Even if the Autobots don't want him he's only a Decepticon as long as they keep paying him. ;) Heck, his next employer doesn't even need to be a Transformer.

True. However, the Autobots wanting him or not does have a bearing on whether he'd be in an Autobot combiner :P

Right, though Siege did do that whole story about mercenary Impactor being convinced to change causes. They at least wouldn't be against Detritus joining, though I'm sure they would rather he joined out of the goodness of his heart and not doing it for the money.

So I wonder what will ship first, the first 2 Seacons from Hasbro Pulse that are supposed to be shipping approximately today, or the Walmart Netflix exclusives due April 1st.

It's a good question, my money is on the Netflix guys.

Also eager to get the final 2 seacons. Once they are here, shipping my TFsource stack will follow not long after

Oh wow, Hasbro hasn't even shipped the first two yet? It's almost the end of March, I thought it would be earlier in the month. I guess I'm glad I got them from another source despite the price. Unfortunately since I got the last 2 on TF source I guess I'll be waiting a while to complete King Poseidon.

I suspect Hasbro just isn't shipping anything right now due to current events, they have a notice up saying shipping times will be delayed. I ordered an in-stock figure yesterday, ER Wheeljack, and he has been paid for but has yet to ship either.

...although I also just noticed that only half of my Seacon preorders seem to have actually retained the new card info I put in when I changed payment methods a few days ago, that might also be messing it up...

Which do people think is a more likely redeco for Wheeljack: Exhaust, or Slicer? Do you think they'd do both, with one being Selects and one being either retail or Amazon?

If they only do one, my money would be on Slicer. Much more of a color difference, and having to work around Marlboro. If they do both, Slicer is definitely the one who had a chance of hitting stores.

Wasn't there a listing or something for Exhaust (not necessarily as a Selects release) already in that same set of rumors/listings that included the Selects Rotorstorm, Bugbite, Hubcap, and Hot House? It was on the Discussion of Upcoming Listings thread I think.

If I'm remembering that right, I'm almost inclined to think that Exhaust will be a Wave 4 retail figure or something, and then Slicer could happen as an exclusive or a Selects release. Slicer would certainly fit the bill if they do another Amazon pack like the Firestormers Alphaforce Counterstrike set, or whatever it was called, the one with G2 Sideswipe.

I don't know which one we'll get. The rumored listing for Exhaust hasn't been confirmed as yet, but it could very well be true. As for which one I hope gets released, if not both, I would want it to be Exhaust, if only because we don't have a Classics/Generations style Exhaust yet. We do have the old BotCon Slicer from the Energon Downshift mold, which is a pretty decent representation of the character, being that it was already a pretty decent representation of G1 Wheeljack.

I'm thinking both. Both is good.

Either way, I'm planning on getting an extra Wheeljack and repainting it into whoever we don't get, or--if we do, in fact, get both--into a fourth character, because I love this Wheeljack mold.

Just got my "ready to ship" notices from Hasbro Pulse on Gulf and Turtler. Now, who knows how long till they actually ship, but they might have a chance of beating the Walmart Netflix exclusives that are due to ship next week.

Slicer as a standard exclusive, Exhaust as Selects. Why? Selects has a penchant for using alternate heads, which Exhaust definitely needs. As for chances, couldn't tell you, both have an equal chance because of their relative obscurity. I will admit Slicer/Decepticon Slice will tickle me more because of color and the fact he's from Europe.

Well, Exhaust is less obscure than he once was, because he got a Masterpiece toy.
Other reasons for Exhaust to be the SELECTS one if both are done: He's closer to Wheeljack in color terms, which would hurt him less in the collector-focused SELECTS line, and being SELECTS also gives him a lower profile IMO.

I'd rather see Exhaust released via Selects. Seems more plausible as well. And what ever Hasbro can't do deco wise, ToyHax will be more than happy to cover.

I'm not a fan of Slicer's deco and if they're going do Action Masters, they should do them right. I mean there is a WFC part 3 that needs a roster filled.

What do you mean by "do them right"?

As far as filling Part 3 goes, there's plenty of possibilities. Rodimus Prime, Wreck-Gar, Sandstorm, Commander-class Ultra Magnus, a new Cyclonus, possibly a Deluxe Gnaw, the remaining Minibots, Skids, Tracks...

I went and checked the listings I was talking about now that it isn't stupid late at night, and given they were found in the Toysrus system with SKU's, plus a decent amount of them were figures we predicted anyway (Coneheads, Greasepit and Hot House), I'm kinda just assuming they'll be correct? I totally understand being skeptical though, since there have been listings for what turned out to be cancelled figures in the past, most recently those last two Titan Masters.

I'm also operating under the assumption that Earthrise will be at least 4 Waves (given the numbering of Doublecrosser sticking out, the length of Siege, and the amount of figures left from listings and assumptions (Inferno) that all need places in the line), and that Exhaust, Greasepit, and Thrust from those listings will be in said Wave 4 since they aren't listed as Selects (and Thrust and Greasepit both will need more unique tooling than Selects provides). Hasbro has been avoiding putting direct repaints in the main retail lineup (the closest we got was Thundercracker, who had a new head still), so Slicer would have to be an exclusive/Selects of some sort anyway, whereas Exhaust at least should have a different head sculpt and new alt mode tampos, in addition to just different paint and hopefully a unique weapon, making him the equivalent of Siege Barricade in terms of how I think he'd be handled.

I admit I am more excited about the possibility of Exhaust than Slicer, which may be skewing my logic, but I would absolutely buy both anyway.

I'd love an Exhaust. But purely for selfish reasons. I already have Botcon Slicer and the older Wheeljack mould and I won't replace either. Exhaust gives me a reason to get this version of Wheeljack. I have no idea which would be more likely to get first or at all.

I have a question to all of you: just what makes Exhaust Exhaust? The head alone, or the head and deco? I ask because they may fall back to a different deco if Phillip Morris decides to be a stick-in-the-mud:

A bit random, nothing some tweaking won't fix, right?

I'd want a similar deco. But, given the circumstances, I would understand some changes. Especially if it didn't affect robot mode (so I'd feel bad if we had to get a white chested version as you pictured there).

That kid friendly deco. I'm not a fan of the MP's head, but it'd be nice to have a different head than WJ, but I'd prioritize the deco over a different head. It's a bummer that no matter how far Hasbro pushed the deco, it's still take a sticker kit to make it work completely for me.

Realistically if Hasbro was to release Exhaust via Selects, I see a new head with a severely gimped deco. The colors would be there, but the pattern and details would leave a lot to be desired.

For me, the head is one of the definitive parts of Exhaust. He can take or leave the "Marlboor" livery, but the head is crucial. That's one of the things that helps solidly set him apart from Wheeljack, same for the blue wings and glazing.

They might go with the Prime "Hyperspeed Wheeljack" take on the deco:

I'd say both, but at the same time, there is no real definitive Exhaust deco that doesn't have trademark issues, so as long as the deco is something close I'm content. That, and if he gets some fun references for his alt mode tampos like ER Wheeljack.

To be fair, the reason they didn't is because Hyperspeed Wheeljack was made before MP Exhaust (thus preceding that whole fiasco) and deliberately avoided directly emulating the look of the Marlboro design.
