Hate to be a party pooper but I agree. It looks as expected in dino mode, which isn't a bad thing, it's just a thing.

Very excited to see the base mode though. Super very much excited for that. Some fun looking panel boundaries in the legs :D

That's why I'm waiting to see what else he has to offer.

Plus how the figure actually looks, not the fancy detailed rendered version which sucks us in and leave us disappointed in the final result.

Honestly, without fail I always find the renders to look far worse than the finished product. TR Megatron's render scared me because it looked hideous; but the actual in-hand pictures and when I myself got the figure in hand was a different story. Trypticon'll look better than this.

@stuart
Why would it be Gigastorm?

For Full Tilt as an independent car, yes. But for greater media accuracy on the other hand...

Since Full Tilt's only vintage fiction appearance was in the manga, "his" main function in the cartoon was as Trypsie's chest door in FFoD part 5 and Call of the Primitives, so maybe the greater rectangularness is to emulate its gangplank function in the latter ep. Toys accurate to THAT episode are rarely a bad thing.

And while Gigastorm seems obvious, he was actually toy-scale in the BWII anime, wasn't he? It'd still be neat, but I'd most like to see the SDCC version repainted red to be an upgraded Deadeye from Starriors!

Which will happen as soon as CW Devy gets remolded into an official Mr. Hard Hat.

Don't worry, in another 30 years they'll have a completely different posture for T-Rex, so it will still be wrong ;)

That Trex is already wrong, the modern take has feathers now.

I mean every other set has more accessories then TR Fort Max.

It was probably because of it being a retool or there being a limit to how much the set could contain.

So, this is now a thing :-?

My thoughts:

-Sorry (not surprised, just sorry) it's not war within or war for cybertron based (or influenced, would've been cool to see it draw from a bunch of cool designs)

-hope it can't walk, that'd be lame

-I like it, but I hope the ratchets in the knees and thighs are up to handling his weight (especially as he doesn't have ankle joints

I will say that, unlike Fort Max and m.plex, my immediate impression was that I wanted this in my collection, so, it's got that going for it...

I think I'll be trying to get it, but I might not, dunno, never seen any other titan class figure at a store >:oP

For those complaining about him being anatomically incorrect, keep in mind that Godzilla looks the exact same way. And when they did try to make him look anatomically correct, it resulted in that God-awful 1998 film.

Also, Trypticon is not a T-Rex. Stop calling him that.

I hope they go a different route with Omega Supreme, honestly. I want him to be as tall as Titan Class Devistator from Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors, as they are rivals to each other in the G1 cartoon fiction. They should match up in stature. Omega being six inches taller would look lopsided. Plus, he shouldn't be as big as any of the city-formers. What he would lack in raw mass for a Titan Class figure like Metroplex, Trypticon, or Fortress Maximus, could be made up for with extra features, articulation, deco, parts count, etc. Or Hasbro could just adjust the price point downward. I think Devastator was less expensive than Metroplex of Fort Max, if I'm not mistaken?

Yeah, I was hoping for a more updated design, especially since our understanding of T-Rexs having changed a lot since the 80s. I still wanna see more though

We had th8s with Grimlick too, though. Most modern takes will be the updated Trex, but anything slavishly G1 is still gonna be the upright tail dragger.

I find it funny, 10 years ago or less, everythibg that even thought of being an updated G1 was lambasted for everything that was different. We wanted the G1 figures, jusy with kor knees and elbows. Now we have figures like Trypticon, like the Headmasters, and they arent different enough.

Even as younger fan in the age department who still in a way grew up with G1 reruns on the hub and watching the 86 movie and having grown a great appreciation for the original G1 toys. I believe this new Trypticon is totally wicked. Then again that's just my opinion. :CON:
