As someone who first fell in love with the brand through Beast Wars, intergrated weapons are a thing I thought was by default and it is always my preferrence. Tails becoming weapons are a staple too

Totally one of the coolest innovations from Beast Wars. Good call dude ;)^

Well with the first pair being released in January, and the second pair being released in February, that is a bit sooner than I anticipated, but still cool. I preordered the first pair, fortunately these will all come around tax time, so I should *hopefully* have it all covered.

The deadline to order the first pair on Pulse was 8/27, I'm hoping the second pair has a bit longer of an allowed time, but we shall see...

Loving Kraken/Seawing, but this may be my love for robots with wings talking. Lobclaw/Nautilator looks off with the gap in Lobster Mode, but robot and arm modes look sweet.

That leaves Tentakil and Overbite for the final set. Can't wait for the pics (especially of Tentakil).
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

The colors are based on how they appeared in the masterforce anime rather than toy colors, and even then Lobclaw is more blue than teal. I'd have preferred teal myself, but I doubt Hasbro will release their own version any time soon, so I'll take what I can get.

Never again, sadly. All figures are identical between regions from now on, so any TakaraTomy initiated figures like Star Convoy and the Seacons will be direct imports, with a price to match.

While I'm not SUPER hopeful, it has been said that they don't like to create a mold without ensuring it will get 3 or 4 re-uses. So maybe where is a change they will eventually get around to a toy recolor for the USA market. (Not to mention that amazing white version from the Japan market. That's a thing of beauty.)

Still holding out the same hopes for Monstructor and Dinoking, as we have seen some of those head and dino molds leak out. Maybe they will give us a third trilogy "beast series" like Transformers: Prime. (ie. Horrorcons, cassette animals, dinoking, monstructor, piranacon, long-necked Skylinx, etc.)

however the Seacons themselves are re-uses of existing molds, albeit with quite extensive retooling. I think the best we can hope for if you are looking for direct re-use is a God Neptune set down the line...maybe. As for the colors. I'm all in, although truth be told, I've never seen an original King Poseidon toy standing next to an original Piranacon?...I thought the colors were the same? In any case, if they are going for more Masterforce Accuracy than more power to them, that is my favorite version of the character anyway.

And yes, more combiners are always welcome ;) . Besides, if we get a Monstructor or Dinoking, the good guys will be outnumbered by two, gotta get some more Heroic Combiners to even the odds ;)

Yeah, I'm with you there. This is the last Scramble City style combiners I have to get the Generations update, so I'm actually glad to see the releases aren't getting dragged out. Since I'm not collecting much of the Siege line, it won't be too much of a financial pinch. ;)^

It does make me ponder why there was never a Seawing redeco for Depthcharge, back in the day?

Anyway the Seacons are looking good. It is a shame about the colour palette, but at least they are getting a modern release... Even if it is just as a retooled set.

Pending Tentakil. His parent mold was never properly identified, if any, but he does reuse a transformation trick from PotP Chromia/Moonracer.

Personally I'm looking forward to Overbite the most. I do have a thing for Shark-Bots. Hopefully his colour palette should be the most faithful to the original release. Which should really make him visually stand out.

Because G1 homage decos were not a normal thing back in the Beast Era.

Even Beast Wars Grimlock's deco bore no resemblance to G1 Grimlock's now-iconic deco despite the two being the same character.

When 3H did their BotCon 2001 Arcee from TM2 Blackarachnia, they practically had to beg the Hasbro team of the time to let them use a familiar G1 character for the then-modern age instead of creating yet another all-new character.

Yeah, it is really weird. We've discussed this in the BW threads and a real shame they squandered the opportunities. For example, Three Bat-Bots and no 'Mindwipe' or 'Ratbat'?

The reason why I brought up Depthcharge specifically was because he had a redeco for Universe and it was horrendous. Like an explosion at a paint factory...

So instead of this:

 Too true.

I've seen so many serious variations of that over the years, it becomes more tragic than funny. Those kind of people basically saying that, Transformers as a franchise has no inherent value beyond catering exclusively to 80's nostalgia.

While I wouldn't put it down simply to "80s Nostalgia", it's hard to see this thing going as long as it has without it.

The sum of all the parts are what makes the brand going into perpetuity, but the biggest part is GENERATION ONE.

Yet, the award winning part, where it was recognised by the wider world existed when the 80's series had long ceased. Transformers is no different to any other franchise. Star Trek for example. Star Trek garnered acclaim with TNG, not the original series. Stargate is another such example. Wherein someone took the original idea and expanded on it and made something better.

Sunbow is finished and the 80's have been dead for over three decades. Respect the past but learn to let it go.

Transformers is also a 35 y/o franchise, so the "biggest part" is arguable. Fans from the late 90's or 2000's or Bayformers, likely couldn't care less about G1.

I remember when those toys came out. I was in my *non collector* phase, and the thought did enter my mind, that these weren't *right*, but that was about it, and also because I knew the rest of the team wasn't coming out, and that all new combiners similar to what came out originally would just be a pipe dram...fast forward to a decade later, and its been an awesome ride these past few years. Yeah, pretty much any use of a mold that isn't combiner compatible will get the initial  from me, but it passes quickly. I have/ or will have almost everything I could ever want in modernized updates. No need to take away form others...

you have to admit though, if they had kept the combiner capability of Ectotron, a GB Themed combiner would have been really cool ;)

Transformers is also a 35 y/o franchise, so the "biggest part" is arguable. Fans from the late 90's or 2000's or Bayformers, likely couldn't care less about G1.

When you're attacking the origin of the franchise, you're losing.

While there are franchises where later iterations eclipsed earlier iterations, it would be difficult to argue that with Transformers. Really difficult, unless you want to be laughed out of the building.

Motto: "Guilty or Innocent?
Always Guilty..."
Weapon: Particle Beam Cannon
I'm doing no such thing??? I'm just putting into context. G1 was the beginning. It isn't everything to every fan. To think so makes Sabrblade's comment even more apt and funny.
