If they manage to pull it off, obligatory "screw Hasbro, gimme dat Not-Blitzwing."

Well, we did all love Defender until this came out... Fansproject would be far wiser to make molds Hasbro isn't, hence awesome Stunticons and Combaticons.

Springer is clearly the superior of the two, but I already preordered both and see no reason to back off from that. I've wanted a new Blitzwing long enough I can bear it not having great alt modes. Springer, on the other hand, will cleave away my other three Springers. Better sell those bastards quick.

After these two... I think hasbro/takara needs to take another stab at astrotrain and octane. Neither of those figures were all that wonderful.. But with technology these days, and upping them to voyager scale, I think they'd turn out much better.

Only reason I don't rush to order this toy is that I'm holding out to see what sort of decepticon repaint we might get. That and not having the cash, obviously, but y'know...

Well, at the time it was already apparent that an even better job could be done at a larger size. Springer just makes it undeniable. I'm all for a new Octane, though, and it isn't as if Astrotrain would be a bad idea either.

Goodbye Defender.

Just one question Baltmatrix: what's "frowling"? ;)

Springers car/buggy mode would look awesome in black, get a sort of Tumbler vibe from it.

Replace green and yellow with black, replace head with a bat head. Bam. Rake the cash in.

Since the removal of his helicopter blade is essential in forming the car mode, it makes me wonder how Sandstorm will be done, since he is being remolded into an Osprey-like form.

Hasbro did a good job on this. I would have rather seen him as a deluxe though. I still like FP Defender better because he is more G1. Im not going to jump ship like all the Hasbro fanatics. The Hasbro version has better colors and a more cartoon accurate head which is a plus. Im sure I can find a place for this Springer among my various displays.

My mind is blown by how amazing this figure looks. The engineering is just genius, and the aesthetic is so perfect. Seeing him side by side with Blitzwing, you can really tell they were designed by two different people and are on two totally different levels. I do actually like Blitzwing a lot, but Springer could just be up there on the list of best Transformers ever. Love that car mode, so absolutely badass. The helicopter mode is pretty fantastical compared to any real aircraft, but still manages to look really great. And besides, he was never supposed to have an earth mode anyway.
