Is it weird I'd want to buy an oversized KO just to display it in the very-likely-to-exist Ultra Megatron mode?

Erh.....
Look like it's going to be a pass.
I'm not feeling paying 100$+ for a standard Voyager.

Out of curiosity, wouldn't he retail the same as Turtler? How much would he cost you?

In an ideal world, it would be 6000 yen plus 1500 yen of SAL shipping, no customs because Mandarake magic. Total: around 99$CAN or 79$US.
Already a bust.

Because of the COVID-19 sh!tshow, SAL is no longer available at Mandarake. Only EMS.
So that would be 6000 yen plus 3000 yen of EMS shipping. Maybe 4500 yen. So, over 118$CAN or over 83$US.

And if I'd buy it from BBTS, it would most likely be 60$US plus 30$US shipping, plus customs fee that would be 15% taxes plus 10$CAN of "handling fees" meaning a huge NOPE total.

So, yeah. Only a miracle would allow me to get this very nice but way too pricey figure.

Not according to Takara Tomy who had a big sign up at Wonder Festival stating they're a joint project with Hasbro.

But Hasbro only sells Selects online, not in stores (unless I'm forgetting a weird Canadian release which wouldn't surprise me). I'm positive Hasbro'll have Megatron as well since he's a Selects figures.

Many Select figures are on sale at Canadian Toys R Us. But not all and the selection is pretty random. Only deluxes so far.

So Star Convoy and the Seacons didn't/haven't? Seems unlikely Megatron will as well. Can't say I'm surprised, even if the two companies worked together it's TT that dictated the more limited nature.

Translating that banner reveals that it is referring to the Generations Selects line itself in general (rather than specifically the items seen on display above the banner), in that it describes the Selects line as an "Exclusive Brand" managed by TakaraTomy and Hasbro. After all, MP Lio Convoy is also in that booth, but he's a mass retail Masterpiece figure not an exclusive Selects figure.

That could simply mean both Hasbro and TakaraTomy work on the line, but each have their own projects that the other imports.

All TakaraTomy Selects so far have been available on Hasbro Pulse, in fact there's already an ID available for him: TT-GS05.

Translation: "Eat a sack of roosters, Canadians!"

Because Hasbro Pulse not only charge taxes (thus no customs but still) and it's 30$US in minimum shipping fees.

They've never used that sign before and only used it on a display containing the Seacons. There's no reason to mention Hasbro at a time when they weren't displaying any of the Hasbro initiated figures unless Hasbro had some sort of involvement with the Seacons as well.

I'm pretty sure Lio is only in the case as a joke because of his relationship to God Neptune. By this point he was already released and there was no reason to have him at the event, certainly not in the Selects case.

They are, at least for me. They have little notches inside the bottom and there are two tab-like parts on the tip of the sword and they encase around that!

The banner just says " :BOT: Generations Selects: Exclusive Brand managed by TakaraTomy and Hasbro." That's all.

I know what it says, but why say it at all on a Japanese display at a Japanese event that doesn't include any of the Hasbro figures if Hasbro didn't have some sort of involvement in what's in the display? It's just a very strange time to bring it up and there's no reason for Japanese fans to care since so few of Hasbro's Selects figures have actually been sold in Japan.

Some found their way at Mandarake, along many pretty old Hasbro Transformers. But usually, you'll have to pay a premium because ironically, those are pricey imports.

Because Hasbro and Takara are business partners who run the Transformers brand together and it's only sensibly courteous and formal for the culturally-Japanese Takara to acknowledge Hasbro's management of a toyline that the two companies oversee together.

The bizarre thing isn't their mentioning Hasbro in that banner, it's their using that particular banner for the a display that only partially relates to the subject of said banner, being the Generations Selects line when there are more than just Selects figures in that booth. It would have made more sense for that banner to be used for a booth showing multiple Selects figures from both companies, but instead it is used for a booth showing only Takara-original molds/remolds and ones that aren't just Selects figures. That's what's weird about it.

Could just be that was the focus of their banner that's the line Takara has been most focused on lately, between the Seacons and Super/Ultra Megatron.

is the connection with the sword tips strong? I tried to see how they mount to turtlers sword, but couldn't figure it out

They are, at least for me. They have little notches inside the bottom and there are two tab-like parts on the tip of the sword and they encase around that!

Yeah the sword was a bit tricky for me also especially since it isn't in the instructions, but you can partially assemble it even if you only have the first 4. Just get a good clear pic of the sword and you can figure it out.

C'mon TF Source.... hopefully soon they get the last 2 soon

Sabrblade wrote:The bizarre thing isn't their mentioning Hasbro in that banner, it's their using that particular banner for the a display that only partially relates to the subject of said banner, being the Generations Selects line when there are more than just Selects figures in that booth. It would have made more sense for that banner to be used for a booth showing multiple Selects figures from both companies, but instead it is used for a booth showing only Takara-original molds/remolds and ones that aren't just Selects figures. That's what's weird about it.

Like I said before, I'm sure the inclusion of Lio Convoy was just a joke based on his adversarial relationship to God Neptune in BWII. Lio was already scheduled for release at the end of the same month as the event which normally they wouldn't include something that close to release, and he doesn't have a name tag in the display.

They look great together!

Edit: combined them, couldn't be happier!

Wish the hand connection was stronger, doesn't take much to make the hand, and Overbite with it, to fall off, but everything else is great!
Sorry about the rotated picture, don't know how to fix it!

Wait, Hasbro couldn't be bothered in giving instructions on how to form the Bigun sword? OH COME ON!!! This tells me what I've suspected, the extra blasters can probably combine as well. I'll find out on Monday when I'm supposed to get Snaptrap and the other guy.
