It's the Hasbro Tryp and Takara Metroplex.

The explains the slight difference in Plex. But Trypticon is his size? Or is that a perspective/posing thing on Plex? I thought he was meant to be a little smaller but with more mass to compensate?

You can see Plex' knees are bent and there's perspective and posing going on. So they can appear to be the same height, but Tryp is definitely shorter.

Wasn't Trypticon shorter than Metroplex in the cartoon?

Titan class Trypticon was said at Toy Fair to be 20 inches tall.

Wait for a deal. These higher priced items never sell out and fort max showed that the big box stores will all sell them, though maybe online only for some, which makes sense.

Preorder the Legends if you can afford it.

Even if they turn out to be identical? It has happened...

I don't remember exactly since I got the Legends version, but that was just in Canada right? I don't recall US Walmart selling any Titans online (definitely not in stores), and Target only got Devastator (online only) which they claim to be an exclusive and still want $170. TRU is the only major American retailer that got these both online and in stores. I don't know where people are getting the amazing clearance prices on Fort Max, he's still full price on BBTS and TRU, and $20 off on TFSource. So where are the deals? To me it isn't worth waiting nearly a year for a good price that may not come along and better to buy what you want when you find it.
