseeable future, Combiner Wars is dominating the 2015 line of Generations, while RID is releasing its own show-based toys.

If we did get non-combining toys outside of Leader and Legends, they'd most likely be exclusives, and be in generic packaging, effectively putting them in the 2014 line like the Legions and Protectobot sets.

And we don't know any details about Prowl, Ironhide, Sunstreaker and Mirage. That includes molds used and exclusivity.

If its just a stupid sticker why is everybody drooling? I figured the .001% of the fandom who want an "autobot megatron" would use a reprolabel. Hasbro throws in a free autobot sticker and this gets a standing ovation ? :BANG_HEAD:
